Langenæs Church

Langenæs Parish (Danish: Langenæs Sogn) is a parish in the Diocese of Aarhus in Aarhus Municipality, Denmark. The parish is occupied by the neighborhood of Langenæs.

Langenæs Park (Danish: Langenæs Parken) is a public park in the Langenæs neighborhood in the Aarhus C district in Aarhus, Denmark. The park is situated west of the Frederiksbjerg neighborhood along the curved street Langenæs Allé to the south and the AArhus rail yard to the north. Langenæs Park is one of the largest parks in Aarhus and is composed of mainly landscaped lawns with trees scattered throughout along with a large section dedicated to sports. Facilities include soccer fields, a disc gold field, picnic areas and a paved running track. Langenæs Park was established in connection with the development of the Langenæs neighborhood in the 1970s and is today the primary recreational spot in the area along with Frederiksbjerg Bypark to the west and the Rehabilitation PArk to the south. The park is owned by Aarhus Municipality and is managed by the municipal department Natur og Miljø (English: Nature and Environment) and can be rented for public events.Langenæs Park is home to the disc golf club 'Aarhus Disc Golf Club' which maintains a 4-hole course in the park. The sports club 'Aarhus 1900' has a club house in the park as well and uses the soccer fields as training facilities.

Langenæs is a small neighborhood in the city of Aarhus, Denmark with about 6,500 residents, as of 2014. The neighborhood is part of the district Midtbyen (the town center) and borders the neighborhoods of Frederiksbjerg and Marselisborg to the East and the district of Viby to the South. Langenæs is delimited by the streets Søndre Ringgade, Skanderborgvej, Marselis Boulevard and the valley of Brabrand Ådal.The neighborhood is predominantly 2-5 bedroom apartments in blocks of 5 to 7 floors. The area is characterized by the apartment towers Langenæshus, Langenæsbo and Højhus Langenæs, a 55 meters tall reddish aluminium clad tower which is the tallest brick structure in the country.

Kongsvang tram stop is a tram station serving the district of Viby in the city of Aarhus in Jutland, Denmark. The tram stop is located on the Odder Line between Aarhus and Odder, part of Aarhus Letbane (Aarhus light rail). The Fredericia-Aarhus Line passes through the station. Until 2016 this was a railway halt, part of Aarhus Nærbane. From 2016 to 2018, the station was temporarily closed along with the Grenaa Line while being reconstructed and electrified to form part of the Aarhus light rail system.

Højhuset Langenæs (Lit.: High-rise Langenæs) is a building on Langenæs Alle in the Langenæs neighborhood in Aarhus, Denmark. It is one of only two high-rise buildings in Denmark constructed from brick. It was one of the first high-rises in Aarhus and it is one of the tallest buildings in both Aarhus and Denmark; in 2017 it was the 7th tallest building in Aarhus and the 30th tallest building in Denmark. Højhuset Langenæs is a residential building owned and originally constructed by the housing organization Arbejdernes Andels Boligforening and it is composed of rental apartment units.

Marselisborgcentret, formerly Marselisborg Hospital, is a rehabilitation hospital in Aarhus, situated on P. P. Ørums Gade in the borough of Marselisborg. The original hospital was established in 1913 and has been repurposed for rehabilitation, including related research and innovation, in 2001. A project at the rehabilitation centre, known as Spark, aims at creating a local public meeting space for everybody, including the well-functioning. The Spark project includes a café and canteen, and communal projects in the associated Rehabilitation Park.

Læssøesgade School (Danish: Læssøesgade Skole) is a public primary school in the Frederiksbjerg district of Aarhus, Denmark. The school offers reception classes, 1 through 10 grades and after-school activities in the Skolefritidsordning (Sfo).

NorthSide Festival, or simply NorthSide, is a three-day music festival held every year in June in Aarhus, Denmark. It has four stages with rotating artists and several sideshow events and happenings. The first festival commenced in 2010 and since 2011, the festival has been held at Ådalen in Åbyhøj. The 2017 festival was attended by 40,000 people each day. In 2022, for the very first time, NorthSide took place in the beautiful nature area, Eskelunden, right by Aarhus Å and in the backyard of the city. The festival now goes by the name NorthSide to avoid confusion with the Northside Festival in Brooklyn. It is a privately owned festival, owned by Down The Drain Group, who also owns the Tinderbox music festival in Odense and is shareholder in other music business activities in Denmark.Besides the musical profile and a goal of creating profit for its owners, NorthSide has a mission statement focused on innovation, sustainability, and customer involvement. NorthSide is Denmark's most sustainable festival and is dedicated to constantly raising the bar with new, sustainable initiatives. Among the many initiatives, it can be mentioned that all food is plant-based and 100% organic, and that there is no bottled water. In addition, in 2022 NorthSide was the first major festival in the world to run on 100% green electricity.

Fredens Church (Danish: Fredenskirken, Peace Church) is a church in Aarhus, Denmark. The church is located in the district of Viby, 3 km south of Aarhus city centre. It is a parish church within the Church of Denmark, servicing a parish population of 7.145 (2015). Fredens Church was built between 1958 and 1960 from designs by architects F. Niclasen and Aksel Skov when Fredens Parish was created from northern areas of Viby Parish in 1960. The church features the church room, a chapel and community facilities which encloses a courtyard. The name of the church and parish means "The peace" and refers both to hope for peace following the Second World War and the Fredensvang neighbourhood the church is situated in.Fredens Church maintains friendly relations with a Catholic church in Pesaro, Italy at the Adriatic Sea with frequent visits between the two congregations.

St. Lukas Church (Danish: Sankt Lukas Kirke, Skt. Lukas Kirke) is a church in Aarhus, Denmark. The church is situated in the Frederiksbjerg neighbourhood on Skt. Lucas Kirkeplads by Ingerslevs Boulevard. St. Lukas Church is a parish church under the Church of Denmark, the Danish state church, under the Diocese of Aarhus. It is the parish church of St. Lukas Parish which has some 11.000 parish members. The church was designed by architects Anton Frederiksen and Kaj Gottlob in neoclassical style with a 35 meters tall tower. It was constructed between 1921 and 1926 but the crypt under the church, with room for 200 graves, was opened before the church itself, in 1923.

Åby Church (Danish: Åby Kirke) is a church located in Åby Parish in Aarhus, Denmark. The church is situated in the neighbourhood Åbyhøj, west of Midtbyen. The church is today a parish church in the Church of Denmark, serving a parish population of 10.925 (2015). The Åby Church pastorate is shared with the Åbyhøj Church to the north.

Ceres Arena (formerly NRGi Arena) is an indoor arena mainly used for handball matches and public events in Aarhus, Denmark. The arena was opened in 2001 and has a capacity of 5,001 spectators (4,394 seats). It is part of the Aarhus Sports Park, which also includes Aarhus Stadium. Ceres Arena is home to Danish Women's Handball League team Aarhus United and Danish Men's Handball League team Skanderborg Aarhus Håndbold. The arena functioned as the main venue in the 2002 European Women's Championships, hosting the final. The arena was also used for basketball, by Bakken Bears, but because of the high price for renting the arena, Bakken Bears moved back to there old home Vejlby-Risskov Hallen. Since, it has only played selected games in the arena, including some European appearances.In non-sports, the 2004 Danish Song Contest was held in this arena. The Danish women national handball team also play some matches.
