Greenville Commercial Historic District (Greenville, North Carolina)

The United States Post Office, also known as the Federal Building, is a historic post office building located at Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina. It was designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect under the direction of Oscar Wenderoth and built in 1913–1914. It is a two-story, five-bay, Florintine Renaissance style stuccoed brick building on a limestone base. It has a low hip roof of terra cotta tile with overhanging eaves. The front facade features a three-bay loggia formed by arches with voluted keystones, springing from Tuscan order columns. This building served as the main post office for Greenville until 1969. It currently serves as a U.S. Courthouse.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is located in the Greenville Commercial Historic District.

It was built in 1895, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, "T"-plan, frame dwelling with Queen Anne and Colonial Revival style design elements. It has a one-story rear kitchen ell and a wraparound porch with Ionic order columns.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

Pitt County Courthouse is a historic courthouse building located at Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina. It was designed and built in 1910 by the architectural firm of Milburn, Heister & Company, and is a three-story, rectangular, Classical Revival style tan brick building. The front facade features a tetrastyle Ionic order portico, a hipped roof, and dominating three-stage cupola.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It is located in the Greenville Commercial Historic District.

The James L. Fleming House, also known as the Fleming-Winstead House, is a historic home located at 302 S. Greene St. in Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina. It was built in 1901–1902, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, frame Queen Anne style dwelling, with design credited to Barber & Klutz who published architectural pattern books. It has a central hall, double pile plan and a one-story rear ell and two-story rear addition. It features a three-stage polygonal tower, slate covered hipped roof, and two-story polygonal bays.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.James Leonidas Fleming (1867-1909), who established East Carolina University in Greenville, built the home for his wife, Lula White, and his family. Fleming was elected to the state senate and began efforts to establish the East Carolina Teacher's Training School, and getting it situated in Greenville. He was later killed in an automobile accident along the Greenville and Raleigh Plank Road in 1909.

It was built in 1895, and is a two-story, "L"-plan, frame dwelling with Queen Anne style decorative elements. It has an intersecting gable roof and one-story, gable roofed porch. It features decorative shingles, curvilinear sawnwork, and applied half-timbering.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

East Carolina University (ECU) is a public research university in Greenville, North Carolina. It is the fourth largest university in North Carolina. Founded on March 8, 1907, as a teacher training school, East Carolina has grown from its original 43 acres (17 ha) to almost 1,600 acres (647 ha) today. The university's academic facilities are located on six properties: Main Campus, Health Sciences Campus, West Research Campus, the Field Station for Coastal Studies in New Holland, North Carolina, the Millennial Research Innovation Campus in Greenville's warehouse district and an overseas campus in Certaldo Alto, Italy. ECU also operates the Coastal Studies Institute.The university has nine undergraduate colleges, graduate school, and four professional schools. All of the non-health sciences majors are located on the main campus. The College of Nursing, College of Allied Health Sciences, The Brody School of Medicine, and School of Dental Medicine are located on the health science campus. ECU is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity".There are eleven social sororities, 16 social fraternities, four historically black sororities, five historically black fraternities, one Native American fraternity, and one Native American sorority. Greenville Tobacco Warehouse Historic District is a national historic district located at Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina. The district encompasses seven contributing buildings and one contributing structures in an industrial section of Greenville. It includes buildings dated from about 1905 to 1947 and notable examples of Art Deco and Italianate style industrial architecture. Contributing resources are the American Tobacco Company Storage Warehouse #2. (c. 1905); the Prichard-Hughes Warehouse (c. 1905, with c. 1923 addition); the Dail-Ficklen Warehouse (c. 1911, with c. 1923, 1947, and 1963 additions); the Export Leaf Factory (1914, with 1928, 1932, and 1938 additions); the E. B. Ficklen Factory (c. 1916, with additions c. 1923, c. 1925, c. 1945, and c. 1950); the Gorman Warehouse (1927); the Star Warehouse (1930); and the System of CSX Railroad Tracks.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997, with a boundary increase in 1999.

E. B. Ficklen House, also known as Buckingham, is a historic home located at Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina. It was built in 1902, and is a two-story, Queen Anne style frame dwelling with an exaggerated hip roof. It features a circular corner tower capped by a conical roof, projecting gable, and complicated porch configuration including a first floor wraparound porch with three Ionic order columns.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is located in the Skinnerville-Greenville Heights Historic District.

The Roxy Theatre is a theater building built in Greenville, North Carolina, in 1938. It served African American audiences and succeeded the Plaza Theatre in the area known as The Block. Both theaters were owned by John W. Warner, a theater owner and filmmaker. He made the local film Pitch a Boogie Woogie with his brother from New York City. The theater closed in 1972 and became a community arts center. The art deco theater is at 629 Albemarle Avenue. In 1979 the songwriter William Myles Nobles bought it. Cinema Treasures has an entry and photograph of it. East Carolina University has a 2012 photograph of the theater. .The theater building is now home to the Greenville Theater Arts Center (GTAC). In 2021, GTAC hosted a Juneteenth celebration at the theater.

Dickinson Avenue Historic District is a national historic district located at Greenville, Pitt County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 35 contributing buildings and 3 contributing structures in a mixed commercial and industrial section of Greenville. It includes buildings dated from about 1902 to 1956 and notable examples of Classical Revival and Commercial architecture. Notable buildings include the Brown Building (c. 1916), Hines Building (c. 1916), First Christian Church (1916), Roxy Theater (1948), and the Imperial Tobacco Company factory (1902-1964).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.
