Psou

Leselidze (Georgian: ლესელიძე, Leselidze; Armenian: Լեսելիձե; Russian: Леселидзе) or Gyachrypsh (Abkhaz: Гьачрыҧшь, G'achryphsh; Russian: Гячрыпш) is a town in Abkhazia. Formerly named Yermolovsk, the town is located on the shores of the Black Sea and is 14 kilometers from the city of Gagra.

Vesyoloye (Russian: Весёлое, IPA: [vʲɪˈsʲɵləɪ]) is a rural locality (a selo) in Nizhneshilovsky Rural Okrug under the administrative jurisdiction of Adlersky City District of the City of Sochi. Population: 4,100 (2002 est.).

Leselidze (Gyachrypsh) is a halt on the Psou - Engur railway line in Abkhazia. In some schedules it is listed as a halt at km 2,000. According to 2003 data, it was listed in railway atlases as Leselidze platform of Georgian railways Samtredia department, station code 57441, code express 3 2800810. The actual platform relates to the Abkhaz railway stop at Gyachrypsh. A small station building was built in the 1950s, but it was abandoned as of 2003. From June 26, 2010, two pairs of commuter trains between Adler and Gagra stop here during the day. The station layout consists of one high-side platform used for traffic in both directions.

Imeretinsky Kurort railway station (Russian: Имеретинский курорт) is a railway station of the North Caucasus Railway, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, located in Adler District of Sochi, Krasnodar Krai, Russia.

The Sochi Autodrom (Russian: Сочи Автодром, romanized: Sochi Avtodrom), previously known as the Sochi International Street Circuit and the Sochi Olympic Park Circuit, is a 5.848 km (3.634 mi) permanent race track in the settlement of Sirius next to the Black Sea resort city of Sochi in Krasnodar Krai, Russia.The circuit runs around a former Olympic complex, the Sochi Olympic Park site, scene of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The TCR International Series raced at Sochi in 2015 and 2016, with the TCR Russian Series and SMP F4 Championship as support series.The inaugural World Championship Russian Grand Prix took place in 2014, with the circuit hosting the Grand Prix up to 2021. The contract was terminated before the 2022 edition due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Salme (Georgian: სალმე, Abkhaz: Ԥсоу, Estonian: Salme, Russian: Сальме) is a village in Abkhazia, Georgia. It was founded in 1884 by Estonian resettlers from Kuusalu, Governorate of Estonia. In 1989 the village had 1659 inhabitants, mostly Estonians, Armenians, Georgians and Russians. Nowadays, most of the inhabitants are Abkhaz, as most of the Estonians were repatriated back to Estonia during the 1992-1993 Georgian-Abkhaz war. The village has subsequently been renamed Psou by Abkhaz authorities after the Psou River.

The Imereti Lowlands (Georgian: იმერეთის დაბლობი, Russian: Имеретинская низменность) is located in western Georgia and continues on the coast of the Black Sea between the Mzymta and Psou rivers in the Krasnodar Krai, Russia. It meets the sea in the Adler district of Sochi city. The name derives from the Georgian region of Imereti. The Imereti Lowlands was an important bird area protected since 1911, most of which was destroyed during the construction of the Coastal cluster of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The project included hotel complexes that would have a combined total of 5,600 rooms. The largest of these hotels was built on 36 hectares in the Imereti Lowlands. The Lowlands would also have a four-star, 700-room hotel for dignitaries and guests attending the Games. An ornithological park was officially created on approximately 300 hectares of lands left unoccupied by the olympic infrastructure, but most of the land was inadequate for this purpose.

The Iceberg Skating Palace (Russian: Дворец Зимнего Спорта Айсберг) is a 12,000-seat multi-purpose arena at Sochi Olympic Park in Sochi, Russia. The venue hosted the figure skating and short track speed skating events at the 2014 Winter Olympics. It cost $43.9 million, including the temporary works for the Olympics. 15,000 tonnes of steel were used. The environment was taken into consideration in its construction.A local figure skating competition was held in October 2012 but the International Skating Union said more work was needed to be ready for the 2012–2013 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, a test event in December 2012. At the Grand Prix Final, competitors said they liked the venue but some spectators complained about handrails obstructing the view in the upper tier. It takes about two hours to adjust the ice when switching from figure skating to short track or vice versa.Plans had originally existed for the arena to converted into a cycling velodrome following the Olympics.

The closing ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics was held on 23 February 2014 from 20:14 to 22:25 MSK (UTC+4) at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi, Russia. It was designed to show Russian culture, through a European perspective, and featured performances by Yuri Bashmet, Valery Gergiev, Denis Matsuev, Hibla Gerzmava, and Tatiana Samouil, among others.

The opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics took place at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi, Russia, on 7 February 2014. It began at 20:14 MSK (UTC+4) and finished at 23:02 MSK (UTC+4). It was filmed and produced by OBS and Russian host broadcasters Channel One and VGTRK. This was the first Winter Olympics and first Olympic Games opening ceremony under the IOC presidency of Thomas Bach. This was also the second consecutive Winter Olympic opening ceremony to be held in an indoor stadium. The Games were officially opened by President Vladimir Putin. An audience of 40,000 were in attendance at the stadium with an estimated 2,000 performers.
