Baum–Wallis Farmstead

Cannon–Brownell–Herrington Farmstead is a historic home and farm located near Johnsonville, Rensselaer County, New York. The original section of the farmhouse was built about 1830, with the central block and wing added about 1870. The house consists of a two-story, central block with flanking 1 1/2-story wings. It has a long woodshed ell, now converted to an apartment. Also on the property are the contributing corn crib (c. 1865-1900), main barn group (c. 1862, 1895, 1960s), and sheep barn (c. 1899).: 3–4  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

Thomas–Wiley–Johnson Farmstead is a historic home and farm located near Johnsonville, Rensselaer County, New York. The farmhouse was built between about 1790 and 1800, and consists of a two-story, five-bay, Greek Revival style frame main block with a kitchen wing added c. 1840. It was remodeled about 1870, and has another wing added about the same time. Also on the property are the contributing main barn group with cow barn and milk house additions (c. 1860-1960), hen house and corn crib (c. 1930, c. 1950), work shop (c. 1880-1900), and garage (c. 1950).: 3–5  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Howard–Odmin–Sherman Farmstead, also known as the Hidden Pond Farm, is a historic home and farm located at Pittstown, Rensselaer County, New York. The farmhouse was built about 1860, and consists of a two-story, three-bay, frame dwelling with a one-story rear ell in a transitional Greek Revival / Italianate style. Also on the property are the contributing carriage barn (c. 1840-1860), outbuilding (c. 1840-1860), grain house (c. 1840-1860), main barn (c. 1870), henhouse (c. 1940s), turkey coop (c. 1930), small outbuilding (c. 1900), and two pole barns (c. 1960).: 3–5  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Sherman Farm is a historic home and farm complex located at Pittstown Rensselaer County, New York. The complex includes the main house and seven contributing outbuildings. They are a hay barn, wagon barn, corn house, hog bar, ice house, and a barn attached to the hay barn. All were built in the late-18th or early-19th century. the main house was built about 1797 and is a two-story, rectangular frame house with a full attic, full cellar, and high pitched gable roof in the Federal style. A major remodeling about 1840 added some Greek Revival details. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Tomhannock Methodist Episcopal Church is a historic Methodist Episcopal church located at Pittstown, Rensselaer County, New York. It was built in 1845, and is a one-story, vernacular Greek Revival style brick church building with a front gable roof. It is topped by an open belfry topped by a low pyramidal roof. The interior was remodeled in 1871 and 1896. A two-story frame addition was built about 1980 to replace a two-story social hall added in 1855. The church was abandoned by United Methodist Conference in 2010 and subsequently adapted for municipal purposes.: 3–4  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Adams–Myers–Bryan Farmstead is a historic home and farm and national historic district located at Valley Falls, Rensselaer County, New York. The farmhouse was built about 1855, and consists of three blocks. It consists of a two-story, Greek Revival style main block with a two-story side wing and 1 1/2-story rear ell. Also on the property are the contributing main barn group (c. 1860, c. 1880-1930), pump house (c. 1920-1940), milk house (c. 1920-1940), horse barn (c. 1850), corn house (c. 1850), pig house (mid-19th century), carriage barn (c. 1860-1875), ice house (c. 1900), and outhouse (c. 1900).: 3–5  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

Valley Falls is a village in Rensselaer County, New York, United States. The population was 466 at the 2010 census. The village lies on the boundary of the towns of Pittstown and Schaghticoke, but is mostly in the northwestern part of Pittstown.

Pittstown is a town in Rensselaer County, New York, United States. The population was 5,735 at the 2010 census. It is in the northern part of the county. A small part of the northern town line is Rensselaer County's border with Washington County. Moving west, the Hoosic River defines the town's northwestern line to the crux of its border with the town of Schaghticoke, which juts south to form the western town line. The towns of Brunswick and Grafton border to the southwest and southeast, respectively, with the town of Hoosick to the east. The majority of the town is served by the Hoosic Valley Central School District, while the southern part of the town is serviced by Brunswick (Brittonkill) Central School District, with a portion of the eastern part of the town served by the Hoosick Falls Central School District.

The water source for the city of Troy, New York, is the Tomhannock Reservoir, a man-made reservoir 6.5 miles (10.5 km) northeast of Troy in the town of Pittstown. The reservoir is 5.5 miles (8.9 km) long, and holds 12.3 billion US gallons (47,000,000 m3) when full. Water quality is good to excellent. Licensed fishing (both warm-weather and ice fishing) is a popular recreational activity. The reservoir supplies water to about 50,000 residents in Troy, as well as to about 85,000 residents in the nearby municipalities of Brunswick, East Greenbush, Halfmoon, Menands, North Greenbush, Poestenkill, Rensselaer, Schaghticoke and Waterford.

Brownell–Cornell–Gibbs Farmstead is a historic home and farm located near Buskirk, Rensselaer County, New York. The farmhouse was built between about 1800 and 1825, and consists of a two-story, banked, rectangular frame main block with an attached large two-story woodshed. It has a one-story, hip roofed addition dated to 1943, and Federal style design elements. Also on the property are the contributing threshing barn (c. 1800), tool barn / grain house (c. 1830), hen house (1936), garage (1926), and wagon shed (c. 1940).: 3–6 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Schaghticoke Powder Company was a powder mill located in Rensselaer County, New York in the village of Schaghticoke. The powder mill was founded by Josiah Masters and Nicholas Masters in 1813 for the supply of gunpowder during the War of 1812. The Schaghticoke Powder Works was located on the south banks of the Hoosick River approximately a half mile southeast of the Schaghticoke village. The powder works was established on one hundred acres and developed with twenty separate buildings processing special grades of gunpowder. The Schaghticoke Powder Works manufactured sixty thousand powder kegs or one million and five thousand pounds of powder per year. By 1893, the Schaghticoke Works mill was recognize as one of the oldest gunpowder mills in the United States manufacturing various propellant grades for eighty years in the Hudson River Valley.

Cornell–Manchester Farmstead is a historic home and farm located near Hoosick Falls, Rensselaer County, New York. The main house was built between about 1820 and 1840, and consists of a 1 1/2-story, gable roofed frame main block with an adjoining 1 1/2-story, gable roofed block added about 1850. It was remodeled about 1900 and three open Queen Anne style porches were added. Another 1 1/2-story frame house was added to the property about 1860. Also on the property are the contributing tool barn / grain house (c. 1800-1830), pig house (c. 1880-1900), blacksmith's shop (c. 1850-1870), smokehouse (c. 1820-1850), grain house (c. 1880-1900), corn cribs (1957, 1960s), two hay sheds (c. 1940-1950), shed (c. 1940-1950), garage and vehicle shed (c. 1940-1950), hen house (c. 1940–1941, 1962), small pig house (c. 1940), three hen houses (c. 1940), and barn (c. 1900).: 3–5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.
