Dupont is a borough in the Greater Pittston area of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 2,536 as of the 2020 census.

Pittston Area School District (PASD) is a mid-sized school district located in the Greater Pittston area of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, the north-eastern part of the state, in the United States. The school district serves students from the city of Pittston, the boroughs of Avoca, Dupont, Duryea, Hughestown, Yatesville, Jenkins, and Pittston townships. Pittston Area School District encompasses approximately 42 square miles. According to 2000 federal census data, it serves a resident population of 30,034. In 2019, the residents' per capita income was $16,811 and the median family income was $40,063. Per school district officials, in school year 2005–06, the PASD provided basic educational services to 3,147 pupils through the employment of 196 teachers, 159 full-time and part-time support personnel, and 10 administrators. PASD was created in 1969 by merging Pittston School District, Pittston Township School District, Hughestown School District, Dupont School District, Duryea School District, and Avoca School District. The first superintendent was Martin Mattei. PASD currently runs four schools: Pittston Area Senior High School in Yatesville (grades 9 through 12), Martin L. Mattei Middle School in Pittston (grades 5 through 8), Pittston Area Intermediate Center in Pittston (grades 2 through 4), Pittston Area Primary School in Hughestown (Kindergarten and first grades).

Avoca is a borough within the Greater Pittston area of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located 7.5 miles (12.1 km) northeast of Wilkes Barre and 3.4 miles (5.5 km) southwest of Scranton. The population was 2,501 at the time of the 2020 census. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport borders Avoca to east.

Collins Creek is a tributary of Mill Creek in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 2.8 miles (4.5 km) long and flows through Pittston Township and Dupont. The watershed of the creek has an area of 1.39 square miles (3.6 km2). The creek has no named tributaries, but several drainage ditches flow into it. It is a Coldwater Fishery and is not impaired. The creek is one source of flooding in Pittston Township.

WGGY-HD2 is a Spanish CHR radio station in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The subchannel previously carried an adult album alternative format. The station's website stated "Independent Radio" as part of its mission. Station IDs often included the phrase "It's different here." On August 5, 2013 The Mountain moved from its original frequency at 102.3 MHz under the call letters of WDMT to the HD2 sub-channel of 98.5 WKRZ and assumed the call letters WKRZ-HD2. WGGY and 98.5 KRZ are owned and operated by Audacy including radio stations WKRZ, WGGY, WILK-FM, WILK and most recently WHBS, taking The Mountain's frequency at 102.3 MHz under a new format. On April 26, 2019 The Mountain moved to WGGY's HD2 signal. In 2023, WGGY-HD3’s format moved to HD2.

WILK-FM (103.1 MHz, "WILK Newsradio") is a commercial news/talk radio station licensed to Avoca, Pennsylvania. Owned by Audacy, Inc., WILK-FM extends its broadcast range throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania with two full-power repeaters: WILK in Wilkes-Barre and WAAF in Scranton. The station's studios and offices are on Route 315 in Pittston, while the station transmitter tower is located east of Yatesville at (41°18′20.0″N 75°45′37.0″W). In addition to a standard analog transmission, WILK-FM broadcasts over two HD Radio channels with a sports gambling format on its HD2 digital subchannel, and is available online via Audacy. WILK-FM has a weekday schedule with mostly local hosts. At night, the stations air nationally syndicated shows including Dave Ramsey, Ben Shapiro, Coast to Coast AM with George Noory and America in The Morning. Weekends feature shows on money, health, technology and science. Weekend syndicated hosts include Kim Komando, Clark Howard, Dr. Michio Kaku and Art Bell Somewhere in Time. Most hours begin with world and national news from ABC News Radio. The stations also carries play-by-play sports including Penn State Nittany Lions football and basketball, as well as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins minor league hockey.

The station is owned by Audacy, Inc., through licensee Audacy License, LLC, and airs a Spanish tropical format. Its broadcast tower is located near Dupont, Pennsylvania, at (41°18′20.0″N 75°45′37.0″W). Its programming is also simulcast on WLMZ (1300 AM) in West Hazleton. WLMZ-FM uses HD Radio and broadcasts Audacy's LGBTQ talk and dance music service branded as "Channel Q" on its HD2 subchannel.

Duryea is a borough in the Greater Pittston area of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States, 9 miles (14 km) south of Scranton. The Susquehanna River marks Duryea's western boundary and the Lackawanna River flows through Duryea. It was incorporated as a borough in 1901, and had a notable switching rail yard, the Duryea yard (or Muller yard), connecting the central Wyoming Valley to destinations in lower New York and down-state Pennsylvania (in Harrisburg and Philadelphia). Coal mining and silk manufacturing were the chief industries in Duryea's early years. The population was 5,032 at the 2020 census.

Hughestown is a borough in the Greater Pittston area of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,326 at the 2020 census.

Mill Creek (also known as Little Mill Creek) is a tributary of the Lackawanna River in Luzerne County and Lackawanna County, in Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 5.5 miles (8.9 km) long and flows through Pittston Township, Dupont, Avoca, and Duryea in Luzerne County and Moosic in Lackawanna County. The watershed of the creek has an area of 10.6 square miles (27 km2). It is designated as a Coldwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery. The creek has two named tributaries: Collins Creek and Lidy Creek. The surficial geology in its vicinity includes urban land, coal dumps, surface mining land, Wisconsinan Ice-Contact Stratified Drift, Wisconsinan Till, and bedrock.

Erie Railroad Co. v. Although Erie is not widely known among non-experts, most American legal scholars and lawyers regard it as one of the most important decisions in U.S. Supreme Court history. The decision "goes to the heart" of the American system of federalism and the relationship between the U.S. federal government and the states.

Saint Johns Creek (also known as St Johns Creek or Ascension Brook) is a tributary of the Lackawanna River in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is approximately 6.4 miles (10.3 km) long and flows through Ransom Township, Taylor, and Old Forge. The watershed of the creek has an area of 7.20 square miles (18.6 km2). It is designated as a Coldwater Fishery and a Migratory Fishery. However, it is considered to be impaired by flow alterations and siltation/sedimentation and is also an intermittent stream. There were historically two superfund sites on the creek. A number of bridges cross the creek and the Lehigh Valley Railroad historically passed through the watershed.
