Far Hills is a borough in the Somerset Hills of northern Somerset County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 924, an increase of 5 (+0.5%) from the 2010 census count of 919, which in turn reflected an increase of 60 (+7.0%) from the 859 counted in the 2000 census. The borough is located within the Raritan Valley region.Far Hills was incorporated as a borough based on an Act of the New Jersey Legislature passed on April 7, 1921, from portions of Bernards Township, subject to the results of a referendum held on May 12, 1921. Far Hills is a dry town where alcohol is not permitted to be sold by law.In the Forbes magazine listing of the Most Expensive ZIP Codes in the United States, Far Hills was ranked 52 in 2010 (with median sale price of $2,067,451) and 87th in 2012 (with a median of $1,729,135). In 2018, New Jersey Business Magazine listed Far Hills at 12th in its listing of "The Most Expensive ZIP Codes in New Jersey", with a median sale price 2017 of $885,000.The 07931 ZIP Code extends beyond the borders of Far Hills into sections of other nearby Somerset Hills communities in Somerset and Morris counties including the boroughs of Bernardsville and Peapack-Gladstone; along with the townships of Bedminster, Bernards, Chester, and Mendham.

The Alexander and James Linn Homestead is a historic 36-acre (15 ha) property located on U.S. Route 202 (Mine Brook Road), between Lake and Sunnybranch roads, in the borough of Far Hills in Somerset County, New Jersey, United States. Built around 1750, the Linn House was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 27, 1988, for its significance in architecture and politics/government.

The Far Hills Races is a steeplechase horserace held annually in Far Hills, New Jersey, United States. The October 2021 event was the 100th running, and race day purses can equal up to or more than $1,000,000, with six races offering the highest purses on the National Steeplechase Association circuit. Considered one of the premier social events of the year in the tri-state area, it is attended by as many as 75,000 people annually. The Moggy Hollow Natural Area is a 14-acre (5.7 ha) nature preserve in Far Hills, Somerset County, New Jersey, United States. As the Wisconsin Glacier advanced, Glacial Lake Passaic formed eventually rising until it found an outlet at Moggy Hollow, draining to the Raritan River. It was designated a National Natural Landmark in January 1970.

The Leonard J. Buck Garden is a 33 acres (13 ha) public botanical garden and woodland garden operated by the Somerset County Park Commission, and located at 11 Layton Road, Far Hills, New Jersey, United States. The garden is one of the nation's premier rock gardens, featuring native and exotic plants displayed in a naturalistic setting of woodland, streams, and rock outcroppings. A wooded, rocky ravine is home to numerous wildflowers interspersed among flowering trees and shrubs. Its peak visiting time is spring.

Blairsden is a historic 62,000-square-foot (5,800 m2), 38-room mansion located in Peapack-Gladstone, New Jersey. Set high on a hilltop overlooking Ravine Lake, the mansion is part of what was originally an estate of 550 acres (2,200,000 m2). In addition to its 38 rooms, the mansion has 25 fireplaces and 19 bathrooms.

Bedminster is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) comprising the primary community in Bedminster Township, Somerset County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.The community is in northern Somerset County, in the east part of Bedminster Township. It is bordered to the east by the borough of Far Hills and to the north by the borough of Peapack and Gladstone. U.S. Routes 202 and 206 pass through the community. US 202 leads northeast 12 miles (19 km) to Morristown, while US 206 leads north 17 miles (27 km) to Netcong. Together, the two highways lead south 8 miles (13 km) to Somerville.

The Bedminster Township School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Bedminster, in Somerset County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2020–21 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had an enrollment of 486 students and 54.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 8.9:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. Natirar is an estate spanning 491 acres (1.99 km2) in Peapack-Gladstone, Far Hills and Bedminster, in Somerset County, New Jersey, United States. Its name is a reverse spelling of Raritan. The complex was built between 1910 and 1912. In 2003 it was sold by the estate of Hassan II, late King of Morocco, to Somerset County, New Jersey, and is now administered by the Somerset County Park Commission. Approximately 90 acres (360,000 m2) of the estate have been leased to develop that portion of the estate (which includes the mansion, stable/carriage barn and most of the other outbuildings) into an exclusive hotel, spa, restaurant complex.

The Northern precinct was one of three components of Somerset County, New Jersey, United States, that was created circa 1745 and existed until 1760. The Northern precinct, together with the Eastern precinct and Western precinct, were created as administrative divisions of Somerset County, while still under British colonial rule.Portions of the precinct were taken on April 4, 1749, to form both Bedminster Township and Bridgewater Township.On May 24, 1760, the remaining portions of the Northern precinct were taken to form Bernardston Township, which has since been renamed to Bernards Township. With the creation of Bernardston Township, Northern precinct was dissolved.
