Donagh (pronounced DOH-nə, from Irish Domhnach, meaning 'church') is a small village and townland in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It lies between Lisnaskea and Newtownbutler in the south-east of the county. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 255. It is situated within Fermanagh and Omagh district. There is another townland called Donagh in County Fermanagh, as well as one in County Monaghan in the Republic of Ireland. Donagh was originally known in Irish as Ua Dúnáin Dhomhnaigh Maighe da Claoíne do Mharbhad (meaning 'O'Doonan's Church of the Plain of the Two Slopes'), later known in Irish as Domhnach Maighe Dhá Chlaoine (meaning 'Church of the Plain of the Two Slopes'). It was originally anglicised as 'Donoghmoychinny' or 'Donaghmoyline'. It was later anglicised simply as Donagh.

The A34 is a road in County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland. The route carries traffic from the A4 in Maguiresbridge (east of Enniskillen) via Lisnaskea and Newtownbutler (connecting with the B533 to Wattlebridge on the A3) to Clones in County Monaghan. The route is 15.2 miles long, however the last 1.2 miles lie in the Republic of Ireland, forming part of the R183 at Clones. The R183 continues to Castleblaney. The A34 runs to the east of Upper Lough Erne. The section between Lisnaskea and Newtownbutler once formed the old coach road between Dublin and Enniskillen.

Lisnaskea

Lisnaskea (from Irish Lios na Scéithe, meaning 'fort of the shield') is the second-biggest settlement in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It is situated mainly in the townland of Lisoneill, with some areas in the townland of Castle Balfour Demesne, both in the civil parish of Aghalurcher and the historic barony of Magherastephana. It had a population of 3,020 people at the 2021 Census.The nearby monument of Sciath Ghabhra is where the Maguires were crowned as kings and chiefs of Fermanagh. The town developed after the Plantation of Ulster and is built around the long main street. At the middle, the old market place, formerly known as The Diamond, contains a high cross (grid ref:H364340) from an early monastery. 19th century buildings include the former market house, corn market and butter market. The Castle Park Leisure Centre is situated just off the main street.

Castle Balfour Demesne

Castle Balfour Demesne is a townland of 201 acres in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. It is situated in the civil parish of Aghalurcher and the historic barony of Magherastephana. It contains part of the small town of Lisnaskea, with the remainder in the townland of Lisoneill.The townland contains the 17th-century remains of Castle Balfour, just off the main street in Lisnaskea, built around 1618 by James, Lord Balfour of Glenawley. The castle was altered in 1652 and damaged in 1689, but remained inhabited into the 19th century. It was restored and conserved in the 1960s and 1990s.There was also evidence of a very much earlier ringfort (with radiocarbon dates of 359-428 AD) in the townland suggesting the area was inhabited from a very early date. The listed Church of Ireland Holy Trinity Church is also situated in the townland.
