La Conejera

The Thomas van der Hammen Natural Reserve or Thomas van der Hammen Forest Reserve is an area of the Bogotá savanna that is under environmental protection. The natural reserve was declared as such in year 2000 by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable development. It takes its name from the Dutch-Colombian geologist Thomas van der Hammen who devoted his life to the research of the region. The surface area of the protected reserve is approximately 1,395 hectares (3,450 acres) and it is located in the north of Bogotá. The protection area has the purpose of creating an urban forest that connects the Bogotá River and the Eastern Hills of Bogotá, to preserve the underground water sources, improve the quality of the air and protect the diversity and activities of the animal species that exist there.Mayor of Bogotá Enrique Peñalosa has proposed construction in the Reserve that could host 1.5 million people.

The simple station La Campiña is part of the TransMilenio mass-transit system of Bogotá, Colombia, which opened in the year 2000.

Suba is the 11th locality of Bogotá, capital of Colombia. It is located in the northwest of the city, bordering to the north the municipality of Chía in Cundinamarca, to the west the municipality of Cota, to the east the locality Usaquén and to the south the localities Engativá and Barrios Unidos. This district is inhabited by residents of all social classes.

Tibabuyes (Spanish: Humedal de Tibabuyes) or Juan Amarillo Wetland is a wetland, part of the Wetlands of Bogotá, located in the localities Suba and Engativá, Bogotá, Colombia. The wetland, in the Juan Amarillo River basin on the Bogotá savanna is the largest of the wetlands of Bogotá and covers an area of 222 hectares (550 acres).With the planned construction of Avenida Longitudinal de Occidente/Cundinamarca Highway, there will have to be built an overpass, which will affect the wetlands. The indigenous community and the inhabitants of the neighbourhoods surrounding the place are opposed to it.

Engativá is the 10th locality of Bogotá. It is located in the west of the city. This district is mostly inhabited by lower middle and working class residents.

La Conejera Hill is a 2,680-metre (8,790 ft) high hill located in the north of Bogotá, Colombia. It has an area of 161.4 ha (399 acres), a prominence of 115 m (377 ft), and a height of 2,680 m (8,790 ft). It is an extended hill in a south-north direction, occupying the area between Calles 170 and 200, and Carreras 80 and 90. It borders the Thomas van der Hammen Natural Reserve, and is one of the sources of water recharge for wetland of La Conejera and other areas in the north of Bogotá. According to the District Environment Secretariat, La Conejera Hill is "one of the most important protected areas of District land in the city", due to its proximity to the urban area. There is a residential complex and multiple houses on the hill, in addition to the Antares Naval Club.

The Chibcha Terrane (Spanish: Terreno Chibcha, TCH), named after Chibcha, is the largest of the geological provinces (terranes) of Colombia. The terrane, the oldest explored domains of which date to the Meso- to Neoproterozoic, is situated on the North Andes Plate. The megaregional Romeral Fault System forms the contact of the terrane with the Tahamí Terrane. The contact with the Caribbean and La Guajira Terranes is formed by the regional Bucaramanga-Santa Marta Fault. The northeastern boundary is formed by the regional Oca Fault, bounding the La Guajira Terrane. The terrane is emplaced over the Río Negro-Juruena Province of the Amazonian Craton along the megaregional Eastern Frontal Fault System.

Colegio Helvetica de Bogotá (CHB; German: Schweizerschule Bogotá) is a Swiss international school in Bogotá, Colombia. It serves up to grade 12 (final year of Sekundarstufe II). It was founded in 1949. As of 2016 it has 780 students.

Jaboque (Spanish: Humedal de Jaboque) is a wetland, part of the Wetlands of Bogotá, located in the locality Engativá, Bogotá, Colombia. The wetland, close to the Bogotá River on the Bogotá savanna covers an area of 148 hectares (370 acres). The wetland is close to El Dorado International Airport in the Juan Amarillo River basin.

La Florida is a wetland and park known as the Parque Metropolitano La Florida. La Florida is located across the Bogotá River from Jaboque wetland in the municipality Funza, Cundinamarca, close to Cota. La Florida does not belong to the protected wetlands of Bogotá.
