Lake Compounce Carousel

Wildcat is a wooden roller coaster located at Lake Compounce in Bristol, Connecticut. It was built in 1927 and is the park's centerpiece. It is one of the world's oldest roller coasters still in operation at the same location. It greatly resembles the now-defunct Wildcat roller coaster at Elitch Gardens Theme Park in Denver. Wildcat has received the American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) Coaster Landmark Award for its historical significance.

Boulder Dash is a wooden roller coaster located at Lake Compounce in Bristol, Connecticut. Construction for the coaster began in June 1999 and was completed in May 2000. The coaster was built by Custom Coasters International using Southern Yellow Pine wood; while the track is made of Douglas Fir. Amusement Today's annual Golden Ticket Awards ranked Boulder Dash as the world's best wooden roller coaster in 2004 and from 2013 to 2016. The trains were built by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters.

Lake Compounce is an amusement park located in Bristol and Southington, Connecticut. Opened in 1846, it is the oldest continuously operating amusement park in the United States. It spans 332 acres (134 ha), which includes a beach and a water park called Crocodile Cove included in the price of admission. The park was acquired from Kennywood Entertainment Company by Palace Entertainment, the U.S. subsidiary of Parques Reunidos. In addition to the 14th oldest wooden roller coaster in the world, Wildcat, its newer wooden roller coaster, Boulder Dash, has won the Golden Ticket Award for the #1 Wooden Coaster in the World for five consecutive years.

The Green Dragon was a wooden roller coaster located at Lake Compounce in Bristol, Connecticut. It opened in 1914 but was later replaced by the Wildcat. It was the first electrically powered roller coaster at the nation's oldest continuously operating amusement park. This roller coaster was demolished in 1927 to make way for the Wildcat.

Zoomerang is a steel shuttle roller coaster located at Lake Compounce in Bristol, Connecticut. A Boomerang model manufactured by Vekoma, it contains a cobra roll and a vertical loop. Zoomerang was the first boomerang coaster to receive a Vekoma-designed train. Early models used trains designed by Arrow Dynamics. In September 2007, due to paint deterioration, the ride was repainted with a new color scheme with purple tracks and teal supports.

Lincoln College of New England was a private college in Southington, Connecticut, founded in 1966 as Briarwood College. Lincoln's regional accreditor placed the college on probation in the summer of 2018; the institution subsequently stopped admitting students and announced that it would close in December.Lincoln College offered 24 degree programs, including legal assisting, medical assisting, and clinical assisting. Lincoln was known for its criminal justice, dental hygiene, mortuary science, nursing, and occupational therapy assistant programs. Tuition averaged $16,400 per year, with additional fees averaging $300. On-campus housing was available for up to 300 students, with average room prices of around $3,600 per year per student.

ESPN Plaza, sometimes referred to as the ESPN Campus, is a television production complex located in Bristol, Connecticut. The complex houses production and broadcasting facilities for ESPN, LLC including its ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews, ESPN Radio, ESPN Deportes, SEC Network, and the ACC Network networks along with the ESPN+ and ESPN Unlimited streaming services and studio segments for ESPN on ABC broadcasts. The facility is also where its SportsCenter and E:60 studio programs are broadcast from. In total, the complex spans 1,319,473 square feet.

West Street School is a historic one-room school house at 1432 West Street in Southington, Connecticut. Built about 1760, it is the oldest surviving school building in the town. It served the town as a school until 1946, and is now preserved by the Southington Historical Society. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

New England Baptist College is a Christian college located at 1541 West Street in Southington, Connecticut. It was founded in 2004 and is affiliated with the nearby Central Baptist Church and Central Christian Academy. It is an unaccredited Independent Fundamental Baptist College that trains young people to serve in various capacities of ministry. Founded in 2004 by Jim Townsley, New England Baptist College encourages students to give their hearts to God and to fulfill His purpose in their life.

On October 12, 2022, two police officers of the Bristol Police Department were shot and killed while responding to a domestic dispute in Bristol, Connecticut, United States. Nicholas Brutcher made a fake 9-1-1 call requesting the police and ambushed the three responding officers, Sergeant Dustin DeMonte, Officer Alex Hamzy, and Officer Alec Iurato, with a semi-automatic rifle. Brutcher killed Hamzy and fatally wounded DeMonte before he was then shot and killed by a wounded Iurato. DeMonte and Hamzy were posthumously promoted.

The Terry-Hayden House is a historic house on Middle Street in Bristol, Connecticut. Built in 1835 and enlarged in 1884, it is a well-preserved example of a Greek Revival house with a four-column temple portico. Now part of a professional office complex called Terry Commons, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Bristol Fletcher Terry Homestead (also known as the Terry Homestead and Fletcher Terry House) was a historical building in Bristol, Connecticut dating to 1748. After years of neglect, the building was demolished in 2012–2013.
