The Spanish Arch (Irish: An Póirse) and the Caoċ Arch (Irish: An Póirse Caoċ, "blind arch") in Galway city, Ireland, are two remaining arches on the Ceann an Bhalla ("Front Wall").

Claddagh (Irish: an Cladach, meaning 'the shore') is an area close to the centre of Galway city, where the River Corrib meets Galway Bay. It was formerly a fishing village, just outside the old city walls. It is just across the river from the Spanish Arch, which was the location of regular fish markets where the locals supplied the city with seafood as recently as the end of the 19th century. People have been gathering seafood and fishing from the area for millennia. It is one of the oldest former fishing villages in Ireland - its existence having been recorded since the arrival of Christianity in the 5th century.During the 19th century the Claddagh attracted many visitors, including writers who spread its fame. The original village of thatched cottages was razed in the 1930s and replaced by a council-housing scheme.The Claddagh is most famous internationally for the Claddagh ring, which is popular among those of Irish heritage as both a friendship and wedding ring. This traditional design consists of two clasped hands holding a crowned heart, and symbolises love, friendship and loyalty. The Claddagh area contains a national school, Community Centre and a Catholic Church as well as the new Claddagh Arts Centre. Notable natives of the area include Thomas Grady, recipient of the Victoria Cross.

Galway City Museum (Irish: Músaem Cathrach na Gaillimhe, IPA:[ˈmˠuːsˠeːmʲˈkahɾˠəxˈnˠaˈɡal̪ʲəvʲə]) is a museum in Galway City, County Galway, Ireland. It was founded on 29 July 2006, and is located beside the Spanish Arch.

Pálás (English: "Palace") is a cinema in Galway city. It opened in 2018, and has closed in February 2025 due to financial losses. It is owned by Galway City Council and was operated by the Light House Cinema group, as part of the Europa Cinemas network of local art-house cinemas.

It is a fine dining restaurant that is awarded one Michelin star in 2013 and retained that rating until present.The head chef to win the Michelin star was Enda McEvoy. He left in 2013 and Ultan Cooke took over. He retained the star for 2014. The owner Jp McMahon took over the kitchen upon Cooke's departure in June 2015. He retained the star that year.

It is a collegiate church and the parish church of St. Nicholas Church of Ireland parish, which covers Galway city. It was founded in 1320 and dedicated to Saint Nicholas of Myra, the patron saint of seafarers, in recognition of Galway's status as a port. The monumental work of Irish genealogy, the Leabhar na nGenealach was produced here in 1650 by Duḃaltaċ MacḞirḃisiġ (Dubhaltach MacFhirbhisigh).
