St. Mary's Church, Stargard

Mill Gate (Polish: Brama Młyńska, German: Mühlentor) is an old entrance to the city of Stargard, in Poland, which functioned also as a watergate on Ina river. In medieval times the watch lowered a portcullis into the river for the night, which secured Stargard harbour, situated behind the fortification (an exception in this area), from intruders. Both towers have the so-called Stargard blend motive (the same as in St. Mary's church). Today the Mill Gate is the seat of Stargard's Society of Fine Art Lovers. In 2010, due to its historical and artistic values the Mill Gate, along with the medieval city walls of Stargard, was listed by the President of Poland as a Historic Monument of Poland. In 1454, during the Wheat War, the people of Szczecin, to prevent transport on the Ina river, stretched chains between its banks in an attempt to stop barges from Stargard. As a result of these actions, the people of Stargard appealed to Wartislaw IX to settle the dispute. He ruled in favor of the merchants from Stargard. As a sign of victory and contempt for the people of Szczecin, they tore down the chains obstructing the river channel and hung them on the Mill Gate, where they remain to this day.

Saint John's Church is a Roman Catholic church dedicated to St. Jana in Stargard, Poland. The parish church of the parish of St. Józefa (named after the former church located nearby), branch churches are located in Grabów, Kiczarów and Klępin . Church of St. Jana has the right of patronage over city churches.

Stargard railway station is a railway station serving the town of Stargard, in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. The station is located on the Poznań–Szczecin railway, Gdańsk–Stargard railway and Stargard–Godków railway. The train services are operated by PKP and Polregio. The first train pulled by a steam locomotive from Szczecin pulled into the station on 1 May 1846. In 1848, the line towards Poznan opened and from 1856 to 1859 a connection was made to Koszalin. At the end of the nineteenth century, connections to Pila and to Kostrzyn were built. The station was known as Stargard (Pommern) until 1945. Until 2015, the town was known as Stargard Szczeciński, the name of the station didn't change until June 2016.
