St Gregory's by St Paul's was a parish church in the Castle Baynard ward of the City of London, built against the south-west tower of St Paul's Cathedral. It was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666 and not replaced.

St Faith under St Paul's in Castle Baynard Ward was an unusual parish within the City of London. It originally had its own building to the east of St Paul's Cathedral, serving as a parish church for the residents of St Paul's Churchyard and Paternoster Row, but this was removed in 1256 to allow for the eastern expansion of the Cathedral. The parishioners were instead given a space to worship within the cathedral crypt.The parish appears as "St Faith within the monastery of St Paul's, London" in 1381, with mention of John Phelip, as a former parson. Until the reign of Edward VI the parishioners worshipped at the end of the west crypt under St Paul’s Quire. Sir Simonds D'Ewes, the diarist, attended the wedding of his father Paul and his stepmother, Lady Elizabeth Denton, in "St. Faith's under St. Paul's" on 5 March 1623, and Sir Simonds's younger sister Mary also married there on 4 December 1626 From the reign of Edward VI until the Great Fire the parishioners, mostly booksellers in Paternoster Row, transferred to the Jesus Chapel, their separateness emphasised by a screen.After the destruction of the cathedral by the Great Fire in 1666, the parish was united with that of St Augustine Watling Street.

Richard Carr, (1651 – 1706) was an English physician. He proceeded MA at Magdalene College, Cambridge in 1674; was master of Saffron Walden grammar school from 1676–83; studied medicine at Leyden from 1683–6; proceeded MD at Cambridge in 1686; and practised medicine in London. He published medical essays.

Cordwainers' Hall was the livery hall of the Worshipful Company of Cordwainers, the City of London livery company for Cordwainers (workers in fine leather) from 1316 until its destruction in 1941.The hall stood in St. Paul's Churchyard, facing Cannon Street. Five successive halls were built on the site, the last three were rebuilt in 1670, 1788, and 1910. A plaque marks the site. The 1788 hall was built by Sylvanus Hall, with the front of the hall decorated in stone by Robert Adam. The front of the hall featured a stone medallion of a "country girl spinning with a distaff...and of the thread of cordwainers or shoemakers." The arms of the Cordwainers company was in the pediments of the building.The hall was destroyed during World War II in the London blitz, on 10–11 May 1941.

St Nicholas Cole Abbey is a church in the City of London located on what is now Queen Victoria Street. Recorded from the twelfth century, the church was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666 and rebuilt by the office of Sir Christopher Wren. The church suffered substantial bomb damage from German bombs during the London Blitz in the Second World War and was reconstructed by Arthur Bailey in 1961–2.

Friday Street is a small street in the City of London. The street is reported to have been named either after a fish market held on Fridays (which was traditionally a day of abstinence from meat), or a corruption of the Old English word Frigdaeges. It originally ran between Cheapside and Old Fish Street and was one of the principal thoroughfares of the Bread Street Ward in Mediaeval London. It was partially cleared to construct Queen Victoria Street, and following damage in World War II, only the section between Queen Victoria Street and Cannon Street remains.The street once had three churches: St Margaret Moses, St John the Evangelist and St Matthew. All three were destroyed in the Great Fire of London. St Matthew was rebuilt following the fire, but subsequently demolished.Bracken House sits at the corner of Friday Street and Cannon Street. It was designed by Albert Richardson as the main office and print works of the Financial Times.

Old Change was a street in the City of London, connecting Cheapside to Knightrider Street.The street was originally known as Old Exchange. It was named after a building constructed in the 13th century for coining bullions, which is commemorated by a plaque in the gardens by St Paul's Cathedral. Edward Herbert, 1st Baron Herbert of Cherbury had a house with gardens adjacent to the street. The Church of St Augustine was on the corner of Old Change. It was rebuilt in the late 17th century by Christopher Wren following the Great Fire of London.During the early 18th century, Old Change was inhabited by Armenian merchants who set up numerous silk and woollen warehouses.Old Change was destroyed during World War II. A replacement street, New Change was built slightly to the east of this following the war. The church tower was restored and is now Grade I listed.

St. Mary Magdalen Old Fish Street was a church in Castle Baynard ward of the City of London, England, located on the corner of Old Fish Street and Old Change, on land now covered by post-War development. Recorded since the 12th century, the church was destroyed in the Great Fire of London of 1666, then rebuilt by the office of Sir Christopher Wren. The rebuilt church suffered damage to its roof from a fire in an adjacent warehouse in 1886. It was not repaired, and was finally demolished in 1893.

The Mermaid Tavern was a tavern on Cheapside in London during the Elizabethan era, located east of St. Paul's Cathedral on the corner of Friday Street and Bread Street. It was the site of the so-called "Fraternity of Sireniacal Gentlemen", a drinking club that met on the first Friday of every month that included some of the Elizabethan era's leading literary figures, among them Ben Jonson, John Donne, John Fletcher and Francis Beaumont, Thomas Coryat, John Selden, Robert Bruce Cotton, Richard Carew, Richard Martin, and William Strachey. A popular tradition has grown up that the group included William Shakespeare, although most scholars think that was improbable.
