Farny State Park

Splitrock Reservoir is 1,500 acres (610 ha) of wilderness (part of Farny State Park), surrounding a 650 acre reservoir, located on the borders of Rockaway Township and Kinnelon, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. Splitrock, along with the nearby Boonton Reservoir, provides water for Jersey City, New Jersey. The reservoir is surrounded by woods and can be reached by traveling a mile on a dirt road known as Split Rock Road. The reservoir is three miles from end to end, with many large islands. There is a man-made dam on the southwest end of the reservoir. The reservoir and surrounding natural area were opened to the public on November 21, 2003.

Beaver Brook is a 14.2-mile-long (22.9 km) tributary of the Pequest River in western New Jersey in the United States.Beaver Brook originates near Blairstown and terminates at its confluence with the Pequest River near Belvidere.

The James Dixon Farm is a historic house near Boonton, Morris County, New Jersey, United States. It was built in 1760. It has also been known as the Aaron Miller House and as the Dixon Property. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. The listing included six contributing buildings including a single dwelling and one or more animal facilities on 12 acres (4.9 ha).

Hibernia is an unincorporated community located along County Route 513 (Green Pond Road) in Rockaway Township of Morris County, New Jersey. The area is served as United States Postal Service ZIP code 07842. The community takes its name from Hibernia, the classical name for Ireland.As of the 2000 United States Census, the population for ZIP Code Tabulation Area 07842 was 93. The Hibernia mines, a series of iron mines worked from pre-Revolutionary times until 1916, are located here. Since 1970, the former Methodist Episcopal Church on Green Pond Road has been used as a branch of the Rockaway Township Free Public Library.

The Academy for Mathematics, Science, and Engineering, a magnet high school program that is part of the Morris County Vocational School District is jointly operated on the Morris Hills campus. The Methodist Episcopal Church, also known as the Methodist Episcopal Church of Hibernia, is a historic church built in 1869 and located at 419 Green Pond Road in the Hibernia section of Rockaway Township, Morris County, New Jersey. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 14, 2011, for its significance in architecture and industry. Since 1970, the building has been used as a branch of the Rockaway Township Free Public Library.

Rockaway Valley Methodist Church is a historic church in Boonton, Morris County, New Jersey, United States. It was built in 1842 and added to the New Jersey Register of Historic Places in 1976. The next year, in 1977, it was added to the National Register.

The Hibernia mines are a series of iron mines in and around Rockaway Township, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States, that were worked from pre-Revolutionary times until 1916. The mines worked a vein extending for more than two miles (3.2 km). Several companies operated mines in the area. An adit was constructed into the Hibernia hill to move ore to the railhead of the Hibernia Railroad. Ore in excess of 90,000 short tons (82,000 t) was shipped in 1879.An exploratory shaft was drilled in the 1950s but was not worked, and the shafts and adit were partly or totally sealed in 1972 and 1989. After its closure, the mine became the largest bat hibernaculum in New Jersey, with as many 30,000 bats each winter. In 2010, less than 10% that number was found in the mine following an outbreak of white nose syndrome.

Rockaway Township is a township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2020 United States Census, the township's population was 25,341, reflecting an increase of 1,185 (+4.9%) from the 24,156 counted in the 2010 Census.Rockaway Township was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 8, 1844, from portions of Hanover Township and Pequannock Township. Portions of the township were taken to form Rockaway Borough (June 19, 1894), Port Oram (June 26, 1895, now Wharton) and Denville Township (April 14, 1913). Portions of the township were annexed to Boonton Township in 1906 and to Rockaway Borough in 1908.The township shares its name with the Rockaway River and the neighboring borough. The name is derived from a Native American term, variously said to mean "place of sands", "creek between two hills" or "bushy" / "difficult to cross".A large part of the township consists of Picatinny Arsenal, a United States Army base that covers nearly 6,500 acres (2,600 ha) of the township (a portion of the facility is located in Jefferson Township), used mainly for the development of new weapons technologies, especially concerning anti-terrorism.

Boonton Township is a township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, its population was 4,263, reflecting a decline of 24 (-0.6%) from 4,287 in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 721 (+20.2%) from 3,566 in the 1990 Census.Boonton Township was incorporated by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 11, 1867, from portions of Pequannock Township. The borough of Mountain Lakes was formed from portions of the township on March 3, 1924. The settlement was originally called "Boone-Towne" in 1761 in honor of the Colonial Governor Thomas Boone.New Jersey Monthly magazine ranked Boonton Township as the 4th best place to live in the state in its rankings of the "New Jersey's Top Towns 2011-2012.
