Fort Bliss National Cemetery

The Fort Bliss Main Post Historic District, at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, is a 339 acres (137 ha) historic district which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. The listing included 343 contributing buildings, two contributing structures, and a contributing site on the Fort Bliss military installation.During the initial construction of Fort Bliss, during 1891–1899, 27 buildings were built that survive and are counted as contributing buildings in the district, of which 16 are notable for their architecture. These include examples of Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, and Greek Revival architecture. An example is Building 8, a two-story hospital building.There is also Mission Revival present on the base.

The Pershing House, historically known as Quarters Number 1, is a building at 228 Sheridan Road in the Fort Bliss Main Post Historic District at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. It was built in 1910 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

Fort Bliss is a United States Army post in New Mexico and Texas, with its headquarters in El Paso, Texas. Named in honor of LTC William Bliss (1815–1853), a mathematics professor who was the son-in-law of President Zachary Taylor, Ft. Bliss has an area of about 1,700 square miles (4,400 km2); it is the largest installation in FORSCOM (United States Army Forces Command) and second-largest in the Army overall (the largest being the adjacent White Sands Missile Range). The portion of the post located in El Paso County, Texas, is a census-designated place with a population of 8,591 as of the time of the 2010 census. Fort Bliss provides the largest contiguous tract (1,500 sq mi or 3,900 km2) of restricted airspace in the Continental United States, used for missile and artillery training and testing, and at 992,000 acres (401,000 ha) boasts the largest maneuver area (ahead of the National Training Center, which has 642,000 acres (260,000 ha)). The garrison's land area is accounted at 1.12 million acres (0.45×10^6 ha), ranging to the boundaries of the Lincoln National Forest and White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. Fort Bliss also includes the Castner Range National Monument.

Chapin High School is a public high school in El Paso, Texas. Chapin is located at the intersection of Dyer Street and Ellerthorpe Avenue on land reserved for the United States Government and is a part of the El Paso Independent School District. It is the only high school in the continental United States that is on government property but not owned by the government. The school enrolls over 1,800 students in grades 9 to 12. Nearly half of the students are military dependents from nearby Fort Bliss. The school also accepts students from throughout the city of El Paso as part of its pre-engineering magnet program.

Camp Newton D. Baker was a United States Army post located near El Paso, Texas. The post was in operation from 1916 to 1920. It was used as a mobilization center for border patrols and as a Signal Corps training center. The post was named after Secretary of War Newton D. Baker.

The Diocese of El Paso (Latin: Dioecesis Elpasensis, Spanish: Diócesis de El Paso) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in West Texas. Covering 26,686 square miles (69,120 km2), it encompasses the Texas counties of El Paso, Brewster, Culberson, Hudspeth, Jeff Davis, Loving, Presidio, Reeves, Ward and Winkler with approximately 668,000 professing members, being 80.8% of the total population, served by 107 priests, 54 parishes and 237 male and female religious. The see is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of San Antonio. Erected on 3 March 1914, the Diocese of El Paso originally covered nearly 65,000 square miles (170,000 km2) in West Texas and southern New Mexico having been created from parts of the dioceses of Dallas, San Antonio and Tucson. The present boundaries of the diocese were established on 17 August 1982 when the New Mexico portion of the diocese was split off to form part of the newly created Diocese of Las Cruces. The Diocese of El Paso is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of San Antonio.

The Mesilla Valley is a geographic feature of Southern New Mexico and far West Texas. It was formed by repeated heavy spring floods of the Rio Grande.

Founded as El Paso del Norte (at what is now Ciudad Juárez, Mexico) by Spanish Franciscan friars at an important mountain pass, the area became a small agricultural producer though most settlement was south of the river where modern Mexico lies. The city was considered part of New Mexico under Spanish Conquerors and was tied economically to Santa Fe, New Mexico and the Chihuahuan mining districts of San Felipe El Real and San José del Parral. The Texas Revolution when Texas revolted from Mexico, which itself had recently become independent from Spain, did not involve paseños as the region was a part of Chihuahua. However, after Texas' annexation by the United States the boundary of the state was claimed to include what would become this important trading center. As railroads were built through the area it boomed as a commercial center. The World Wars and the Texas Oil Boom helped develop the city further. As international trade has become increasingly important in the U.S., and Juárez has grown as a manufacturing center, El Paso's economic importance has continued to expand.

Stephen F. Austin High School is a high school in El Paso, Texas. Austin opened in 1930. It is part of the El Paso Independent School District. The school's mascot is a golden panther named "Henry." Austin High School is located in the heart of historic Central El Paso and serves the Central community. The school was designed by Texas contractor and architect Robert E. McKee. When the local school district ran out of money during the construction, McKee donated the remainder owed. Consequently, the school's football stadium is named in McKee's honor. The R.E. McKee Construction Company built the school and used a classic Spanish architecture. The structure is surmounted by a 103-foot tower. The classrooms had marble floors and the hallways are floored with terrazzo.The Aero Vista area of Fort Bliss is zoned to Austin High.

William Beaumont Army Medical Center is a Department of Defense medical facility located in Fort Bliss, Texas. It provides comprehensive care to all beneficiaries including active duty military, their family members, and retirees. The hospital is located in the Central/Northeastern part of El Paso, and provides emergency department services for Northeast El Paso. The current 1.1-million-square-foot, 6-building medical complex opened July 10, 2021 on East Fort Bliss. WBAMC is affiliated with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine which is also located in El Paso, Texas. WBAMC is also a participating hospital for medical residents from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) and nursing students from the University of Texas at El Paso School of Nursing and the El Paso Community College Nursing School. The current commander of WBAMC is Colonel Brett Venable.

Loretto Academy is a private Roman Catholic school in El Paso, Texas. It was opened in 1923 and was founded by Mother M. Praxedes Carty. is a part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso. Grades Pre-K3-5 are coeducational, while grades 6-12 are all girls.

Mountain View is a neighborhood in Northeast El Paso, in the city of El Paso, Texas. Its boundaries are commonly considered to be Dyer Street on the west, Railroad Drive on the east, Hondo Pass Avenue on the north, and on the south, Hercules Avenue and the intersection of Diana Drive and Railroad Drive; this includes the city-designated neighborhoods of Las Sierras and Restlawn (around the cemetery by that name) as well as Mountain View North and South, which lie east of Diana Drive. Mountain View was built beginning in the early 1950s and is a moderate-income area dominated by aging single-family homes, mainly of stucco or brick, which has long been home to many active-duty soldiers stationed at Fort Bliss and retired Army personnel. Besides the large, privately owned Restlawn Cemetery on Dyer Street at Alps Drive, Mountain View also has a county pauper's cemetery, the MacGill Cemetery, located at the northern end of Pandora Street next to Magoffin Middle School and Mountain View Park; Nations Tobin Park, a large regional city park, is in the northeastern part of Mountain View on Railroad Drive. Businesses in the neighborhood are mostly found along its edges, on Dyer Street, Hondo Pass Avenue, and Railroad Drive, as well as on Hercules Avenue between Dyer and Diana; there is a large older shopping center, Sunrise Center, on Dyer Street at Tetons Drive, once known for its distinctive tall blue spire lit from within. There is an annual Easter parade, the NorthEastern Parade, along Diana Drive beginning at Hercules Avenue and proceeding north as far as Dyer Street. Many of the streets in Mountain View are named for mountains or mountain ranges (Mount Everest, Mount Whitney, Mount Hood, Andes, Alps), except for the streets in the southeast corner, many of which are named for Army bases (Riley, Bragg, Benning).
