Jimmy Swaggart Ministries is a Christian evangelical organization located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The organization was founded in 1984 by Pentecostal televangelist Jimmy Swaggart. It also runs Jimmy Swaggart Bible College, and Family Worship Center, the megachurch Jimmy's son Donnie and grandson Gabriel, are pastors. It has an international outreach and has preached to millions of people across the world.

The Dunham School is an independent, inter-denominational, Christian, college-preparatory, coeducational day school in unincorporated East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. Located in the Oak Hills Place census-designated place, and founded in 1981, it serves students from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve. The school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Louisiana Department of Education and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools. The school also won a 2005 Blue Ribbon Award and has been recognized as a seven-time Apple Distinguished School for its one-to-one laptop program, which was started in 2009. It is in the proposed City of St. George.

The Hilltop Arboretum at Louisiana State University (14 acres) is an arboretum owned by the Louisiana State University. It is located at 11855 Highland Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and open to the public free of charge during daylight hours seven days a week. The arboretum was developed by Mr. and Mrs. Emory Smith, starting in 1929, and donated to the university in 1981. The Smiths planned the garden to follow the form of a cathedral: "It had a central great hall or nave, and from that – in every direction – ran hallways leading to other rooms and on to others, with niches and passageways of every description. The nave and other rooms were the grassy plots; the walls were trees, shrubs, and bamboo; the pillars were old tree trunks."The arboretum collection includes bamboo, beech, birch, black cherry, black walnut, box elder, buckeye, camellia, cherry laurel, cow oak, clethra, crape myrtle, cypress, dogwood, elm, fig, Formosan gum, green hawthorn, hickory, hop hornbeam, holly, illicium, ironwood, Japanese maple, Justicia, ligustrum, magnolia, live oak, loquat, pecan, persimmon, pine, red maple, red oak, sassafras, sawtooth oak, short leaf pine, silver bell, silver maple, sourwood, spruce pine, sugar maple, sweet gum, sweet olive, sycamore, tulip tree, viburnum, vaccinium, water oak, and yaupon.

Baton Rouge General Medical Center – Bluebonnet Campus is a 201-bed, private hospital located at 8585 Picardy Avenue in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The hospital offers various medical services and surgical procedures in addition to an Emergency Department. The hospital is a subsidiary of General Health System (GHS), the corporate parent of Baton Rouge General that handles some administrative functions for the hospital. In addition to Baton Rouge General Medical Center, the GHS Organization includes Baton Rouge General Physicians, Mid City Redevelopment Alliance, Baton Rouge General Medical Center's Foundation and other programs spanning over the Capital city's nine-parish service area. The Mall of Louisiana is a mid-scale shopping mall in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, between I-10 and Bluebonnet Blvd. It is the largest mall in Louisiana and contains the third largest indoor carousel in the world. It is the only regional mall in Baton Rouge. The anchor stores are 2 Dillard's stores, Main Event Entertainment, JCPenney, and Macy's. The Boulevard is an unenclosed area of the mall that opened in 2008. Retailers and eateries include: Apple Inc., Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor Loft, BJ's Brewhouse, Chico's, Soma Intimates, C&J Clark, L'Occitane en Provence, Jos. A. Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University, formerly Our Lady of the Lake College, is a private Catholic university in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was founded in 1923 and is sponsored by the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady, North American Province. The university has an enrollment of approximately 1700 students. It offers associate, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.

Mount Hope Plantation House is a historic plantation house located at 8151 Highland Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was built in 1817 and it is the only farmhouse of its kind remaining in the Baton Rouge area.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 3, 1980.

Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center (OLOLRMC) is a general medical and surgical facility located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It is a Catholic hospital member of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (FMOLHS). The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission, and it serves as a teaching hospital to Our Lady of the Lake College, Louisiana State University, Tulane University, and Southern University. OLOLRMC is the dominant institution in healthcare in the Greater Baton Rouge area and the largest private medical center in Louisiana, with over 1,020 beds. In a given year, OLOLRMC treats approximately 25,000 patients in the hospital, and services about 350,000 persons through outpatient locations. It has a complement of almost 900 physicians and 3,000 staff members. The Lake also operates two nursing homes, has an affiliated cancer facility adjacent to the main hospital, and operates a number of outpatient services on its campus as well as in outlying locations.
