Indian Cave Creek

White Oak Run (also known as White Oak Run No. 1) is a tributary of the Lackawanna River in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 3.4 miles (5.5 km) long and flows through Jefferson Township and Archbald. The watershed of the stream has an area of 5.11 square miles (13.2 km2). The stream is impacted by various types of debris, localized iron hydroxide deposits, stormwater, and combined sewer overflows. However, its middle and upper reaches are largely undisturbed. The White Oak Ravines are in the stream's watershed. A number of mine openings historically existed along White Oak Run. A bridge was also constructed across the stream in 1908. White Oak Run is designated as a Coldwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery. It has a stable riparian buffer in many of its reaches. Plants in the buffer include hemlocks and rhododendrons.

Laurel Run (also known as Laurel Run No. 3) is a tributary of the Lackawanna River in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 3.6 miles (5.8 km) long and flows through Jefferson Township and Archbald. The watershed of the stream has an area of 2.72 square miles (7.0 km2). The stream is somewhat affected by mine drainage. A reservoir known as the Laurel Run Reservoir is in the watershed and is dammed by the Cawley Dam. Waterfalls, ravines, ledges, and slides occur on some reaches of the stream. Additionally, the stream is a source of flooding in the borough of Archbald. Its drainage basin is designated as a Coldwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery.

WGMF (750 kHz) is a classic hits AM radio station broadcasting from Olyphant, Pennsylvania, serving the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. WGMF covers much of northeastern Pennsylvania, including Scranton and Wilkes-Barre. Referred to as "Gem 99 and 100", WQOR is owned by Kevin Fitzgerald and Benjamin Smith, through licensee Geos Communications, LLC, owner of WGMM in Tunkhannock, WAZL in Nanticoke, and WGMF-FM in Dushore. WGMF broadcasts at 1.6 kilowatts during the daytime. Because it shares the same frequency as "clear channel" station WSB in Atlanta, WGMF broadcasts only during the daytime hours.

Archbald is a borough in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is part of Northeastern Pennsylvania and is named for James Archbald, the first mayor of Carbondale, Pennsylvania. Before being renamed in Archbald's honor, the name of the settlement was White Oak Run. Most of the original settlers were Irish Catholics, fleeing the Great Famine. The population was 7,348 at the 2021 census.The village of Eynon is incorporated into Archbald.

Aylesworth Creek is a tributary of the Lackawanna River in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 4.9 miles (7.9 km) long and flows through Carbondale Township and the boroughs of Mayfield and Archbald. The watershed of the creek has an area of 6.73 square miles (17.4 km2). Part of the creek is impaired by abandoned mine drainage and/or resource extraction. The creek tends to be slightly acidic, but its iron, manganese, and aluminum concentrations do not need reduction to meet its total maximum daily load requirements. Its watershed is in the Appalachian Mountain section of the ridge and valley physiographic province. The headwaters of the creek are in the Moosic Mountains. The rock formations in the watershed mainly consist of interbedded sedimentary rock and sandstone. Lakes in the watershed of Aylesworth Creek include the Edgerton Reservoir and Aylesworth Creek Lake. The former is a former water supply reservoir, while the latter is used for flood control and recreation. The creek's upper reaches are mainly undisturbed, while the lower reaches are impacted by past mining operations and urban development. The significant majority of the watershed is forested. Pennsylvania State Game Lands are in the watershed's upper reaches and a tract of land maintained by the Lackawanna Valley Conservancy is at its mouth. Aylesworth Creek is designated as a Coldwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery.

Jefferson Township is a township in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,775 at the 2020 census.

Valley View High School is a suburban public high school located in Archbald, Pennsylvania. It is the sole high school operated by the Valley View School District. In 2014, enrollment was reported as 800 pupils in 9th through 12th grades. The school employed 52 teachers.Valley View High School students may choose to attend the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County (CTCLC) for training in the construction and mechanical trades. The Northeastern Educational Intermediate Unit IU19 provides the school with a wide variety of services like specialized education for disabled students and hearing, background checks for employees, state mandated recognizing and reporting child abuse training, speech and visual disability services and professional development for staff and faculty.

Callender Gap Creek (also known as Calender Gap Creek) is a tributary of the Lackawanna River in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 0.8 miles (1.3 km) long according to The National Map and flows through Archbald and Jermyn. The watershed of the creek has an area of 0.76 square miles (2.0 km2). The creek experiences total flow loss and is impaired. However, it is a coldwater fishery.

Rush Brook is a tributary of the Lackawanna River in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 5.1 miles (8.2 km) long and flows through Greenfield Township, Scott Township, Carbondale Township, Mayfield, and Jermyn. The watershed of the stream has an area of 6.01 square miles (15.6 km2). The stream is not considered to be impaired and all but its lower reaches are mostly undisturbed. However, Pennsylvania Route 107 is in its vicinity. The stream begins on the Allegheny Plateau and flows through a water gap. It is a perennial stream. Lakes in the watershed of Rush Brook include Heart Lake and the Rush Brook Reservoir. The stream is the main source of flooding in the borough of Jermyn. A number of bridges have been constructed across the stream. The drainage basin is designated as a Coldwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery. Wild trout naturally reproduce in a portion of the stream's length.

Jermyn, known as "The Birthplace of First Aid in America", is a borough which is located in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. Located on the Lackawanna River, it is 12 miles (19 km) northeast of Scranton. In 1900, the population was 2,567, much of it attracted by the prospects of finding work at a large anthracite coal site in the region. Coal mines, cut glass works, silk, powder, grist, planing, sawmills, bottling works, and fertilizer factories dotted the borough during the early years of the twentieth century. By the time of the 2020 census, the population had declined to 2,156.Jermyn is presently the mailing address of the Lakeland School District. East Jermyn, the section of town east of the Lackawanna River and west of the small section of Archbald known as "Nebraska", is commonly referred to as "Calico Lane" or "The Lane".

The Moosic Mountains is a mountain range in Northeastern Pennsylvania that stretches from Scranton to Mount Pleasant Township, a distance of roughly 32 miles.The high point of the range is in Jefferson Township, at an elevation of 2,323 feet (708 meters) above sea level, which is the highest point in the Pocono Mountains and 27th-highest in Pennsylvania.

Mayfield is a borough in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States, approximately 14 miles (23 km) northeast of Scranton. In the past, it contained a silk mill and a coal mining industry. The population was 1,763 at the 2020 census.
