Den Gamle By, or The Old Town in English, is an open-air town museum located in the Aarhus Botanical Gardens, in central Aarhus, Denmark. In 1914, the museum opened as the world's first open-air museum of its kind, concentrating on town culture rather than village culture, and to this day it remains one of just a few top rated Danish museums outside Copenhagen, serving more than 400,000 visitors pr. year. Today the museum consists of 75 historical buildings collected from 20 townships in all parts of the country. The town itself is the main attraction but most buildings are open for visitors; rooms are either decorated in the original historical style or organized into larger exhibits of which there are 5 regular with varying themes. The museum buildings are organized into a small town of chiefly half-timbered structures originally erected between 1550 and the late 19th century in various parts of the country and later moved to Aarhus during the 20th century. In all there are some 27 rooms, chambers or kitchens, 34 workshops, 10 groceries or shops, 5 historical gardens, a post office, a customs office, a school and a theatre. There are several groceries, diners and workshops spread throughout the town with museum staff working in the roles of town figures i.e. merchant, blacksmith etc. adding to the illusion of a "living" town.

Aarhus Mølle (Aarhus Mill) is a building in Aarhus, Denmark. The mill dates back to at least 1289 but the oldest of the existing buildings are from the 1600s while the main building is from c. 1700. The building complex comprise three buildings; a main building from c. 1700, a stables from the 1600s and a malt mill from 1782. Originally constructed on Vestergade in the Indre by neighborhood it has since been moved to the Old Town Museum where it is now used as the main administrative building and for some museum-related workshops. Many places in Aarhus has been named for the mill; the Aarhus river used to be called Mølleåen (Mill-river) and there was a large pond by the mill known as Mølledammen (Mill pond). The city gate Mølleport (Mill Gate) lay on the corner of Vester Alle and Vestergade. Until 1910 a part of Vestergade was called Møllegade (Mill Street). Present day Mølleparken (Mill Park) was created on the old pond used by the mill.

VIA University College is a university college (Danish: professionshøjskole) organisation in Central Denmark Region, Denmark, established in January 2008. It is present in the region with a total of eight campuses.

Aarhus Botanical Gardens is a botanical garden in Aarhus, Denmark. It is located north of the Old Town open-air village museum and was founded in 1875. Nowadays it covers an area of 21.5 hectares (53 acres), with 5 hectares (12 acres) for the Old Town. The park was originally created primarily as a botanical and academic study-ground in relation to Aarhus University and provides an attraction of interest to those who wish to inspect the thousands of plant species on display here. All are labelled in both Latin and Danish. The landscape is quite varied and includes a large greenhouse center; originally from 1970 by C. F. Møller Architects, but with a newly added tropical hothouse. The gardens have an open-air amphitheatre, two small ponds, a children's playground and the large lawns are popular with picnics, gatherings and events of all kinds year round. The greenhouses has been heavily renovated from 2011 to late 2014 and a large tropical dome was added, amongst other facilities. The project was budgeted at 65 million DKK and realized in a cooperation between Aarhus Municipality, Aarhus University and Realdania, with C. F. Møller Architects as architectural designers.

Løgten is a town in Aarhus Municipality, Central Denmark Region in Denmark. Løgten is close to the motorway Djurslandsmotorvejen between Skødstrup and Lisbjerg, the railway between Aarhus and Randers and is a station on the light rail system Aarhus Letbane. Løgten had a population of 8,651 (1 January 2023).

Ceres Panorama is a high-rise building on Ceres Allé in the CeresByen neighborhood in Aarhus, Denmark. At 75 meters it is the third tallest building in Aarhus after Aarhus Cathedral and Aarhus City Tower and as of 2016, it is the 11th tallest building in Denmark. Ceres Panorama is a residential condominium building with 130 privately owned units. The high-rise was built as the flagship building in the development of the CeresByen neighborhood and with its 20 floors in an area of mainly 8-10 story buildings it makes for a very noticeable landmark.In the 6.000 m² base of the tower the consulting engineering company Niras A/S will establish new offices.

Prismet (English: The Prism) is an office building in Aarhus, Denmark. It is one of the tallest buildings in the city and it was the first building more than 50 meters tall built in Aarhus city center since the early 1970s. Prismet was built by the Danish investment group PFA Byg A/S between 1999 and 2002. The contractor was H. Hoffmann & Sønner A/S, the engineer Birch & Krogboe A/S and the architect company Friis & Moltke. The landscape architect firm Schønherr designed the outdoors areas, including a small park. The project covers 17800 m2.

Aarhus City Tower (formerly HL Huset) is a building on Værkmestergade in Aarhus, Denmark and it is one of the tallest buildings in both the city and Denmark at large. At 94 meters it is the second tallest building in Aarhus after Aarhus Cathedral and, as of 2016, it is the fourth tallest building in Denmark. Aarhus City Tower is used as a Comwell hotel, offices and for conferences. Aarhus City Tower was built by the Danish businessman Hans Lorenzen through the contractor KPC with Rambøll as the engineer and Arkitema as the architect. The building is 25.000m² spread across 25 floors with an additional 13.000m² subterranean parking garage. It is the tallest building constructed in Aarhus since the 1930s when the cathedral got its 96 meter tall spire. The other floors has been rented by Bech-Bruun, Deloitte and the Danish hotel chain Comwell. The Comwell hotel has 240 rooms and conference facilities for 1000 people.

The Danish Poster Museum Danish: Det Danske Plakatmuseum in Aarhus, Denmark is a museum dedicated to the history of poster art. The museum is situated in the open air museum The Old Town in the Town Center neighbourhood in central Aarhus.The museum originates from a collection by the Danish painter Peder Stougaard who began collecting posters in 1972. Initially the collection was primarily Danish but it has been expanded with poster art from across the world through outreach to embassies and museums.The Poster Museum was founded in 1993 and Stougaards collection was donated to the museum where it remains central to the exhibit and overall collection. In 2006 the museum moved into buildings in the Old Town museum. The entrance to the museum is a pavilion from the Danish National Exhibition of 1909 but the interior is a modern complex in two stories, designed by the architects firm C.F. Møller. In September 2012 Elsebeth Aasted Schanz was appointed to the position of museum director.The collection spans some 400,000 posters with a wide foundation, covering all types of posters from commercial advertising to wall art, both national and international. The exhibition hall shows a collection of classical Danish posters from the 19th and 20th centuries with 6-8 annual exhibits focused on a specific topic such as the Second World War, the Cold War and the hippie movement.

Møllevang Church (Danish: Møllevangskirken) is a church in Aarhus, Denmark. The church is situated in the Fuglebakken neighborhood on the street Fuglesangs Alle, north of Ring 1, in Western Aarhus. Møllevang Church is a part of the Church of Denmark, the Danish state church, and is the parish church of Møllevang Parish. The church serves some 9000 parishioners and holds weekly sermons as well as weddings, burials and baptisms.Møllevang Church was constructed on the initiative of pastor Axel Hjeresen who formed a committee when it became apparent it was necessary to split St. Markus Parish. Funds for the church were contributed by the parishioners of the new Møllevang Parish and public funds from the Danish state while Aarhus Municipality contributed the land. The church was raised quickly; construction was initiated 24 June 1958 and on 21 June 1959 the new church was inaugurated.The architect C.F. Møller designed the church to unite traditional Danish church architecture with modernity. The church features a dominating roof which extends almost to the ground and an otherwise simple structure which narrows towards the altar. The only window in the church room is formed in the roof. Originally the church did not have a tower but one was added in 1968, also designed by C.F. Møller. The church and the tower are constructed of red brick. The design is kept simple with few decorations, a decision which is repeated in the interior with white walls and simple symmetry.Møllevang Church is a Green Church (Grøn Kirke). Green Churches is a network of Danish churches dedicated to implement and further an environmentally friendly operation and climate actions in relation to the current climate crisis. The network agenda was launched by the National Council of Churches in Denmark (NCCD) in 2011.

Åparken (The River-park) is a public park in central Aarhus, Denmark. The park is situated by the Aarhus River in the Vesterbro neighborhood in Midtbyen close to CeresByen, bounded by the streets Carls Blochs Gade and Thorvaldsensgade. The park is divided by a central pedestrian pathway which runs from the urban center and connects to the recreational path Brabrandstien towards the west, circumventing Brabrand Lake area. Åparken is the first of a number of green areas extending from the city centre along the river and the pathway of Brabrandstien. The long distance "Aarhus-Silkeborg hiking route" starts off from Åparken. The park is an open grassy area with a few trees and raised flower beds of mixed wildflower. The park contains a number of recreational and play facilities, including a slack lining, hammocks, climbing walls and a berth for canoes, kayaks or general recreation has been constructed at the river. The park is also home to Folkestedet, a municipal community house and organization, aiming to provide facilities for clubs and organizations in the city. Aarhus Tech runs a café here.The park was developed partially on top of an underground municipal water reservoir, constructed in 2008-2011. The basin is part of a series of underground reservoirs and a larger effort by the municipality to deal with the increased and increasing levels of rainfall due to climate change. The reservoir can hold 15,000 m3 of water from the river.

Godsbanen is a cultural centre in central Aarhus, Denmark since 2012. The site and most of the buildings are a former goods station, known as "Aarhus Godsbanegård" (Aarhus Goods Station), which was in use from 1923 to 2000. It is located at the end of a broad sidetrack to the central railway yard of Aarhus. In December 2010, Realdania announced that the area would be gradually transformed into a modern city district, through a collaborative project with Aarhus Municipality. Apart from the new cultural centre of Godsbanen, there are plans to build several buildings and institutions along the former railway yard, including a new school of architecture.
