Ashby Gap

Paris Historic District is a national historic district located at Paris, Fauquier County, Virginia. It encompasses 53 contributing resources in the rural village of Paris. The district includes primarily residences, although the district also includes some commercial buildings, churches, a former school, and a cemetery. Fifty-two of the 53 contributing resources are already listed as part of the Crooked Run Valley Rural Historic District. Notable buildings include "Wagoner's Stand" (c. 1820), the Josiah Murray House (c. 1820), the William Peck House, Old Paris Meeting House (c. 1830), the Willis-Carr House (c. 1840), the former Rogers Store (c. 1850), and Trinity United Methodist Church (1892). It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Paris is an unincorporated hamlet in Fauquier County, Virginia, United States. Located in Virginia's hunt country, it was established in a strategic spot at the eastern base of Ashby Gap along U.S. Route 17 and U.S. Route 50.

Belle Grove is a historic home and farm located near Delaplane, Fauquier County, Virginia. The manor house was built about 1812, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay, brick and stuccoed stone house in the Federal style. It has a 1+1⁄2-story, three-bay summer kitchen, built about 1850, and connected to the main house by a hyphen. Also on the property are the contributing meat house (c. 1812); the barn (c. 1830); a chicken house (c. 1900); a cattle shed (c. 1940); a loafing shed (c. 1940); machine shed (c. 1940); a four-foot square, stone foundation (c. 1812); stone spring house ruin (c. 1812); the Edmonds-Settle-Chappelear Cemetery (1826-1940); an eight-by-twelve-foot stone foundation (c. 1900); a tenant house ruin (c. 1900); a stone well at the manor house (c. 1812); and a loading chute (c. 1940).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Paris Mountain is a peak of Blue Ridge Mountain on the border of Loudoun County and Clarke County in Virginia. The 1,926 feet (587 m) peak, which is located just north of Ashby's Gap and the town of Paris, for which it is named, represents the highest elevation in both counties. The peak is accessible by Blue Ridge Mountain Road from the gap. The Appalachian Trail crosses the western slope of the peak.

Berrys is an unincorporated community on the Shenandoah River in Clarke County, Virginia. Berrys was originally known as Berry's Ferry for the ferry operated there. Today, Harry Flood Byrd Bridge spans the Shenandoah at Berrys carrying U.S. Route 50 and U.S. Route 17.

River House, also known as The Ferry Farm, is a historic plantation house located near Millwood, Clarke County, Virginia. It was built about 1820, and is a two-story, five-bay, rubble limestone dwelling in a vernacular Federal-style. It has a gable roof with wide interior-end chimneys. Also on the property is a rare three-part slave or servants' house and an early smokehouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. It is located in the Greenway Historic District.

Crooked Run Valley Rural Historic District is a national historic district located near Paris, Fauquier County, Virginia. The district encompasses 386 contributing buildings, 27 contributing sites, and 21 contributing structures. It includes the separately listed Delaplane Historic District and Paris Historic District.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Cromwell's Run Rural Historic District is a national historic district located near Rectortown, Fauquier County, Virginia. The district encompasses 384 contributing buildings, 20 contributing sites, and 36 contributing structures. It includes the separately listed Atoka Historic District and Rectortown Historic District.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, with a boundary increase the same year.

Frogtown is an unincorporated community on Morgan Mill Stream in Clarke County, Virginia. Frogtown is located on Frogtown Road (VA 649).

Upperville United Methodist Church is a historic church in Upperville, Virginia, United States, on Delaplane Grade Road, just off U.S. Route 50. The single-room church is a brick structure built in 1833, with 15-foot-high windows on its side. During the Civil War, it was used as a hospital, as were many other local churches. Originally, the church had a slave balcony wrapping around its whole length, but the balcony was destroyed during the war to use for firewood, and was later partially rebuilt. The cornerstone near the top of the building reads "METHODIST E. CHURCH. DEDICATED NOVEMBER 3, 1833." The church is part of the Upperville Historic District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Upperville is an unincorporated village in Fauquier County, Virginia, United States, along U.S. Route 50 fifty miles from downtown Washington, D.C., near the Loudoun County line. Founded in the 1790s along Pantherskin Creek, it was originally named Carrstown by first settler Josephus Carr. Through an 1819 Act passed by the Virginia General Assembly, the name was changed to Upperville. John Updike wrote of Upperville in his sardonic 1961 poem Upon Learning That a Town Exists Called Upperville.

The district includes residential, commercial, and institutional buildings that mostly date to the first half of the 19th century. Notable buildings include the Joseph Carr houses (1796, 1810), the Doctor Smith House (1830s), the United Methodist Church (1833), the Upperville library (1826), the Upperville Primitive Baptist Church (1840) and the Baptist Church (1889).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
