Pulakeshinagar Assembly constituency is one of the 224 constituencies in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly of Karnataka a south state of India. It is also part of Bangalore North Lok Sabha constituency.

Bangalore East railway station (station code: BNCE) is an old British Era Railway Station surrounded by Pottery Road, Kumaraswamy Naidu Road, Murgesha Mudaliar Road and Kenchappa Road, is a small quaint station located in Fraser Town, Bangalore Cantonment. This station is very convenient for residents traveling towards or returning from Kolar Gold Fields or Madras. Express and Mail trains did not stop here till the 1920s. The station is now renovated with a larger platform. Adjacent to railway station, there is the Bangalore East Football Grounds, which nowadays is more used for playing Cricket. Well known cartoonist Paul Fernandes remembers as a young boy befriending train drivers at this station, and getting grease for his bicycle.

Pulakeshi Nagara, commonly known as Fraser Town. It is a suburb of Bangalore Cantonment, in Bangalore North-East, spread over 4 km2. It was established in 1906 and is named after Stuart Mitford Fraser (1864-1963), who was the tutor and guardian of Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV, Maharaja of Mysore. Fraser Town was established to de-congest the growing Bangalore Civil and Military Station (otherwise known as the Bangalore Cantonment). The foundation of Fraser Town was laid in August 1910 by Mrs. F J Richards, with a commemorative plaque on the corner of Coles Road and Mosque Road. Fraser Town is a residential and commercial suburb, the prominent roads being Promenade Road, Netaji Road, Madhavraya Mudaliar Road (M M Road), Haines Road, Spencer Road, Wheeler Road, Mosque Road, etc. The suburb is known for its communal harmony with Hindus, Muslims and Christians living side by side in peace. Before being known as Fraser Town, the suburb was called Mootocherry by the locals. In 1988, the BBMP renamed Fraser Town as Pulakeshinagar, after an ancient King who ruled the Deccan. However, the name has not caught on and continues to be popularly known as Fraser Town.

Pottery Town is an upcoming underground metro station on the North-South corridor of the Pink Line of Namma Metro in Bangalore, India. This metro station will comprise of the main Bangalore East and Banaswadi railway stations along with many prime locations like St. Anthony's Chapel, BBMP Regional Office (Pulikeshi Nagar) and surrounding suburban areas like Williams Town, Fraser Town, Cox Town and Richards Town. This metro station is stated to become operational around March 2025.

Goodwill's Girls School is located at Promenade Road, Fraser Town, Bangalore Cantonment. Formerly known as the Wesleyan Tamil School, the school was renamed after Rev. Fred Goodwill, a British Missionary and Tamil scholar, who served as the manager of the school, in his capacity as Superintendent of the Wesleyan Tamil Mission, Bangalore and Kolar Gold Fields.

St. Germain High School is an unaided private institution, established in January 1944. The school began in the former Clergy and Archbishop's House, which had housed St. Joseph's Boys' High School before it moved to its present location in Richmond Town. The school was named after a French priest Rev. Fr. Saint Germain. The school is managed by the Archdiocesan Board of Education, under the chairmanship of the Archbishop of Bangalore. The school is recognized by the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE) Delhi.

The Syro-Malabar Catholic Eparchy of Ramanathapuram is situated in Ramanathapuram locality in Coimbatore of Tamil Nadu. The eparchy includes Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode and Karur districts. Its territory is extended to Salem and Trichy on 10-10-2017. The eparchy of Ramanathapuram was created in 2010 by bifurcating the Syro-Malabar Catholic eparchy of Palghat. The present Bishop of Ramanathapuram is Mar Paul Alappat. Holy Trinity Church, Ramanathapuram is the cathedral of the eparchy and the bishop's residence is also at Ramanathapuram. The eparchy is a suffragan of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Archeparchy of Thrissur. The diocese was created by Mar Varkey Cardinal Vithayathil, by his decree on 18 January 2010. The eparchy has an area of 18,525 km2 with a total population of 89, 24,717 of which around 15,694 are Syro-Malabar Catholics.

The Roman Catholic Metropolitan Archdiocese of Bangalore (Latin: Archidioecesis Bangalorensis) is an ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in India. It was erected as pro-vicariate from (16 March 1845 to 2 April 1850), as Vicariate from (3 April 1850 - 31 August 1886), as Diocese of Mysore - Bangalore in the Ecclesiastical Metropolitan Province of Pondicherry in Southern India from (1 September 1886 - 12 February 1940), as Diocese of Bangalore on 13 February 1940 by Pope Pius XII, and elevated to the rank of a Metropolitan Archdiocese on 19 September 1953, with the Suffragan Dioceses of Belgaum, Bellary, Chikmagalur, Gulbarga, Karwar, Mangalore, Udupi, Mysore, and Shimoga. The archdiocese's mother church and thus seat of its archbishop is the St. Francis Xavier's Cathedral, Bangalore; Bangalore also houses St. Mary's Basilica. Bishop Peter Machado was appointed Archbishop of Bangalore by Pope Francis on 19 March 2018.

St. Francis Xavier's Cathedral is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Bangalore in India. Initially, Bangalore was the seat of the diocese of Mysore from 1886 to 1940 and during this time, St. Patrick's church in Bangalore was the cathedral of the diocese. When the diocese of Mysore was bifurcated on 13 February 1940 to form the diocese of Bangalore, St. Francis Xavier's church was chosen as its cathedral. The first church of St. Francis Xavier was constructed in 1851 by French missionaries of the Paris Foreign Missions Society. Due to the huge increase in the catholic population, this church eventually became inadequate. Hence in 1911, the foundation stone was laid for a new church. This church was inaugurated on 26 May 1932, which would become a cathedral in 1940. Two new domes of the facade were inaugurated on its platinum jubilee in the year 2009. Bangalore archbishop Bernard Moras re-dedicated the cathedral to St. Francis Xavier. The domes had been constructed along with several other renovations. Though they were part of the original plan of the cathedral, they could not be completed due to lack of funds.The cathedral's large compound has three schools: St. Aloysius', St. Anthony's and St. Rock's. There is also a Shrine dedicated to St. Anthony.

Tannery Road is located in the North East of Bangalore Cantonment, India. It is a 4 km long narrow road (about 40 ft. wide) with around 700 shops, named after the tanneries of the British India period located at the end of the Road. Tannery Road was officially renamed as Dr B S Ambedkar Road many years back, but it still is referred to by its old name. Tannery Road touches Fraser Town, Richards Town[1], Giddappa Block, Periyar Nagar and Pillanna Garden. The Tannery Road area is highly populated with a high density. The suburb presents a picture which is a shocking contrast to the hi-tech image of Bangalore. As elections has not brought about any changes, the residents express disillusionment with politicians and politics. Pot-holes and broken pavements are a common feature of Tannery Road, in addition to heavy traffic, water problems, garbage, etc. There is scant respect for traffic rules, and vehicles of all types zoom past in all directions. Residents have to dodge puddles of dirty water and garbage, to move around.

Cooke Town is a neighbourhood in Bangalore Cantonment, in Bangalore North-East, India. Built as a suburb before Indian Independence, it is one of Bangalore's oldest neighbourhoods, established when the Bangalore Civil and Military Station was governed by the Madras Government. Cooke Town is named after G H Cooke, President of the Bangalore Civil and Military Station Municipality between 1928 and 1934, with the Mayo Hall being constructed during his tenure. The suburb, along with other suburbs of the Bangalore Cantonment such as Fraser Town, Cox Town, Richmond Town, and Langford Town, has seen dynamic changes over last few years with large British Raj era bungalows being demolished to build luxury apartments. These developments have resulted in large scale tree-felling. However, Cooke Town still manages to retain some of its colonial charm, and is called the nicest place in the Cantonment by Bangalore historian Peter Colaco. Cooke Town is a posh neighbourhood with plenty of greenery, parks, educational institutions, hospitals and is at close proximity to the Bangalore East Railway Station and the Bangalore CBD. According to Colliers International, Cooke Town is one of Bangalore's most costliest neighbourhoods, with the cost of property being in the range to INR 70000-75000 per sq.ft (in January 2022), just slightly lesser than the Bangalore CBD.
