Adolphus Hotel

The Baker Hotel was a former grand hotel located in the heart of downtown, Dallas, Texas, across the landmark Adolphus Hotel and the Magnolia Hotel. Its interiors were remodeled in 1972 after a fire, and was imploded in 1980 to make way for the Whitacre Tower, which occupies its site today.

Whitacre Tower, also known as One AT&T Plaza, and formerly known as One Bell Plaza, is a 37-story high-rise in Downtown Dallas, built adjacent to the Akard Street Mall in 1984. The building is the headquarters for AT&T and Southwestern Bell Telephone, which operates as "AT&T Southwest". It is 580 feet (177 m) tall, the 13th-tallest building in the city. The white stone and glass skyscraper has over 1,000,000 square feet (93,000 m2) of office space.

The Magnolia Hotel (sometimes called the Magnolia Building, originally the Magnolia Petroleum Building) is a 29-story, Beaux-Arts style, upscale hotel in the Main Street District of downtown Dallas, Texas, that for many years was the tallest building in the state after surpassing the Adolphus Hotel. The structure is a Dallas Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Pegasus Plaza is a public park located in downtown Dallas, Texas. Located at the corner of Akard and Main Street in the Main Street District, the plaza takes its name from Pegasus, the iconic sign atop the adjacent Magnolia Hotel and the mythical flying horse. The shaded plaza includes several fountains and is used for concerts, festivals and Christmas celebrations.

Allen Brooks was a Black American man, who was lynched by a mob on March 3, 1910, in Dallas, Texas. Brooks, in his 60s, had been accused of raping a young white girl, and on the day he was set to face trial at the Dallas County Courthouse, a large mob pulled him by rope out of a second-story window at the courthouse, dragged him to Elks Arch, and hanged him from a telephone pole. The site of Brooks' lynching was unmarked for 111 years until a nonprofit placed a historical marker in 2021. The organization Remembering Black Dallas planned activities and programs for local high school students, with scholarships that support students writing on the history of racist violence and the civil rights movement in Dallas. Financial support for the marker and the scholarships was provided by the Equal Justice Initiative.

The Kirby Building, historically known as the Busch Building, is a 17-story skyscraper in the Main Street District of Downtown Dallas. The structure was completed in 1913 by beer magnate Adolphus Busch to accompany his nearby Hotel Adolphus. The building became vacant with many older buildings during the economic downturn of the 1980s. While the building was symbolic of downtown's crash in the 1980s, it also served as a symbol of the start of the resurrection as it became the first high-rise to be converted from office use to residential apartments. The structure is a Dallas Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Dallas Downtown Historic District is a 90.8-acre (36.7 ha) area in downtown Dallas, Texas, United States that was designated a historic district in 2006 to preserve the diverse architectural history of the area.

The Singer Building is a 3-story commercial structure located at 1514 Elm Street in the Main Street District in Downtown Dallas, Texas. The structure is one of a handful of original early commercial structures along Elm Street; many others were demolished and replaced by large office blocks during various building booms.

The Praetorian Building, also known as Stone Place Tower, was a 15-story, 58 m (190 ft) high-rise constructed in 1909 at Main Street and Stone Street in the Main Street District of downtown Dallas, Texas. It was regarded the first skyscraper in Texas and the first skyscraper in the Southwestern United States. It was among the first skyscrapers built in the entire Western United States, following the 1885 Lumber Exchange Building in Minneapolis, Minnesota and other taller towers in Minneapolis, San Francisco, Omaha, and Kansas City.However, the Praetorian Building remained the tallest building in Dallas only until 1912. It was 190 feet (58 meters) tall with 15 floors of office space. Plans for its redevelopment were eventually disbanded and the building's deconstruction was completed in the summer of 2013.

Eye, also known as the Giant Eyeball, is a public sculpture of a blue eye in Dallas, Texas, in the city's Main Street District. The gated grounds around the sculpture, formerly home to the Praetorian Building and currently owned by The Joule Hotel, are used as a private event space. It is located on 1601 Main Street and is made of fiberglass, resin, and steel detailed with oil paint.

The Neiman Marcus Building is a historic commercial structure located in the Main Street District in downtown Dallas, Texas (USA). It is the corporate headquarters and flagship store of Neiman Marcus. It is the last of the original department stores still serving downtown Dallas. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a contributing property of the Dallas Downtown Historic District.

The Group filed for bankruptcy on May 7, 2020, and emerged from Chapter 11 restructuring in late September 2021. Since September 2021, NMG has been owned by a group of investment companies led by Davidson Kempner Capital Management, Sixth Street Partners and Pacific Investment Management.
