It was named in 1867, when a storeowner at Thompson's General Store near the Uniontown section of Hollywood required a name for the post office inside the store. The storeowner was inspired by the gigantic holly tree planted in front of the store and named the post office Hollywood.

Loveville is an unincorporated community in St. Mary's County, Maryland, United States, named for A. Kingsley Love, an attorney. It is known for its Old Order Mennonite community, who have a farmers' market/produce auction here, as well as craft shops and an annual quilt auction. Abell House is a historic home located at Leonardtown, St. Mary's County, Maryland, United States. It was constructed about 1910 and is a two-story, three bay frame dwelling. The house commands sweeping views of Breton Bay, a sheltered harbor of the Potomac River. It exhibits a vernacular interpretation of the Queen Anne. It was built by Enoch B. Abell, a significant local political leader, attorney, and entrepreneur, who resided there until his death in December 1924.Abell House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Tudor Hall is a historic home located at Leonardtown, St. Mary's County, Maryland. It is a large, rectangular, 2+1⁄2-story, Georgian brick building built about 1798. It is one of the oldest buildings in Leonardtown, which was created by the Maryland Legislature in 1720. It is home to the St. Mary's County Historical Society. Morganza is an unincorporated community in St. Mary's County, Maryland, United States.Today, it is home to a few homes and St. Joseph's Catholic Church, which has been in the area since 1759. The current church on Route 5 along a curve at the top of the hill was built in 1860 and the Morganza Post Office was established there in 1867, named after the Morgan family. Chopticon also offers the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts (AVPA) and the Academy of Finance (AOF).
