Ashmead Village, Pennsylvania

The George K. Heller School, also known as the Cheltenham Center for the Arts, is a historic school building located in Ashmead Village, Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It was originally built in 1883 to house the first Cheltenham High School, and expanded in 1893 and 1906. Later additions took place between 1963 and 1969, after it was converted to the Cheltenham Center for the Arts. The stone school building ranges from 1 1/2- to 2 1/2-stories and has intersecting gable roofs. The roof is topped by a square cupola. A school was located on this site as early as 1795 and it was considered the oldest public school site in continuous use at the time of its closing in 1953.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Rowland House, also known as the Shovel Shop, is a historic home located at Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It was built about 1774, expanded about 1810–1820, with additions built in the early 1900s and 1920s / 1930s. It is a 3+1⁄2-story, stuccoed stone building with a steep gable roof and one-story, frame addition.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Cheltenham is an unincorporated community in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States, with a ZIP code of 19012. It is located directly over the city line (Cheltenham Avenue) of Philadelphia. It also borders Northeast Philadelphia over the Fox Chase Line on the east and over Cottman Avenue (PA 73) on the north side. The community is listed for statistical purposes as the Cheltenham Village census-designated place. By the mid-1980s, many Korean Americans moved out of Logan and moved into Cheltenham and other communities.Cheltenham is represented by Madeleine Dean in the 4th Congressional District. As of 2016, Taiwanese airline EVA Air provides a private bus service to and from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City for customers based in the Philadelphia area. It stops in Cheltenham.

Cheltenham station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania. Located at Old Soldiers Road and Hasbrook Avenue, it serves the Fox Chase Line. The station has a 17-space parking lot. In FY 2013, Cheltenham station had a weekday average of 267 boardings and 392 alightings.Until 2005, CSX's Trenton Subdivision freight line and the Fox Chase Line shared track from Newtown Junction to a point just south of Cheltenham station, where SEPTA trains utilized a crossover to travel to/from the freight track. These tracks are now segregated, with a siding having been installed between Cheltenham and Lawndale stations for SEPTA use during peak hours. Further north, the freight line eventually joins SEPTA's West Trenton Line between Neshaminy Falls and Langhorne although the tracks no longer connect, and outbound passengers must now cross the inbound track to exit the station. Cheltenham station serves the Burholme neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia and the eastern part of Cheltenham Township.

Burholme Park is a public park in the Burholme neighborhood of Philadelphia. The park and the Robert W. Ryerss Museum and Library was a gift of the last descendant of the Ryerss family, prominent Philadelphians. Robert W. Ryerss died on Feb. 18, 1895 at age 65, leaving his estate to Mary Reed, his wife of eight months and the head housekeeper of the Ryerss Mansion for 27 years. He left everything to her on the condition that upon her death the best part of his land and much of his estate would be left to the “People of Philadelphia, forever” as a museum and public lending library. Mary Reed Ryerss spent the rest of her life traveling around the world collecting objects for the museum and planning for the library and park.

Lawndale station is a station located along SEPTA's Fox Chase Line. It is located at Robbins and Newtown Avenues and serves the Lawndale neighborhood of Northeast Philadelphia. The station has a small shelter and has no parking lot. In FY 2013, Lawndale station had a weekday average of 213 boardings and 201 alightings.In 2005, SEPTA segregated CSX's Trenton Subdivision freight tracks and the Fox Chase Line passenger tracks that run parallel from Newtown Junction to just south of Cheltenham. Passengers may now only board from the west side platform.

Burholme is a neighborhood in the Northeast section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The neighborhood is adjacent to Burholme Park, which is located in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia. The Kennedy Crossan School was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Ryerss Mansion, also known as Burholme Mansion, is a historic mansion in the Fox Chase neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The house was built on 85 acres by merchant Joseph Waln Ryerss in 1859 overlooking Burholme Park, one of the highest vistas in Philadelphia. Joseph was president of the Tioga Railroad and followed the family business of trading with China, Japan, and England. He also followed the family avocation of collecting art, especially oriental art. Joseph died in 1868 leaving the house to his second wife Anne, and following her death, to his son Robert. Robert also traveled and collected art which he displayed in the house. Less than a year before he died at age 65, Robert married his longtime housekeeper, Mary Ann Reed. She inherited a comfortable annuity and the house, with the house to be given to the City of Philadelphia after her death. She remarried three years after his death to the Reverend John G. Bawn and they continued the family avocations of traveling and art collecting. In 1905 she turned the house over to the city and it opened as a park, museum, and library in 1910 “Free to the people forever” under the administration of the Fairmount Park Commission. Mrs. Ryerss Bawn died in 1916 in China. The Reverend Bawn then returned to Philadelphia and lobbied the city to build more galleries to house the now larger collection. These galleries were built in 1923.

MossRehab is a physical rehabilitation hospital and other centers located in the Philadelphia region of Pennsylvania that opened in the early 1900s as part of the original Jewish Hospital. Moss became an independent facility in 1952. During the 1990s, MossRehab merged back into the Einstein Healthcare Network. Ryers is a neighborhood in Northeast Philadelphia. Ryers is bounded by Cottman Avenue (PA 73) on the southwest, Fillmore Street on the northwest. Both of these highways separate Philadelphia from Cheltenham and Rockledge, Montgomery County. The Fox Chase Line separates Ryers from Burholme and Fox Chase borders it via Hartel St. on the northeast. The name Ryers comes from the Ryerss Estate which is located in Burholme Park along Central Avenue. The Estate was owned by Joseph Waln Ryerss who left it to his son Robert, a lawyer. Eight months before he died at the age of 65, Robert shocked Philadelphia society by marrying his housekeeper of many years, Mary Ann Reed. The will stipulated that upon Mary Ann’s death the estate was to be turned over to the city of Philadelphia to be used as a park, library, and museum “free to the public.” Before she died, Mary Ann Ryerss turned the property over to the city of Philadelphia in 1905. The Ryerss Museum and Library was opened to the public in 1910 under the administration of the Fairmount Park Commission. Who later left it to the Free Library of Philadelphia.

In FY 2013, Ryers station had a weekday average of 402 boardings and 376 alightings. The station itself consists of a new high-level platform and shelter, completed in early 2012.

Fox Chase Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center research facility and hospital located in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The main facilities of the center are located on property adjoining Burholme Park. The center is part of the Temple University Health System (TUHS) and specializes in the treatment and prevention of cancer. The center was formed in 1974 by the merger of the American Oncologic Hospital, which was founded in 1904 as the first cancer hospital in the United States, and the Institute for Cancer Research, founded in 1927. The center was an independent, non-profit institution until it became part of TUHS July 1, 2012. Today it has almost 2,400 employees and an operating budget of $300 million. Research is conducted in more than 80 laboratories by a staff of more than 325 physicians and scientists who hold medical degrees, Ph.D.s or both. Fox Chase's 100-bed hospital is one of the few facilities in the country devoted entirely to cancer care. Annual hospital admissions average about 4,100 and outpatient visits to physicians exceed 69,000 a year. As of 2014, the Fox Chase Cancer Center was ranked as the 19th best cancer hospital in the United States by U.S. News & World Report.In 1995, Fox Chase also became a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, an alliance of 21 of the nation's leading academic cancer centers. On December 15, 2011, Fox Chase Cancer Center and Temple University Health system signed an affiliation agreement. Under the agreement, Fox Chase has connected and extended its current operations into the adjoining 176-bed and 33-acre Jeanes Hospital, which is already a part of the Temple University Health System. Fox Chase is considered the "Cancer Hub" of the Temple University Health System. Fox Chase became the first US cancer center and the first hospital in Pennsylvania to earn the American Nurses Association Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence in 2000. Fox Chase has continued to win this designation for a total of five awards. In 2020, Fox Chase Cancer Center received the Press Ganey's Guardian of Excellence Award for excellence in clinical care in outpatient services.
