The Collegiata di San Michele Arcangelo is Renaissance-style Roman Catholic church located on Via San Giuseppe #1, at one end of the Piazza del Tribunale, in the town of Lucignano, Province of Arezzo, region of Tuscany, Italy.

Lucignano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Arezzo in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) southeast of Florence and about 25 kilometres (16 mi) southwest of Arezzo. Lucignano borders the following municipalities: Foiano della Chiana, Marciano della Chiana, Monte San Savino, Rapolano Terme, and Sinalunga. It is one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia ("The most beautiful villages of Italy").

Scrofiano is a village in Tuscany, central Italy, a frazione of the comune of Sinalunga in the province of Siena. It is located on a hill in Val di Chiana, a few kilometers from Sinalunga proper. Scrofiano was founded in around the 11th century. It is known however with certainty from the 12th century, when it was a fief of the Cacciaconti family, as part of the Republic of Siena. In the early 15th century it was the seat of a decisive battle between the Ghibelline Sienese and the Guelph Florentines. In 1554 its castle was besieged by the Imperial-Florentine troops, which destroyed its walls.

Monte San Savino is a town and comune in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany (Italy). It is located on the Essa stream in the Valdichiana. Several of its frazioni occupy higher hills, like Gargonza at 560 metres (1,840 ft) and Palazzuolo, at an elevation of 600 metres (2,000 ft).

The Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata, also once called the Chiesa della Misericordia, is a Renaissance-style Roman Catholic church located in the town of Lucignano, Province of Arezzo, region of Tuscany, Italy. The church was built in 1468 as an oratory for the Company of the Battenti Neri, a fraternity of flagellants. That company was suppressed under the Granduke Leopold in the 1780s, and substituted by the Compagnia di Carità, then by the present Venerabile Arciconfraternita di Misericordia, whose coat of arms is on the portal. The unpolished stone facade is simple. The gilded main altar dates from 1583. Inside there are a number of works of art of the following two centuries, including a Nativity attributed to Orazio Porta, and terra-cotta reliefs of the Annunciation by the studio of Andrea della Robbia. In addition there is an altarpiece depicting the Annunciation by Onorio Marinari, and the Glory of the Virgin by Alessandro Gherardini.

San Pietro ad Mensulas is a Romanesque-style, Roman Catholic church just outside Sinalunga, province of Siena, region of Tuscany, Italy. It is now part of the Diocese of Montepulciano-Chiusi-Pienza. The church was built as a parish in the lower, then marshy parts of the country, putatively one of seven parishes founded by St Donatus of Arezzo in the 4th century. The Romanesque basilica structure is still evident after 19th-century restorations. The nave is separated from aisles by thick square columns. The interior has some degraded medieval frescoes by school of Guidoccio Cozzarelli, and a some later Renaissance art additions. An altarpiece dated 1634 depicts the Granting of the Keys to Peter.

The Collegiata di San Martino is a Renaissance-style, Roman Catholic collegiate church in the center of Sinalunga, province of Siena, region of Tuscany, Italy. It is now part of the Diocese of Montepulciano-Chiusi-Pienza. Located in a town hotly contested by Siena and Florence prior to the 16th century, the town's castle was razed after Florence defeated the Sienese forces during the Italian War of 1551–1559. The stones were reused to build the Collegiata in 1588. Among the artworks in the church, some derived from the nearby old church of San Martino, later called Santa Croce; they include: Madonna and Child with Saints Martin and Sebastian by Benvenuto di Giovanni Madonna and Child with Saints by Il Sodoma Marriage of the Virgin (1612) by Rutilio Manetti St Catherine of Siena Introduces St Antony of Padua and Child Jesus to the Virgin (1650) by Francesco Nasini Saints Catherine of Siena, Dominic, Martin, Francis, Lucy, and Catherine of Alexandria (1697) by Giuseppe Nicola Nasini

The Val di Chiana, Valdichiana, or Chiana Valley, formerly Clanis Valley, is a tectonic valley of central Italy, whose valley floor consists of important alluvial residues filled up since the 11th century, lying on the territories of the provinces of Arezzo and Siena in Tuscany and the provinces of Perugia and Terni in Umbria.
