Trøjborg

Ring 1, or Ringgaden, is a ring road that surrounds the most central part of Aarhus, Denmark, roughly bounding the neighborhood of Midtbyen. It is part of the Danish national road network and is numbered O1, denoting a ring road. The total length of the road is about 8.8 km.

St. John's Church (Danish: Sankt Johannes Kirke) is a congregation of the Church of Denmark in Aarhus, Denmark. The parish church is situated in the Trøjborg neighbourhood, immediately north-west of Nordre Cemetery. In 2015, Saint Johannes Parish counted some 8,916 members.The church was consecrated in 1905, thus becoming the fourth church to be built in Aarhus.Saint Johannes Parish was originally part of Aarhus Domsogn but it was made an independent parish when the church was built in 1905. Part of Saint Johannes Parish was separated into Christiansbjerg Church District in 1912 and in 1935 another part of the parish was annexed by Saint Markus Parish.

Klintegarden is an apartment complex and a number of listed buildings in Aarhus, Denmark. The complex was built in 1938 and was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places by the Danish Heritage Agency on 9 December 2013. The buildings represent one of the most significant and important examples of early 20th-century functionalist architecture in Aarhus. The complex is situated on a hill slope immediately south of the Riis Skov urban forest in the Skovvejskvarteret neighbourhood of the inner city. It consists of two 6-floor apartment buildings facing the road Skovvejen and the Bay of Aarhus respectively, with two older villas placed between them in an atrium garden. The villas are from 1896 (Villa Højbo) and 1900 (Villa Sunhill) and were remodeled in the years 1936–38 when the apartment blocks were built. The complex is today a condominium.

Riisvangen Stadion (Danish: [ˈʁisˌvɑŋˀn̩], "Riis Meadow") is an association football stadium in Aarhus N. It is the home stadium of Danish 2nd Division club Aarhus Fremad. Stadium capacity is 5,000, but the attendance record is 3,200 which occurred when the club competed in the Danish Superliga, in a matchup against Ikast fS on 2 November 1997. Riisvangen Stadion was constructed in the 1936 on the initiative of Aarhus Municipality. During this period, the population of Aarhus had experienced a large population growth concentrated around northern Aarhus, known as Aarhus N, and the construction of a sports facility would facilitate needs to nurture sports in the area. The stadium was built in an area which, at that time, was devoid of buildings.Initially, IK Skovbakken used the stadium as their home ground before the club moved to the newly established sports complex Vejlby-Risskov Idrætscenter.In April 2018, a new wooden stand was initiated against Brønshøj Boldklub. On 4 October 2019, Fremad announced a sponsorship deal with Royal Unibrew, which meant that the stand was named "Faxe Kondi Tribunen", after the soft drink produced by the company.

Aarhus Female Seminary (Danish: Aarhus Kvindeseminarium) is a building and a former women's teachers' seminary in Aarhus, Denmark situated on Trøjborgvej 82. The building was constructed for the religious Christian organization Indre Mission in 1910 to house a teachers' seminary for women. The building has housed educational institutions since it was built although Indre Mission no longer owns the building. The name of the school has changed over the years as it has transitioned through different operators but VIA University College may be the last as the college will eventually relocate to CeresByen. The building was designed by the architect Frits Jensen who gave it a French palace-expression.

Hejmdal is a facility in Aarhus, Denmark owned by The Danish Cancer Society and used to counsel and house cancer patients and their families. The building is situated in the Trøjborg neighborhood on Peter Sabroe's Gade 1. Hejmdal was originally a part of Aarhus Municipal Hospital but has since been renovated. The American architect Frank Gehry worked pro bono on the redesign with the architect company Cubo Architects from Aarhus.

Aarhus Municipal Hospital, or Aarhus Sygehus, Nørrebrogade, was a hospital in Aarhus, serving 125 years from 1893 to 2018. The hospital was a department of Aarhus University Hospital and had sections for oncology, orthopedic surgery, medicine and neuro surgery. It also had an emergency department and was one of four trauma centers in Denmark. In 2018 and early 2019, the hospitals functions were relocated to the new headquarters of Aarhus University Hospital in the northern borough of Skejby. The hospital buildings are situated on Nørrebrogade in the district of Midtbyen and they are scheduled for redevelopment as of 2019. The new borough will become part of the central University Campus at Aarhus University, and is now referred to as Universitetsbyen (The University Town).

Centre for Lexicography is a research centre affiliated with the Aarhus School of Business, University of Aarhus Denmark, and was established in 1996. The centre's aim is to carry out lexicographic research into needs-adapted information and data access, i.e. research work into dictionary theory in general and it has built a solid, international reputation in that field. The centre is headed by professor Dr. Henning Bergenholtz who together with associate professor Dr. Sven Tarp, has proposed a theory that is often referred to as "the Aarhus School", see e.g. Bergenholtz/Nielsen/Tarp (2009) and Nielsen/Tarp (2009). The theory focuses on the functions of dictionaries, i.e. communication related functions (such as text reception, text production, text revision, text editing, and translation – which are all text-dependent) and knowledge related or cognitive functions (such as gaining knowledge in general or about a specific topic unrelated to a specific text). The theory focuses on the dictionary as a utility product, i.e. it provides a specific type of help to a specific type of user in specific types of user situations. The work at the Centre focuses on all aspects of lexicography, in particular LSP lexicography (e.g. Nielsen 1994; and Bergenholtz/Tarp 1995), learner's lexicography (e.g. Tarp 2008), language policy in dictionaries (e.g. Bergenholtz 2006), and dictionary reviewing (e.g. Nielsen 2009). In addition to their theoretical work the staff at the Centre for Lexicography have published more than 30 printed and electronic dictionaries, often in collaboration with external partners. These dictionaries are all based on the theoretical principles developed at the centre and cover monolingual and bilingual general dictionaries, business dictionaries, law dictionaries and accounting dictionaries.

Østbanetorvet station is a railway station serving the central part of the city of Aarhus in Jutland, Denmark. Until 1983 it was known as the East Station (Danish: Østbanegården) or Aarhus East (Danish: Århus Ø). The station opened in 1877 as the southern terminus of the Grenaa railway line between Aarhus and Grenaa. From 1933, however, all trains were continued from the station via a connecting track along the harbour to Aarhus Central Station. Since 2019, the station has been served by the Aarhus light rail system, a tram-train network combining tram lines in the city of Aarhus with operation on railway lines in the surrounding countryside.The tracks at the station also handle freight trains to Grenaa, and will continue to do so after being converted into a lightrail station for the public.

Nørre Stenbro is a small neighborhood in the city of Aarhus, Denmark home to some 3,000 residents. The neighborhood is part of the Aarhus C district and borders the neighborhoods of Indre By south and west, Aarhus Docklands in the east and Trøjborg north. The residential area of Nørre Stenbro is delimited by the streets Nørre Boulevard, Østboulevarden, Østbanetorvet, Kystvejen, Nørreport and Nørrebrogade, but the large Nordre Cemetery and the smaller residential quarter of Skovvejskvarteret is also part of the same registration.The School of Architecture and the train station Østbanetorvet station, part of Aarhus light rail line, are both located at Nørre Stenbro.

Mejlborg is a residential building in Aarhus, Denmark. The building is situated in the Nørre Stenbro neighborhood on Kystvejen 59-65 and Mejlgade 92 in the city center. It was the first large, privately built apartment complex in the city and a social hub for the upper class in the early 20th century. Mejlborg is named for the adjacent Mejlgade street. "Mejl" is derived from the old-Danish word for middle and "borg" means castle making Mejlborg the middle-castle or the castle in the middle.

Aarhus Sejlklub (Aarhus Sailing Club) is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Denmark. It was established in 1879 in Aarhus, Central Denmark Region and is based out of the Aarhus Docklands. Aarhus Sejlklub is in the premiere division of the Danish League of Sail Sports and is a member of Sailing Aarhus which will host the ISAF Sailing World Championships in 2018.Aarhus Sejlklub maintains a fleet of Optimists and 49ers sailing in the Bay of Aarhus and Kalø Vig. The club also runs a school with instructors teaching a range of different disciplines for both youth and adults, leisure or professional sports. Aarhus Sejlklub has been a member of Danish Sailing Association since 1922.
