St. Anselm's Abbey School is an all-boys preparatory school for grades six through twelve in Washington D.C., United States. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington. The school sits on a 40-acre wooded campus in the Michigan Park neighborhood of the city's Northeast quadrant. It is run by the Benedictine monks of Saint Anselm's Abbey.

St. Anselm's Abbey is a Benedictine Abbey located at 4501 South Dakota Avenue, N.E., in Washington, D.C. It operates the boys' middle and high school St. Anselm's Abbey School, which was ranked by the Washington Post as the most challenging in Washington, D.C., and as the most challenging private high school in the U.S.

St. Ann's Center for Children, Youth and Families, formerly known as St. Ann's Infant and Maternity Home, is administered by the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington. It is located at 4901 Eastern Avenue in Avondale, Maryland. It provides housing and support to pregnant and parenting young women and their children, as well as quality day care to the children of working families.

The Archdiocese of Washington is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or archdiocese of the Catholic Church in the United States. Its territorial remit encompasses the District of Columbia and the counties of Calvert, Charles, Montgomery, Prince George's and Saint Mary's in the state of Maryland. It was originally part of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The archdiocese crosses a state line. Three other U.S. Latin Church dioceses (Wilmington, Norwich and Gallup) also do this, but they each have territory in more than one state.The Archdiocese of Washington is home to The Catholic University of America, the only national university operated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and Georgetown University, the oldest Catholic and Jesuit institution of higher education in the country. In addition, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, a minor basilica dedicated to the nation's patroness, the Immaculate Conception, is located within it, and it is not the archdiocesan cathedral (nor even a parish of the archdiocese). The cathedral of the archdiocese is the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in downtown Washington.

St. Joseph's Seminary is a former Catholic major seminary and current house of formation in Washington, D.C. for the Society of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart (also known as the Josephites), a Catholic society of apostolic life that serves African Americans. The seminary was the first in the United States to accept Black men into formation for the Catholic priesthood and religious life. St Joseph's was originally founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 1888 by Fr John R. Slattery for the Mill Hill Missionaries, from which the Josephites became independent 5 years later. The Josephite iteration of the seminary was relocated to DC in 1930.The seminary property was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in September 2022.

Providence Hospital was a 408-bed hospital located in the District of Columbia, United States. Founded in 1861 on Capitol Hill by the Roman Catholic Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul, it was the longest continuously operating hospital and the last public hospital in the District. It moved to Brookland in 1956. Providence Hospital was a member of Ascension Health, the largest non-profit health care organization in the United States.

Riggs Park, also known as "Lamond Riggs", is a residential neighborhood in Ward 4 of Northeast Washington, D.C. Riggs Park is contained between Eastern Avenue N.E. to the east, Riggs Road N.E. to the south, North Capitol Street N.W. to the north and west, and the Blair Road Community Garden to the north. Riggs Park is adjacent to the neighborhoods of Queens Chapel, North Michigan Park, and Fort Totten, located in Ward 5 of Northeast Washington D.C. In addition to these neighborhoods, Riggs Park also borders the city/neighborhood Chillum, which is located in Prince George's County, Maryland. The WMATA Red Line train tracks pass through the Riggs Park neighborhood when traveling between the Takoma and Fort Totten Metro Stations. In addition to the WMATA Red Line, the CSX, MARC, and Amtrak train tracks, pass through the Riggs Park neighborhood as well.

Avondale is an unincorporated community in Prince George's County Maryland, United States. It is contained between Eastern Avenue NE to the south, Queens Chapel Road (MD-500) to the east, and the Northwest Branch Anacostia River to the north and west. Avondale borders the neighborhoods of Hyattsville, Chillum, Green Meadows, and Mount Rainier in Prince George's County, Maryland. In addition to these neighborhoods in Prince George's County, Avondale also borders the North Michigan Park neighborhood of Northeast Washington D.C. The Avondale neighborhood consists of three small subdivisions since being established: Avondale, Avondale Terrace, and North Avondale. For statistical purposes, Avondale is part of the Chillum census-designated place (CDP), even though Avondale is actually a completely separate neighborhood from Chillum.

North Michigan Park is a neighborhood located in Ward 5 of Northeast Washington, D.C. North Michigan Park is contained between Eastern Avenue N.E. to the east, Gallatin Street N.E. to the north, Michigan Avenue N.E. to the south, and South Dakota Avenue N.E. to the west. North Michigan Park borders the neighborhoods of Michigan Park, Queens Chapel, and Woodridge, which also are located in Ward 5 of Northeast Washington D.C. In addition to these neighborhoods in Ward 5 of Northeast Washington D.C., North Michigan Park also borders the adjacent neighborhoods of Avondale and Chillum, which are both located in Prince George's County, Maryland. North Michigan Park neighborhood is often confused with the North Michigan Park Civic Association which has boundaries that include both North Michigan Park and Michigan Park. North Michigan Park and Michigan Park neighborhoods have been historically designated as separate neighborhoods due to the fact that they were segregated by race. North Michigan Park was the less desirable neighborhood where African-Americans lived while Michigan Park was a much more desirable neighborhood where the neighborhood where their white counterparts lived. Both neighborhoods are separated from each other by South Dakota Avenue N.E. The Washington Metropolitan Area Green Line train tracks pass through the North Michigan Park neighborhood, notably, through a tunnel when traveling between the West Hyattsville and Fort Totten Metro Stations. The Washington Metropolitan Area Green Line train tracks initially are above ground when traveling between the West Hyattsville Metro Station and a certain portion of the neighborhood of Avondale. The Washington Metropolitan Area Green Line tracks then gradually enter a tunnel, which they use throughout the rest of the Avondale neighborhood, a small portion of the Chillum neighborhood, the North Michigan Park neighborhood, and Queens Chapel neighborhood before entering the lower level portion of the Fort Totten Metro Station, located below the Washington Metropolitan Area Red Line train tracks.

The Children's Country Home, also known as the Hospital for Sick Children, is a historic building located in Washington, D.C.'s Woodridge neighborhood.

The Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America is a Franciscan complex at 14th and Quincy Streets in the Brookland neighborhood of Northeast Washington, D.C. Located on a hill called Mount Saint Sepulcher, and anchored by the Memorial Church of the Holy Sepulcher, it includes gardens, replicas of various shrines throughout Israel, a replica of the catacombs in Rome, an archive, a library, as well as bones of Saint Benignus of Armagh, brought from the Roman catacombs and originally in the cathedral of Narni, Italy.

University Heights is a neighborhood adjacent to The Catholic University of America in Ward 5 of Northeast Washington, D.C. in the Upper Northeast area element. It is located east of the University and west of the Franciscan Monastery, bounded by the tracks for the Red Line of the Washington Metro to the west; 14th Street NE to the east; Taylor Street to the north; and Otis Street to the south. University Heights is in DC Neighborhood Cluster 20 along with the Michigan Park (Washington, D.C.) and North Michigan Park neighborhoods. University Heights is often thought of as a section of the Brookland neighborhood, largely because Brookland Elementary School is inside University Heights, but is actually a separate neighborhood north of Brookland proper. Contained within University Heights are Fort Bunker Hill Park and Turkey Thicket Park & Recreation Center.
