Neely Henry Lake

Ohatchee (inc. 1956) is a town in Calhoun County, Alabama, United States. At the 2020 census, the population was 1,157. It is included in the Anniston–Oxford, Alabama Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Eli Henderson Park at Janney Furnace is a park surrounding a fifty-foot tall stone furnace in Ohatchee, Alabama. The furnace was built in 1863 by Alfred Janney to produce pig iron due to the prevalence of iron ore in what is now the park. A July 1864 Union raid destroyed all but the stone chimney, which still remains. The furnace is now surrounded by the Calhoun County Confederate Memorial, built by Sons of Confederate Veterans in June 2003; and the 2009 Confederate and Native American Museum, which includes Civil War and Native American artifacts dating back to the Iron Age. The Confederate Memorial is the world's largest black granite confederate memorial. The furnace was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and the surrounding park was re-named in honor of Eli Henderson in 2020, who sought to preserve it.

Southside is a city located in Etowah County in the U.S. state of Alabama. It is included in the Gadsden Metropolitan Statistical Area. It incorporated in 1957. The population was 8,412 at the time of the 2010 United States Census. Located 8 to 12 miles (13 to 19 km) south of downtown Gadsden, Southside is one of the fastest-growing cities in northeast Alabama. The current Mayor, elected in 2020, is Dana Snyder.

Fort Strother was a stockade fort at Ten Islands in the Mississippi Territory, in what is today St. Clair County, Alabama. It was located on a bluff of the Coosa River, near the modern Neely Henry Dam in Ragland, Alabama. The fort was built by General Andrew Jackson and several thousand militiamen in November 1813, during the Creek War and was named for Captain John Strother, Jackson's chief cartographer.

Southside High School is the largest school in the Etowah County School System, serving 900 students in grades 9–12. The students come from the communities of Southside and Rainbow City. The school is housed in a building constructed in 2007. Their mascot is the panther, and their colors are maroon and black.Southside High School has a 91% graduation rate. Its student population is 92.2% White, 3.6% Black, 2.2% Hispanic and 2.0% other.

Rainbow City is a city in Etowah County, Alabama, United States. It incorporated in 1950. The population was 9,602 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Gadsden Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Macon, also known as Macon Quarters, is an unincorporated community in Calhoun County, Alabama, United States.

Camp Sibert was a U.S. Army chemical weapons training facility in Etowah County, Alabama, and St. Clair County, Alabama, during the World War II era. Covering 32,000 acres, it was acquired by the Army in 1942. The site has been redeveloped, including a residential community. Concerns over chemical contamination and unexploded ordnance remain.The camp was commanded by General Haig Shekerjian, an Armenian-American. Private A. Baligian of the U.S. Army visited Camp Sibert and conducted a brief interview with Shekerjian for the June 16, 1943, issue of Hairenik Weekly (later renamed the Armenian Weekly).
