The Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden is a Japanese garden encompassing 1.3 acres (0.53 ha) on the campus of California State University, Long Beach, in Long Beach, California, United States. It was dedicated in 1981. Ed Lovell, landscape master plan architect for the university, traveled to Japan and took inspiration from the Imperial Gardens in Tokyo before designing the garden. Among the annual events held at the Japanese garden is a Koi auction and a chrysanthemum show.It is adjacent to the village site of Puvunga. In the trenching for the garden, evidence of the ancient Tongva village was uncovered in the early 1970s.The garden is closed on Saturdays (when it is often rented out for weddings and receptions) and Mondays.

The California State University, Long Beach College of Engineering is CSULB's third-largest college, with 2022 enrollment of nearly 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The college is led by Dr. Jinny Rhee, who was appointed Dean in July 2021, after serving as Associate Dean of the Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering at San Jose State University. The college was led by Interim Dean Tracy Bradley Maples from 2020 to 2021, and Dean Forouzan Golshani from 2007 to 2020. The college's mission is "to develop innovators who design and implement practical solutions to meet the ever-changing societal challenges of Engineering." The college celebrates the graduation of more than 1,000 new engineers each year.Established in 1957 with 163 students, the College of Engineering offers accredited Bachelor of Science degrees in aerospace engineering, biomedical engineering (pending), chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, computer science, construction management, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, engineering technology, and mechanical engineering. Master’s of Science degrees are offered in aerospace engineering, chemical engineering civil engineering, computer science, construction management, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering. Students may obtain a PhD in Engineering and Computational Mathematics through a joint doctoral program offered with Claremont Graduate University. The American Society of Engineering Education ranks the CSULB College of Engineering fifth in the nation for its percentage of female tenure/tenure-track faculty and is sixth in the nation for awarding undergraduate engineering degrees to Hispanic students. Diverse Issues in Higher Education also ranked the college third for awarding engineering degrees to minority students. The college of engineering was ranked by U.S. News as the 137th best engineering college in the United States for postgraduate students. CSULB's COE also offers options to complete one's electrical engineering or mechanical engineering degree at a separate center in the Antelope Valley city of Lancaster, California.In the face of a nationwide shortage of STEM professionals, the CSULB College of Engineering is working with the Long Beach Unified School District and Long Beach City College to build a “pipeline” of students seeking engineering and sciences as a profession. The CSULB College of Engineering also works closely with industry partners such as Boeing and Northrop-Grumman to ensure that programs remain aligned to new engineering opportunities. Boeing has supported internship programs and donated laboratories and equipment to help prepare students for future employment in the aerospace industry, including equipment from the shutdown of Boeing's C-17 Globemaster III program.The college also produces the BEACH Women in Engineering Conference.

The Walter Pyramid, formerly known as The Long Beach Pyramid, is a 4,000-seat, indoor multi-purpose arena on the campus of Long Beach State University in Long Beach, California.

VA Long Beach Healthcare System, former Naval Hospital Long Beach is a large medical treatment facility in Long Beach, California. The Veterans Administration Hospital operates the hospital on 100 acres of land at 5901 E 7th St, Long Beach. The hospital has primary care, tertiary care, and long-term care in areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, oncology, dentistry, spinal cord injury, geriatrics, blind rehabilitation and extended care. The VA Hospital opened on June 1, 1950.The hospital opened in 1942 as a Naval Hospital in 1942 with 300 beds to serve wounded World War 2 servicemen. By the end of the war in 1945, the Naval Hospital had 1800 beds. Naval Hospital Long Beach also served as a major teaching hospital for the US Navy. In 1950 the Naval transferred the hospital to the Veterans Administration at the request of the President of the United States and the Secretary of Defense. The Navy purchased the land on September 25, 1941 from the Bixby family of Rancho Los Alamitos. Congress did not appropriate money for a new Navy hospital until 1960 and provided $9 million to build a 500-bed facility on land sold to the Navy by the city which was located at Carson and the San Gabriel River. The original site of the Navy hospital constructed at Carson Street and the San Gabriel River is now the Long Beach Towne Center.

The Gold Mine is a 1,900-seat multi-purpose arena in Long Beach, California on the campus of California State University, Long Beach. Opened in the late 1950s, it was known as University Gym. The Gold Mine was home to Long Beach State's basketball and volleyball teams until the Walter Pyramid opened in 1994. It used to have nearly 2400 wooden bleacher seats before a mid-80s renovation. [1] The Gold Mine is still occasionally used for volleyball and basketball games, if there is a scheduling conflict at the Pyramid. Today, its primary function is for Long Beach State intramural sports and other campus events.

The Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach, California is a theater that hosts a variety of events, including films, forums, and musical and theatrical performances. The venue is located on the campus of California State University, Long Beach. It was built in 1994 and has seating for 1,054. The stage area was modeled after the New York State Theater of the Arts at Lincoln Center. The Carpenter Performing Arts Center is named for Richard and Karen Carpenter, alumni of the university and donors to the center. Musical Theatre West has been producing shows at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center since 1997.

The Music Department at the California State University, Northridge offers studying and performing opportunities in connection with the leading educational institutions and cultural venues of the Los Angeles area.

The Bob Cole Conservatory of Music is the school of music at California State University, Long Beach. In March 2008, the music department was renamed the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music in honor of an endowment gift of $16.4 million from the estate of Robert "Bob" Cole. Cole, a Long Beach real estate investor, long-time music lover, and amateur pianist, died in 2004. Following its disbursement, the gift will benefit the students of the conservatory in the form of scholarships and other awards.

George Allen Field is a 1,000 seat soccer stadium on the campus of California State University, Long Beach in Long Beach, California. It is named after Los Angeles Rams and Washington Redskins head coach George Allen.
