Albans Wood is a 4.1 hectares (10 acres) local nature reserve in Watford in Hertfordshire. It is owned and managed by Watford Borough Council.The site is ancient semi-natural woodland. It is mainly oak with other trees including beech, horse chestnut and sweet chestnut. There are mammals such as muntjac deer and noctule bats, butterflies including purple hairstreak and speckled wood, and birds such as great spotted woodpeckers and nuthatches.There is access from Sheepcot Lane.

Watford Town Cricket Club Ground, at Woodside Playing Fields, is a cricket ground on the northern outskirts of Watford, Hertfordshire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1944, when the Combined Services played Northamptonshire. In 1976, the ground hosted its first Minor Counties Championship match when Hertfordshire played Norfolk. From 1976 to 1991, the ground played host to 11 Minor Counties Championship matches and a single MCCA Knockout Trophy match.The ground has also hosted List-A matches. The first List-A match held on the ground came in the 1977 Benson & Hedges Cup when Minor Counties West played Derbyshire. The following year the ground was used once again by Minor Counties West in the 1978 competition against Lancashire. The following year Minor Counties South used the ground as a home venue, in a match against Glamorgan. In 1980, a combined Minor Counties team played against Essex in the 1980 Benson & Hedges Cup. In 1981, Middlesex used the ground for a List-A match against the touring Sri Lankans. In 1983 the ground was selected to host a 'warm-up' match ahead of the World Cup, between India and New Zealand. The quality of the pitches was the main reason for the selection of an amateur club's ground, thanks to the efforts and expertise of groundsman Peter Southam who was an employee of Watford Borough (which still owns Woodside) and devoted his time and attention to the Woodside sports pitches, especially cricket and bowls. In local domestic cricket, Watford Town Cricket Club Ground is the home ground of Watford Town Cricket Club.In May 2021 Watford Borough Council announced plans to improve the Woodside Playing Fields park area, including a new cricket pavilion.

Leavesden is a residential and commercial area in the northern part of Watford, England. It lies within the M25 Motorway. On its eastern side it is bounded by the M1 Motorway. Leavesden is split into two councils which are Watford Borough Council and Three Rivers District Council. Leavesden Green is an adjoining residential community which lies partly in Three Rivers and partly in the Borough of Watford. Leavesden is the location of Leavesden Studios, built on the site of RAF Leavesden a former World War II airfield and wartime aircraft factory, and where one of the James Bond, and all of the Harry Potter, film franchises were produced.

Woodside Stadium is the home of Watford Harriers Athletics Club It is situated in Watford in Hertfordshire and has a seated capacity of 708. Other local athletics clubs training at the stadium include Chiltern Harriers, and Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers. The venue hosts local school sports league meetings, Southern Men's League, Southern Women's League, Eastern Young Athletes League fixtures for Watford Harriers, in addition to widely attended Open Graded Meetings and British Milers Club competitions.

Situated in 40 acres of parkland in the village of Garston, it was founded by the Seventh-day Adventist church and remains under the governance of the church. It is a member of the Independent Schools Association. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system.

Parmiter's School is a co-educational state comprehensive school with academy status in Garston, Hertfordshire, close to the outskirts of North West London, England with a long history. Although the school admits pupils of all abilities it is partially selective. It is currently the most oversubscribed school in Hertfordshire, and has often been recognised by the DfES for being one of the highest performing schools in the country by value added and score as a mixed ability school.

Garston is a suburban village in Hertfordshire, England. Garston is contiguous with Watford and now, despite retaining a local identity, is effectively a suburb. It is within the Stanborough, Woodside and Meriden wards of the borough of Watford, although a small number of its streets are in Hertsmere. The Building Research Establishment has its headquarters within Garston. Garston has several large secondary schools including St Michael's Catholic High School, Parmiter's School and Future Academies Watford, formerly known as Francis Combe. The A41 is the perceived border of Garston and North Watford; it crosses St Albans Road (A412) at the Dome Roundabout.

Harebreaks Wood is 5.1 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Watford in Hertfordshire. It is owned by Watford Borough Council and managed by the council and the Friends of Harebreaks Wood.The site is semi-natural woodland of oak, ash and cherry, which goes back to at least 1600. It is a remnant of a much larger wood known in the nineteenth century as Longspring and Leggatts Wood, and was grazed by livestock. Birds include great-spotted woodpecker, treecreeper and nuthatch, and there mammals such as muntjac deer and pipistrelle bats.There is access from Leggatts Way and The Harebreaks.
