The Burloak Canoe Club is a flatwater canoe/kayak racing club located in Oakville, Ontario. It serves the communities of Burlington and Oakville and provides a variety of canoe-based activities for local residents focusing primarily on the two disciplines of sprint canoe and sprint kayak. Burloak Canoe Club is located on Navy Flats along the banks of Sixteen Mile Creek and boasts a sizable building that caters not only to sport but to special events as well.

Sixteen Mile Creek is a river in Halton Region in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. It is in the Great Lakes Basin, and flows from the Niagara Escarpment through the towns of Milton and Oakville to Lake Ontario.The creek is named for the distance from the river's mouth to the western end of Lake Ontario. It was previously known to the Mississauga Indians in their language as Ne-sauga y-onk or niizhozaagiwan ("having two outlets") and to the French as Rivière de Gravois ("gravelly river").Like many creeks draining into Lake Ontario, Sixteen Mile Creek has cut a deep valley that is home to a broad range of wildlife, including whitetail deer, raccoons, foxes, opossum, and squirrels. The forest contains tree species typical of the Carolinian forest habitat, although since this is close to the northern limit of this zone, some are poorly represented. The total area of the drainage basin is 372 square kilometres (144 sq mi).In Oakville, it also forms part of Glen Abbey Golf Course and is home to the Oakville Yacht Squadron.

Today, Appleby is a co-educational day and boarding university-preparatory school, with a curriculum based around the liberal arts. Oakville Place Shopping Centre is an indoor shopping mall in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Opened in 1981, the mall is the only major indoor mall in the Town of Oakville. The mall is approximately 42,000 square metres (452,000 sq ft). It is managed by RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust. A centerpiece of the mall was once a monumental clock, 12 ft (3.7 m) tall and weighing 6,000 lb (2,700 kg), that chimes every quarter-hour. It was installed in 1981 and designed by Soheil Mosun Limited of Toronto. The clock was removed in 2016 following a change in ownership. Oakville Place was described by the American Automobile Association as "Oakville's leading shopping mall".The mall is located at the intersection of Queen Elizabeth Way and Trafalgar Road. The north campus used to be attended by students who had different levels and types of capabilities than those of the south campus. The school now acts as a whole, and students can take classes at North or South campus. The north campus offers hands-on technical programs such as hairdressing, child care, autobody and carpentry, as well as classes for students with a wide range of disabilities, and English Language Learner programs (ELL), and is the location for recognized Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Programs (OYAP) and the Ford Academy of Manufacturing Sciences (FAMS). White Oaks also offers French at the immersion level, as well as the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme.
