Tap Seac Square

The Macau Peninsula is the most populous and historical part of Macau. It has an area of 8.5 square kilometers (3.3 sq mi) (4 by 1.8 kilometers (2.5 mi × 1.1 mi)) and is geographically connected to Guangdong Province at the northeast through an isthmus 200 meters (660 ft) wide. The peninsula, together with downtown Zhuhai, sits on an island separated from the continent by distributaries of the Pearl River. The Border Gate (Chinese: 關閘; Portuguese: Portas do Cerco) was built on the northern isthmus. At the south, the peninsula is connected to Taipa Island by three bridges, the Friendship Bridge (Ponte de Amizade); the Macau-Taipa Bridge (Ponte Governador Nobre de Carvalho); and the Sai Van Bridge (Ponte de Sai Van). The longest axis extends 4 kilometers (2.5 mi) from the Border Gate to the southwestern edge, Barra (媽閣嘴). There is a western "Inner Harbor" (內港) paralleled by an "Outer Harbor" (外港) to the east. The 93 meters (305 ft) Guia Hill (松山) is the highest point on the peninsula, which has an average elevation of 50 to 75 meters (164 to 246 ft). Many coastal places are reclaimed from the sea. The Historic Centre of Macau, which is entirely on the Macau Peninsula, became a World Heritage Site in 2005.

The Macao Central Library (Chinese: 澳門中央圖書館; Portuguese: Biblioteca Central de Macau) is a library of the Macao Public Library system, in São Lázaro (Saint Lazarus Parish), Macau.

The Archives of Macao (Chinese: 澳門檔案館; Portuguese: Arquivo de Macau) is a general archive in São Lázaro, Macau. It collects, processes, protects and make available records pertaining Macau.

Escola Secundária Luso-Chinesa de Luís Gonzaga Gomes (ESLCLGG Chinese: 高美士中葡中學) is a public secondary school in São Lázaro, Macau. Named after Luís Gonzaga Gomes, it was established in 1985.The original site of the school was Macao Jiejie School(now Colegio Mateus Ricci). In 1986, it moved to the Macao School Complex (now the Macao Polytechnic University) and was named Escola Secundária e Preparatória Sino-Portuguesa de Luis Gonzaga Gomes. In 1989, the school was part of the elementary school and was renamed Escola Secundaria Luso-Chinesa de Luis Gonzaga Gomes, providing regular grammar middle school courses for junior high school to high school. In order to more effectively develop secondary education, the school moved to the current location of Avenida de Sidónio Pais, Macao, in 1995, and the school itself has continued to develop. In 2002, the school building expansion project began. Two new school buildings were built on both sides of the original main building and completed in 2003. To provide regular grammar secondary school courses for Macao school-age children, and to cultivate trilogy and four languages (Cantonese, Mandarin, Portuguese and English). The school is divided into Chinese and Portuguese sections. The school has four departments, which are: The Chinese Day School: The Chinese language is the main language of instruction, and the regular grammar combined junior high school and senior high school course of six years (Grade 7 to Grade 12). The Portuguese Day School: Opened in 1998, with Portuguese as the main language of instruction, providing regular grammar secondary school courses for junior high school students (Grade 7 to Grade 9). Secondary Adult Night School: Founded in 1999, it provides formal courses for junior high school and high school for adults who fail to complete secondary school in Macau. The unit system is the basis of the curriculum. Originally taught only at night, and opened in 2005. Portuguese Adult Night School: Opened in 1998, the Portuguese language is the main language of instruction, providing night junior high school and high school courses.

Yuet Wah College (Portuguese: Colégio Yuet Wah; Chinese: 粵華中學; abbr: YWC), often referred to as Yuet Wah, is a Macau all-boys Catholic preschool through secondary school in São Lázaro (St. Lazarus Parish), Macau. It was founded in 1925, making it one of the oldest secondary schools in Macau. It is accredited by the Salesians of Don Bosco. The school aims to provide a liberal education based on Catholic principles; its students are encouraged to be well-rounded. School teams participate in various inter-school sports and music competitions. In 2001, a primary school division was opened on Colégio Dom Bosco (Yuet Wah) campus. Yuet Wah College has a long list of notable alumni, including entrepreneurs, politicians, musicians, actors, four members of the Macau Executive Council and two members of the Macau cabinet.

The Tap Seac Multi-sports Pavilion (Chinese: 塔石體育館; Portuguese: Pavilhão Polidesportivo Tap Seac) is an indoor sporting arena located in São Lázaro, Macau, China. The land on which the Tap Seac Multi-sport Pavilion sits at present belongs to the Ho-Tung Primary School. It acts as a substitute for the Tap Seac Football Ground which was formerly located diagonally across the road and was demolished to make way for the new Tap Seac Plaza and Pedestrian Zone. The pavilion covers a total area of more than 5,500 square metres and offers a seating capacity of over 4,000. Apart from the main playing area there is also a warm-up hall which provides facilities for basketball training. It is suitable for a variety of indoor sports such as aerobics, gymnastics, and basketball. The venue was officially opened in 2004. It was one of the venues for the 2005 East Asian Games, the 2006 Lusophony Games and the 2007 Asian Indoor Games.

São Lázaro is the smallest civil parish (Portuguese: freguesia) of Macau, located in the central-east region of the Macau Peninsula. It is surrounded by the parishes of Nossa Senhora de Fátima, Santo António, and Sé. This parish was one of five in the former Municipality of Macau, one of Macau's two municipalities that were abolished on 31 December 2001 by Law No. 17/2001, following the 1999 transfer of sovereignty over Macau from Portugal to China. While their administrative functions have since been removed, these parishes are still retained nominally. One-third of its region is covered by Guia Hill (Portuguese: Colina da Guia, 松山 or 東望洋山). 3% of factories in Macau are located in the district.

Victory Garden (Chinese: 得勝花園; Portuguese: Jardim da Vitória) is a park in São Lázaro, Macau, China. The park was built to commemorate the victory by the Portuguese over the Dutch in 1622.The park features a statute commemorating the historic event, a tree, benches and flowers that line the pathways from Avenida de Sidónio Pais.

Zhongshan Island, formerly also known as Macau Island or Xiangshan Island, is a river island on the west bank of the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong, China. This area is separated from the mainland by a narrow waterway, and has a population of about 2.8 million. At the southern tip of the island is the peninsular part of the Macao Special Administrative Region. The rest of the island (and more than 70% of the population) is part of the cities of Zhongshan and Zhuhai. China considers the island to have been linked to the continent and is no longer an island since the time of Ming dynasty (14-17th century). There are also study which state the area was a group of islets and shoals by Ming dynasty.

The Macao Tea Culture House (Chinese: 澳門茶文化館; Portuguese: Casa Cultural de Chá de Macau) is a museum about tea in São Lázaro, Macau, China.

Lou Lim Ioc Garden (Chinese: 盧廉若公園; Portuguese: Jardim de Lou Lim Ioc) is a garden in São Lázaro, Macau, China. The garden was built in 1906 by local merchant Lou Kau as part of his residence, and its design follows the well-known Suzhou Gardens. It turned over to the Macau government in 1974 as a public park, which is popular with local inhabitants.

The Vasco da Gama Garden (Chinese: 華士古達嘉馬花園; Portuguese: Jardim de Vasco da Gama) is a garden in São Lázaro, Macau, China. It is located between Rua de Ferreira do Amaral, Calçada do Gaio and Estrada da Vitória.
