St Peter's Church is a Church of England parish church in the village of Roydon in Essex, England.

Roydon is a village located in the Epping Forest district of the county of Essex, England. It is located 2 miles (3.2 km) west of Harlow, 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Hoddesdon and 5 miles (8.0 km) northwest of Epping, forming part of the border with Hertfordshire. The village lies on the Stort Navigation and River Stort. Roydon is recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Ruindune, and appears later as Reidona in c. 1130, as Reindon in 1204, and as Roindon in 1208.The village has a village shop, sub post office, pharmacy and church. The church, St Peter's, dates from the Middle Ages and was given Grade I listed status on 20 February 1967.Briggens House dating back to the 18th century was used as a forgery centre for the WW2 SOE.

Briggens House is a Grade II listed 18th-century house and parklands near the village of Roydon, Essex, England. It has a number of features from the garden designer Charles Bridgeman from 1720. There are also some remains of the pleasure gardens developed by Lord Hunsden in 1908.

St James' Church is a redundant Anglican church near the village of Stanstead Abbotts, Hertfordshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England (NHLE) as a Grade I listed building, having been designated in 1967. The church is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. The church is about 1 mile (1.6 km) to the southeast of the village on the north side of the B181 road. It stands on the top of a hill overlooking the Lea marshes.The description in the NHLE states it is "of outstanding interest as a medieval church with an unrestored 18th-century interior". In the Buildings of England series, the architectural historian Nikolaus Pevsner wrote "Inside there are few churches in the county which have so well preserved an 18th-century village character".

Hunsdon Mead is a 34 hectare biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) west of Harlow and east of Roydon in Essex. The site is partly in Essex and partly in Hertfordshire, and it is jointly owned and managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust and the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust. The SSSI also includes part of the neighbouring Roydon Mead. The planning authorities are East Hertfordshire District Council and Epping Forest District Council. Hunsdon Mead is registered common land.Hunsdon Mead is located between the River Stort and the Stort Navigation. It is unimproved grassland which is subject to winter flooding. As a result of its location and traditional management it supports a number of uncommon plants. Notable grass species include meadow brome and the quaking grass Briza media, and there are other unusual flora such as pepper saxifrage and green-winged orchid. Roydon Mead lies east of the Stort Navigation, and both have large flocks of over-wintering birds.There is access from the Stort Navigation towpath.

The Tollhouse Stream is a watercourse in Hertfordshire, England. It rises in the Rye Meads a sewage treatment works on the northeastern bank of the River Lea close to Hoddesdon before flowing in a southeasterly direction. Treated effluent is discharged into the stream before merging with the River Stort shortly before its confluence with the River Lea.

Nether Hall or Netherhall is a former manor in Roydon, Essex, England. Established during the medieval period, Nether Hall contained two manor houses built in the mid-15th century and occupied by the Colte family. Thomas More married one of the Colte daughters and visited Nether Hall during their courtship. Although the central part of the manor, including one of the houses, was demolished in the 1770s, it is a scheduled monument and the ruined gatehouse is a Grade I listed building with Historic England. Several outer farm buildings, including the other manor house, are still standing and are also listed buildings.

The River Stort is a river in Essex and Hertfordshire, England. It is 24 miles (38 km) long and flows from just south of the village of Langley to the River Lea at Hoddesdon. The river's name is a back-formation from the name of the town of Bishop's Stortford. The 16th-century cartographers Christopher Saxton and William Camden named it the Stort, assuming the town of Stortford was named for its ford. The river was originally called the Stour.The Stort Navigation is the canalised section of the River Stort running 22 kilometres (14 mi) from Bishop's Stortford to its confluence with the Lee Navigation. It has 15 locks.

The Catuvellauni (Common Brittonic: *Catu-wellaunī, "war-chiefs") were a Celtic tribe or state of southeastern Britain before the Roman conquest, attested by inscriptions into the 4th century. The fortunes of the Catuvellauni and their kings before the conquest can be traced through ancient coins and scattered references in classical histories. They are mentioned by Cassius Dio, who implies that they led the resistance against the conquest in AD 43. They appear as one of the civitates of Roman Britain in Ptolemy's Geography in the 2nd century, occupying the town of Verlamion (modern St Albans) and the surrounding areas of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and southern Cambridgeshire. Their territory was bordered to the north by the Iceni and Corieltauvi, to the east by the Trinovantes, to the west by the Dobunni and Atrebates, and to the south by the Regni and Cantiaci.

Feildes Weir is a weir on the River Lea located in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire at the confluence of the River Lea and River Stort. The weir marks the start of the Lower Lee. A channel of the man-made River Lee Flood Relief Channel is incorporated into the weir.

Roydon Hamlet is a hamlet in the Epping Forest district in the English county of Essex. Nearby settlements include the large town of Harlow and the village of Roydon, some three miles away.
