Store Torv (lit. Great Square) is a public square located in the Indre By neighborhood in Aarhus, Denmark. It is situated between Lille Torv and Aarhus Cathedral, shaped as an elongated triangle. It is the largest public square in Aarhus and one of the oldest venues for markets in the city. The square is home to many notable buildings including the dominating cathedral and is frequently host to cultural events.Store Torv is part of the pedestrian zone in the inner city and connects directly to the squares of Lille Torv, Skt. Clemens Torv, Bispetorv and Domkirketorvet.

Aarhus Craftsmen's Association's Asylum (Danish language: Århus Håndværkerforenings Asyl) is a listed building and a former asylum in Aarhus, Denmark. The building was finished in 1866 and was listed in the Danish national registry of protected buildings and places by the Danish Heritage Agency on 27 September 1980. The building is situated on Paradisgade in the central Indre by neighbourhood.

Domkirkepladsen 1 is a listed building and the former Bank of Denmark branch building in Aarhus, Denmark. The bank was built in 1926 and was listed in the Danish national registry of protected buildings and places by the Danish Heritage Agency on 22 February 1996. The bank is situated on the Store Torv square in the central Indre by neighbourhood next to the cathedral where it has functioned as a bank since its completion until today. The building is no longer in use by the Bank of Denmark but still functions as a bank, occupied by a branch of Nykredit.

Aarhus Cathedral (Danish: Århus Domkirke) is a cathedral in Aarhus, Denmark. It is the longest and tallest church in the country, at 93 m (305 ft) in length and 96 m (315 ft) in height. The construction of Aarhus Cathedral began in the 12th century and it is the main edifice of the diocese of Aarhus for the Church of Denmark, dedicated to the patron saint of sailors, St Clemens. The cathedral is situated on the port side of the central square of Store Torv (Large Square), with address "Domkirkepladsen 2, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark" in the inner city. The church can seat around 1200 people.Aarhaus Cathedral is a listed building and was designated 1 February 2012.

Aarhus (, US also , Danish: [ˈɒːˌhuˀs] (listen); officially spelled Århus from 1948 until 1 January 2011) is the second-largest city in Denmark and the seat of Aarhus Municipality. It is located on the eastern shore of Jutland in the Kattegat sea and approximately 187 kilometres (116 mi) northwest of Copenhagen. Dating back to the late 8th century, Aarhus was founded as a harbour settlement at the mouth of the Aarhus River and quickly became a trade hub. The city began to grow significantly as trade prospered in the mid-18th century, but not until the mid-19th century did the Industrial Revolution bring real growth in population. The first railway line in Jutland was built here in 1862. In 1928, the first university in Jutland was founded in Aarhus and today it is a university city and the largest centre for trade, services, industry, and tourism in Jutland. Aarhus Cathedral is the longest cathedral in Denmark with a total length of 93 m (305 ft). The Church of our Lady (Vor Frue Kirke) was originally built in 1060, making it the oldest stone church in Scandinavia. The City Hall, designed by Arne Jacobsen and Erik Møller, was completed in 1941 in a modern Functionalist style. Aarhus Theatre, the largest provincial theatre in Denmark, opposite the cathedral on Bispetorvet, was built by Hack Kampmann in the Art Nouveau style and completed in 1916. Musikhuset Aarhus (concert hall) and Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium (Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus/Aalborg) are also of note, as are its museums including the open-air museum Den Gamle By, the art museum ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum, the Moesgård Museum and the women's museum Kvindemuseet. City of Smiles) it is the Danish city with the youngest demographics and home to Scandinavia's largest university, Aarhus University. Commercially, the city is the principal container port in the country, and major Danish companies such as Vestas, Arla Foods, Salling Group, and Jysk have their headquarters there.

Thorup's Kælder (lit. 'Thorup's Basement') is a listed structure and a bar in Aarhus, Denmark. It is a basement built approximately 1300 by Cistercian monks. The basement was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places by the Danish Heritage Agency on 1 January 1959. The listing is officially "Den Grå Kannikegård" (English: The Grey Canon House) which refers to the entirety of the building at the address although only the basement beneath it is protected. The structure is situated in the historic Latin Quarter neighbourhood on Store Torv adjacent to the Cathedral.

Graven is a street in Aarhus, Denmark. Graven was created some time before year 1500 on and in the northernmost moat used to defend the early Viking settlement. It is one of the oldest streets in the city and used to mark the northern city limits along with Klostergade. Graven runs 220 meter west to east from Klostergade to Mejlgade and is situated in the historic Latin Quarter neighborhood. Graven is fairly narrow and is a designated one-way street for motorized traffic in the direction of Mejlgade towards Klostergade. Graven is characterized by low housing, cafés and speciality shops, and has much foot and bicycle traffic. As Klostergade and Mejlgade, Graven is a shared bikeway, part of the city's bicycle infrastructure network.

Ryesgade is a 240-meter-long street in Aarhus, Denmark. It is located in the central Town Center neighborhood and runs south to north from Banegårdspladsen to Søndergade and provides access to Rosenkrantzgade. Ryesgade is today one the busiest commercial pedestrianized streets in Denmark. It was created in 1873 as an extension to Søndergade to connect the Central Station to the rest of the inner city. Ryesgade is one of several streets in Denmark named for the Danish general Olaf Rye who became famous for his exploits during the First Schleswig War.Ryesgade is part of the 750 meters long pedestrian zone Strøget which runs from Aarhus Central Station to Aarhus Cathedral, consisting of the streets Søndergade, St. Clemens Street and Ryesgade. Strøget has about 47,000 visitors each day and some 14 million visitors annually, placing it among the busiest commercial streets in Denmark.

The Viking Museum (Danish: Vikingemuseet) is a small underground museum in central Aarhus, Denmark. It is located at Sankt Clemens Torv (square of St. Clement), beneath the Nordea bank building. The Viking Museum is administered by the Moesgård Museum and financed by both Aarhus Municipality and Nordea.

Rosensgade 38 is a house and a listed building in Aarhus, Denmark. The house was built in approximately 1600 and was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places by the Danish Heritage Agency on 21 March 2012. The building is situated in the historic Latin Quarter neighborhood on Pustervig square in the city center.

Aarhus Old City Hall is the former city hall of Aarhus, Denmark, and a listed building. The city hall was built in 1857 and was listed in the Danish national registry of protected buildings and places by the Danish Heritage Agency on 18 March 1996. It is the second, and oldest preserved, city hall of Aarhus. The city Hall is situated next to Aarhus Cathedral on the corner of Domkirkepladsen and Mejlgade in the central Indre By neighbourhood and has functioned as city hall, police station and today as a museum, housing both the Women's Museum and the Occupation Museum.

KØN - Gender Museum Denmark, formerly Kvindemuseet (Women's Museum), is a history museum in Aarhus, Denmark focused on the cultural history of gender and sexuality in Denmark. KØN was originally founded in 1982 as a women's history museum, and is housed in the former Aarhus City Hall, built in 1857. In 2016, the museum's thematic focus was expanded to encompass issues of gender and sexuality in the broadest sense, and as a result of that, the museum's name was changed to KØN (Gender in English) in 2021.As of 2012, the museum operated on a budget of DKK 10 million from state, municipal and private funding. There is a café and bakery at KØN.
