Father Griffins is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Galway, Ireland. The club is a member of the Galway GAA. Father Griffins are a Gaelic football club. Before their Amalgamation with Éire Óg, Father Griffins experienced regular success in Galway from their founding in 1948 until their final County title in 1975. They have also won the Connacht Senior Club Football Championship twice in their history, failing at the semi-final stage of the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship on both occasions.

Galway (Irish: Gaillimh) is a barony in Ireland, comprising Galway city and surrounding parts of County Galway. The barony is coterminous with the former County of the Town of Galway, a county corporate created by the town's 1610 charter and abolished by the Local Government (Ireland) Act 1898.

The Galway Technical Institute is a third level educational facility located on Father Griffin Road, Claddagh, Galway, Ireland. Claddagh (Irish: an Cladach, meaning 'the shore') is an area close to the centre of Galway city, where the River Corrib meets Galway Bay. It was formerly a fishing village, just outside the old city walls. It is just across the river from the Spanish Arch, which was the location of regular fish markets where the locals supplied the city with seafood as recently as the end of the 19th century. People have been gathering seafood and fishing from the area for millennia. It is one of the oldest former fishing villages in Ireland - its existence having been recorded since the arrival of Christianity in the 5th century.During the 19th century the Claddagh attracted many visitors, including writers who spread its fame. The original village of thatched cottages was razed in the 1930s and replaced by a council-housing scheme.The Claddagh is most famous internationally for the Claddagh ring, which is popular among those of Irish heritage as both a friendship and wedding ring. This traditional design consists of two clasped hands holding a crowned heart, and symbolises love, friendship and loyalty. The Claddagh area contains a national school, Community Centre and a Catholic Church as well as the new Claddagh Arts Centre. Notable natives of the area include Thomas Grady, recipient of the Victoria Cross.

The River Corrib (Irish: Abhainn na Gaillimhe) in the west of Ireland flows from Lough Corrib through Galway to Galway Bay. The river is among the shortest in Europe, with only a length of six kilometres from the lough to the Atlantic. It is popular with local whitewater kayakers as well as several rowing clubs and pleasure craft. The depth of this river reaches up to 94 feet.The Corrib drains a catchment area of 3,138 km2.Although the Corrib is one of Ireland's shortest rivers, it has a mean long-term flow rate of 104.8 m3/s, making it Ireland's second-largest river (by flow), only surpassed by the River Shannon.

The Spanish Arch (Irish: An Póirse) and the Caoċ Arch (Irish: An Póirse Caoċ, "blind arch") in Galway city, Ireland, are two remaining arches on the Ceann an Bhalla ("Front Wall").

Galway City Museum (Irish: Músaem Cathrach na Gaillimhe, IPA:[ˈmˠuːsˠeːmʲˈkahɾˠəxˈnˠaˈɡal̪ʲəvʲə]) is a museum in Galway City, County Galway, Ireland. It was founded on 29 July 2006, and is located beside the Spanish Arch.

Pálás (English: "Palace") is a cinema in Galway city. It opened in 2018, and has closed in February 2025 due to financial losses. It is owned by Galway City Council and was operated by the Light House Cinema group, as part of the Europa Cinemas network of local art-house cinemas.

The Monument to Christopher Columbus is a monument in Galway, Ireland. The memorial was erected in 1992, the year of the Columbus Quincentenary, to commemorate Christopher Columbus's visit to the city in 1477. It stands next to the Spanish Arch.

Galway Lifeboat Station is located on New Docks, in the Port of Galway, County Galway, Ireland, established at Galway in 1996 by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). The station currently operates the B-class (Atlantic 85) Inshore lifeboat, Binny (B-853), on station since 2011.

The Róisín Dubh is a live music and comedy venue located in Galway, Ireland. It has hosted events such as the IMRO Showcase Tour and the 2fm 2moro 2our. The name translates from the Irish language as the "little black rose". According to Una Mullally in the Sunday Tribune, the venue is "the heart of live music in the city".
