Mountain Pine High School is a public six-year high school located in Mountain Pine, Arkansas, United States. Mountain Pine is one of eight public high schools in Garland County and the only high school of the Mountain Pine School District. For 2010–11, the school enrollment was 279 students occupying grades 7 through 12.

Mountain Pine is a city in Garland County, Arkansas, United States. It is part of the Hot Springs Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 770 at the 2010 United States Census. It is located immediately southeast of Lake Ouachita below the Blakely Mountain Dam. The city consists of five defined neighborhoods, Pinewood (north), South Mountain Pine, a business district (city hall, bank, post office, store), Cozy Acres (southwest) and Mountain View/Timberland area. Mountain Pine was founded as a company town in the late 1920s by Dierks Lumber and Coal Company, which operated a vast lumber mill on the town's east side. The mill was closed in 2006 by then-owners Weyerhaeuser, and later dismantled.

The county includes Hot Springs National Park, the only national park in the state of Arkansas as well as the first property to be protected under federal legislation. Glazypeau Creek is a stream in Garland County, in the U.S. state of Arkansas.Glazypeau is derived from the French "glaise à Paul", referring to a nearby salt lick.

The Gillham House is a historic house in rural Garland County, Arkansas. It is located north of the hamlet of Royal, about 0.5 miles (0.80 km) north of United States Route 270 on the east side of Gillham Road. It is a single story log dogtrot, with a side gable roof and a shed-roof porch across the front. Its original log structure is visible, with its log pens fastened by V-notch and center-notch joints. The house was built about 1866 by Philip Gillham, a Union Army veteran of the American Civil War.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Royal is an unincorporated community in Garland County, Arkansas, United States. It lies at an elevation of 489 feet (149 m). Royal is also the home to the only bronze foundry in Arkansas, Light and Time Design Studios. Royal is also closer in Piney, Garland County, Arkansas, etc.

The Harley E. Green House is a historic house on Arkansas Highway 926, just north of Bear, Arkansas. It is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, built in a cross-gable configuration with shed-roof sections in the corners of the cross. Some of these corner sections are enclosed, adding to the mass of the interior, while others shelter porches. The exterior and interior of the house both exhibit the detailed woodwork typical of the Stick/Eastlake style. The house was built in 1888 by Harley Green, a local woodworker, during Bear's brief boom period as a gold and silver mining town. Of more than fifty houses estimated to have been built by him, it is one of only four to survive.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Bear, formerly also called Bear City, is an unincorporated community in Garland County, Arkansas, United States. It is close to the shore of Lake Ouachita, which was formed by the construction of the Blakely Mountain Dam across the Ouachita River. Today, Bear has very few inhabitants and is surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest.

The Mid-America Science Museum is located in Hot Springs, Arkansas. It has more than 100 hands-on traveling and permanent exhibits. Many permanent exhibits were built in the early 1980s. Several of Rowland Emett's "things" (kinetic sculptures) are at the museum, including The Featherstone-Kite Openwork Basketweave Mark Two Gentleman’s Flying Machine, and several that appear in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as inventions of the character Caractacus Potts. One of the museum's permanent exhibits is the powerful conical Tesla coil, which can produce 1.5 million volts of electricity.

Piney is a census-designated place (CDP) in Garland County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 4,699 at the 2010 census.

The Arkansas Alligator Farm and Petting Zoo is a privately owned zoo located on Whittington Avenue in Hot Springs, Arkansas.The farm houses but does not raise alligators and has done so since it was founded in 1902. The farm includes a small museum with a collection of mounted alligators, a souvenir shop but there’s no snack bar. It includes the mummified carcass purporting to be a "Merman", similar to ones held in Ripley's Believe It or Not! museums.The main alligator pit contains a small headstone, a memorial to somebody's fox terrier that was killed by alligators on that spot in 1906.

Sunshine is an unincorporated community in Garland County, Arkansas, United States. On April 25, 2011, high winds – possibly a tornado – part of the storm system associated with the 2011 Super Outbreak hit the Sunshine area, destroying houses and trapping and injuring two people.
