St James the Great, Friern Barnet

Friern Barnet Parishioners War Memorial is located in the churchyard of St James the Great, Friern Barnet Lane, London. It commemorates those of the parish who died on active service during the First World War.

Friary Park is a nine hectare formal Edwardian park in Friern Barnet in the London Borough of Barnet.

The Lawrence Campe Almshouses at Friern Barnet Lane, Whetstone, London, are grade II listed buildings with Historic England.The almshouses were built around 1612 to provide accommodation for 12 poor people. They were funded by Lawrence Campe (died 1613), a draper's merchant in the City of London, and the residents were given an allowance of one shilling per month.The houses are administered by Lawrence Campe's Almshouse Trust. They are some of the oldest almshouses in London.

Barfield Allotments Nature Park is a small Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation in Whetstone in the London Borough of Barnet. It was formerly used as allotments, and when these were abandoned there were plans to turn it into a formal play area, but this met with local opposition when slow worms and common lizards were found, showing its value for wildlife. A small playground was installed in the north-east corner, while the remainder became a wildlife site.Some plum and apple trees remain from the time when it was allotments, but it has now changed from grassland to scrub. The site has been partially cleared to create a species-rich mosaic, and a native hedgerow has been planted along the boundary. A pond and marshy area have also been created for amphibians, taking advantage of a natural spring.The entrance to the site is in the playground off Barfield Avenue, but there is no public access, apart from school parties by arrangement.

Friern Barnet Town Hall is a municipal building in Friern Barnet Lane in Friern Barnet, London, England. The building, which was the headquarters of Friern Barnet Urban District Council from 1941 to 1965, is a Grade II listed building.

Whetstone is a place in the London Borough of Barnet, bearing the postcode N20. It is to the east of Totteridge, and these areas are known together as Totteridge and Whetstone. Whetstone is around 8.5 miles North of Charing Cross and is within the boundaries of the historic county of Middlesex. The combined areas of Totteridge and Whetstone was, at the outset of the 21st century, found to be the 63rd-richest of the more than 9,000 wards of the United Kingdom.The High Road is the A1000, formerly known as the Great North Road, parts of it still bear this name. Until the late 19th century its tiny developed area was one of two main settlements in the ancient parish of Friern Barnet, the other being Colney Hatch. It was thus the northernmost settlement in the Ossulstone hundred. Whetstone is also the northernmost part of the parish of Finchley.

Oakleigh Park is a loosely defined district in the north of the London Borough of Barnet. It adjoins Whetstone, and is often regarded either as part of that or of East Barnet, although the East Coast Main Line forms a border with the latter. The name is a relatively modern invention, after the eponymous station which opened in 1873. Since 2002 'Oakleigh' has also been the name of the electoral ward for the area, formed from parts of the abolished Hadley and Friern Barnet wards. The principal road is Oakleigh Road North. Turnings off this road include Oakleigh Park North, Oakleigh Avenue and Oakleigh Park South. There is a small shopping parade on Netherlands Road just to the north of the railway station.

The Manor of Halliwick was an historic manor in Friern Barnet, Middlesex, England, The Halliwick manor house was built around 1602 and located near the crossroads at Colney Hatch, on the corner between Colney Hatch Lane and Woodhouse Road. The modern flats and shops known as Halliwick Court are now located on the site.It was once in the ownership of John Trott MP.
