The University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy is located in Sofia, Bulgaria. It was founded in 1942 as a Higher Technical School following a decree issued on June 6, 1941 by the Bulgarian Tsar Boris III. In 1945 it was transformed into a State Polytechnic. In 1953 the Polytechnic was divided into several institutes one of them being the Institute of Civil Engineering. Since 1977 the institute is renamed Higher Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering (HIACE). In 1990 by a decision of its General Assembly the Institute was renamed University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG), the official accreditation being voted by the Parliament on 21 July 1995. On 15.11.2001 received institutional accreditation.

Vasil Levski Stadium Metro Station (Bulgarian: Метростанция „Стадион „Васил Левски“) is a station on the Sofia Metro in Bulgaria. It was introduced into service on 8 May 2009. It serves the Vasil Levski National Stadium. The architectural layout was created by architects Kr. Andreev and D. Mushev.

Yunak Stadium (Bulgarian: Стадион Юнак, Stadion Yunak), was a multi-use stadium in central Sofia, Bulgaria. It was located at the north-western corner of Knyaz Boris's Garden, on the southern bank of the Perlovska river. It was the largest stadium in Bulgaria until the middle of the 20th century, with a capacity of 35,000 spectators, and was initially used as the main stadium for Bulgaria national football team matches. The pitch was almost exactly square-shaped, with four straight rows of stands on all sides.The stadium is named after the Yunak sports societies which formed in Bulgaria in the late 19th century, themselves named after the word "yunak", meaning a strong young man. In the 1920s–30s, immediately to the northeast of Yunak stadium, was built the smaller Levski Field, the home ground of SK Levski. In the 1950s, the BCP decided to build a new, larger national stadium on the site of Levski Field. As the new stadium would infringe on the north-eastern stands of the Yunak stadium, this was also demolished in order to make way for the Vasil Levski National Stadium, opened 1953. Because of this, Dinamo Sofia were given a new home in the north-eastern suburbs of the capital, while in the place of Yunak was built the much smaller Druzhba ("Friendship") stadium, which was used for many years as an ice rink.After the fall of communism, the disused ice rink regained the name of the original Yunak stadium, but was never again used as a sports facility and, as of the early 2000s, lies in ruins, which are visible between the national stadium and the Sofia Metro station that formerly bore the same name.The stadium has also been used for unorthodox "sports", such as live human chess during the reign of Tsar Boris.

Evlogi and Hristo Georgievi Boulevard (Bulgarian: Булевард Евлоги и Христо Георгиеви, usually referred to simply as Evlogi Georgiev, which was its name for most of the 20th Century) is an important boulevard in the Bulgarian capital Sofia. It is named after the Bulgarian entrepreneurs Evlogi and Hristo Georgiev. During Bulgaria's alliance with the Third Reich the street's name was Adolf Hitler Boulevard.It begins with its intersection with the Cherni Vrah Boulevard and Fridtjof Nansen Street in the area of the National Palace of Culture. To the south of the NPC it is called Bulgaria Boulevard. Evlogi Georgiev Blvd is crossed by several of the capital's major transport arteries such as the Dragan Tsankov Boulevard and Graf Ignatiev Street (which form one juncture with Evlogi Georgiev) and Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard and Tsarigrad Road at Orlov Most (which also form one juncture). Along the boulevard are situated the National Stadium Vasil Levski, 120 High School Georgi S. Rakovski, Pope John Paul II Square, Military Academy G. S. Rakovski, Spanish Language School and others. For its entire length of around 2 km, the boulevard follows the Perlovska river, with its lanes on either side of the artificially-widened riverbed.

Patriarch Evtimiy Square (Bulgarian: площад „Патриарх Евтимий“, ploshtad Patriarh Evtimiy), more popularly known as Popa (Попа, "The Priest"), is a small urban square and a busy intersection in the centre of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The square was named after Evtimiy of Tarnovo, Patriarch of Bulgaria from 1375 to 1393 and one of the most important figures of medieval Bulgaria; a monument to Evtimiy by sculptor Marko Markov has adorned the square since 1939. Patriarch Evtimiy Square is located at the crossing of the car-free Graf Ignatiev Street, Vasil Levski Boulevard and Patriarch Evtimiy Boulevard, which branches off Vasil Levski at the square. Due to its central location, between Sofia University and Orlov most to the east and the National Palace of Culture to the west, it is a very popular meeting point, particularly for teenagers and young adults.The Odeon Cinema lies in the western part of the square and the Bulgartabac headquarters lie to the south of it. Other nearby landmarks include Slaveykov Square to the north along Graf Ignatiev Street and the Vasil Levski National Stadium to the southeast. The square is well connected to many parts of Sofia through the nearby tramway, trolleybus and bus stops; many routed taxicabs of the marshrutka network also pass near the square. St. Patriarch Evtimiy Metro Station of Sofia Metro is located under the square.

St. Patriarch Evtimiy (Bulgarian: Св. Патриарх Евтимий) is a Sofia Metro station on M3 line. It was opened on 26 August 2020 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Hadzhi Dimitar to Krasno Selo. The station is located between Orlov Most and NDK II.

The Sveti Sedmochislenitsi Church (Bulgarian: църква „Свети Седмочисленици“) and formerly The Black Mosque (Turkish: Kara Camii) is a Bulgarian Orthodox church in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. It was created between 1901 and 1902 as an Ottoman mosque later converted into orthodox Church, and was inaugurated on 27 July 1903. The church is named after Cyril and Methodius and their five disciples, known in the Orthodox Church collectively as the Sedmochislenitsi. The Black Mosque (Bulgarian: Черна джамия, romanized: Cherna dzhamiya; Turkish: Kara Camii) was built in 1528 on the order of Suleiman the Magnificent with the intention to be more impressive and beautiful than the Christian churches in the city. The mosque is popularly attributed to the famous Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan, although this is uncertain. It was constructed at the place of a former nunnery of the Rila Monastery and an Early Christian temple from the 4th-5th century, the ruins of which were excavated in 1901. An even older construction, a pagan temple of Asclepius from Roman Serdica, was also discovered in the mosque's foundations. The 25 m-long mosque had a square shape and a large lead-covered dome. The mosque was initially known as the Koca Mehmed Pasha Mosque after Mehmed-paša Sokolović. Another name was the İmaret Mosque after the imaret, a kitchen for the poor located in the vicinity, the ruins of which were found in 1912. A madrasah, a Muslim religious school, was located in what is now the small garden between the modern church and the Count Ignatiev School. The madrasah was later used as a prison after the Liberation of Bulgaria. Other Ottoman constructions nearby included a caravanserai and a hammam. The mosque received its more popular name, the Black Mosque, after the dark granite from which its minaret was made. The minaret collapsed during an earthquake in the 19th century and the mosque was abandoned by the Ottomans after the Liberation of Bulgaria in 1878 to become used as a military warehouse and prison. The architect who suggested the conversion of the once Ottoman mosque into a Christian church was the Russian Alexander Pomerantsev, responsible for the Upper Trade Rows on Red Square, among other buildings. The Bulgarian architects Yordan Milanov and Petko Momchilov designed the dome, the narthex and the bell tower in a traditional Bulgarian style, inspired by the movement of Romanticism. Only the central hall and the dome of the former mosque were preserved, with four oval bays, a narthex and an altar section being added. The construction works took a year, between 27 May 1901 and 6 May 1902, but the complete inner decoration did not finish until 1996. Young artists painted the icons and among the first donors were Tsar Ferdinand (recognized as the primary church donor in 1905) and Ivan Evstratiev Geshov. Famous Bulgarian statesman Petko Karavelov also contributed significantly to the church's construction and was buried nearby in January 1903. The large candlesticks in front of the altar were cast in 1903 from obsolete police badges from Eastern Rumelia and the Principality of Bulgaria (i.e. before the Unification in 1885). An electric clock, still in use, was created by the noted watchmaker Georgi Hadzhinikolov and fit to the western façade in the 1930s. The small garden and the square close to the church were also built in the period. In the grounds of the Sveti Sedmochislenitsi is buried alongside his wife Petko Stoichev Karavelov (Bulgarian: Петко Каравелов) (24 March 1843 – 24 January 1903) a leading Bulgarian liberal politician, who served as Prime Minister on four occasions.

Vasil Levski National Stadium (Bulgarian: Национален стадион „Васил Левски“), named after Bulgarian national hero and revolutionary Vasil Levski, is the country's second largest stadium. The stadium has 43,230 seats and is located in the centre of Sofia, on the territory of the city's oldest and most famous park - the Borisova gradina. The Bulgaria national football team's home matches and the Bulgarian Cup finals are held at the venue, as well as athletics competitions. It was used as the home venue for Levski Sofia's Champions League games, and is often used for important derbies between the big clubs from Sofia, instead of their own home stadiums.

Sredets (Bulgarian: Средец [srɛˈdɛt͡s]) is a district located in the very centre of the capital Sofia. As of 2006 it has 41,000 inhabitants. The district has an area of around 300 hectares or 3 km2. Its borders follow Sitnyakovo Boulevard, Yavorov Alley to the east; Dragan Tsankov Boulevard, Evlogi Georgiev Boulevard to the south and south-west; Fridtjof Nansen Street, Vitosha Boulevard to the west; Dondukov Boulevard, Moskovska Str, Shipka Str, Khan Omurtag Str to the north. There are many green spaces and gardens. Sredets also includes the northernmost parts of Borisova gradina Park. Two of the most emblematic football stadiums in Bulgaria are located among the pleasant alleys of the park: Vasil Levski National Stadium where the Bulgaria national football team plays its home matches and the venue of Bulgaria's most successful football team CSKA Sofia, Balgarska Armiya Stadium. There are 7 schools and 4 kindergartens.

The Monument to the Soviet Army (Bulgarian: Паметник на Съветската армия, Pametnik na Savetskata armia) is a monument located in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. There is a large park around the statue and the surrounding areas. It is a popular place where many young people gather. The monument is located on Tsar Osvoboditel Boulevard, near Orlov Most and the Sofia University. It portrays a soldier from the Soviet Army as a freedom fighter, surrounded by a Bulgarian woman, holding her baby, and a Bulgarian man. There are other, secondary sculptural composition parts of the memorial complex around the main monument, like the group of soldiers which have been used many times as a canvas by political artists. The monument was built in 1954 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the liberation by the Soviet Army, which is the general Russian interpretation of the complex Military history of Bulgaria during World War II.

The Memorial Tomb of Alexander I of Battenberg (Bulgarian: Гробница паметник „Александър І Батенберг", Grobnitsa pametnik „Aleksandar І Batenberg"), better known as the Battenberg Mausoleum (Мавзолей на Батенберг, Mavzoley na Batenberg) in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, is the mausoleum and final resting place of Prince Alexander I of Bulgaria (1857–1893), the first Head of State of modern Bulgaria. Commissioned to the Swiss architect Hermann Mayer, designed in the eclectic style (with prominent elements of Neo-Baroque and Neoclassicism) and opened in 1897, the mausoleum measures 11 metres in height and 80 square metres in area. The interior was painted by the noted Bulgarian artist Haralampi Tachev. The Battenberg Mausoleum is located at 81 Vasil Levski Boulevard. It was partially restored in 2005. When Alexander died in exile in Graz, Austria in 1893, he was initially buried there. However, in accordance with his wish, his remains were transferred to the Bulgarian capital. He was given a state funeral attended by the new prince, Ferdinand of Bulgaria, Alexander's widow Johanna Loisinger, and a great number of Bulgarians. Following a service in the St Nedelya Church his body was moved to the Church of St George and subsequently to the newly constructed mausoleum in the centre of the city. The mausoleum was closed between 1947 and 1991, during the period of Communist rule in Bulgaria, but was subsequently reopened for the public. Today it also exhibits some of Alexander's private possessions and papers, donated by his wife in 1937.

Lycée Français Alphonse de Lamartine de Sofia (LFAL, in Bulgarian: 9-та френска езикова гимназия „Алфонс дьо Ламартин", ФЕГ) is a selective French language school in Sofia, established in 1961 under the name 9th French Language School Georgi Kirkov. Since the early 1990s, it has been named after the French nobleman, poet, diplomat and politician Alphonse de Lamartine, who visited and resided in the Bulgarian lands in 1832. The Lycée is the only Bulgarian school to offer bilingual French-speaking course to all its students and has been the described as "the most important French-speaking secondary school in Bulgaria" as well as "the heart of the academic Francophonie in Bulgaria" by the Agency for French Education Abroad. It is regarded as one of the most prestigious schools in Sofia and its students have consistently ranked among the top performers in the national matriculation exams.As of the 2020–2021 academic year, the school had 987 students and 83 staff members, with a student-teacher ratio of 1:14.
