The West Amwell Township School District was a community public school district that served students in pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade from West Amwell Township, in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The district's school is now part of the South Hunterdon Regional School District, which also includes Lambertville and Stockton. In a special election held in September 2013, voters from Lambertville, Stockton and West Amwell Township passed referendums to dissolve the South Hunterdon Regional High School District and to combine the three existing K-6 school districts from each municipality (Lambertville City School District, Stockton Borough School District and West Amwell Township School District), with majorities in each community passing both ballot items. A single combined regional district would be created, serving students in pre-Kindergarten through twelfth grade, in which property taxes would be levied under a formula in which 57% is based on property values and 43% on the number of students. The executive county superintendent will appoint an interim board of education for the new regional district, which will be responsible for implementing the merger.As of the 2011-12 school year, the district's one school had an enrollment of 244 students and 23.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.34:1.The district was classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth-highest of eight groupings. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1977.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 409 students and 49.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 8.2:1. There were 55 students (13.4% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 11 (2.7% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.South Hunterdon Regional High School's small size and broad extracurricular offerings provides the opportunity for students from outside the district to attend by paying tuition, as some consider the small class sizes and environment to be similar to that of a private school.

Bowne is an unincorporated community located at the intersection of the boundaries of Delaware, East Amwell and West Amwell townships in Hunterdon County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.The area is named for Dr. John Bowne, a physician who owned a nearby farm. In the 1870s, the Flemington Railroad & Transportation Company constructed a railroad through the area connecting Lambertville and Flemington with a station (originally named Barber Station, renamed to Bowne Station) at the settlement. This railroad became part of the Belvidere Delaware Railroad and the Pennsylvania Railroad in later years. The railroad's current owner, Black River and Western Railroad, started running passenger trains down to Woodsedge Farm in May 2017. Similar in character to the townships in which the settlement is located, Bowne is surrounded by a mix of farmland, forest, and some single family houses along the main roads through the area, Bowne Station Road and Garboski Road.

West Amwell Township is a township in Hunterdon County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 3,005, a decrease of 835 (−21.7%) from the 2010 census count of 3,840, which in turn reflected an increase of 1,457 (+61.1%) from the 2,383 counted in the 2000 census.West Amwell was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 6, 1846, when Amwell Township was split, also creating East Amwell Township at the same time. Portions of the township were taken to form Lambertville town on March 1, 1849. In 1896, the township annexed portions of Delaware Township, East Amwell Township and Raritan Township. The township was named for Amwell Township, which in turn was named for Great Amwell/Little Amwell, Hertfordshire in England.

Lambertville High School, built in 1854 in Lambertville, New Jersey, US, was the former school of the Lambertville school district. A fire destroyed much of the school in 1926, but it was remodeled and rebuilt in 1927 and used until June 1960. It sat (as some from the town have stated) like a museum from then on, on top of the hill overlooking Lambertville and the Delaware River. The school was closed after the 1960 class graduated as it was too small and outdated for the growing area. Many small-town high schools were closed in the 1950s and 1960s across New Jersey, as the state consolidated school districts and replaced obsolete schools like Lambertville High with modern, suburban facilities that could serve larger regional areas. South Hunterdon Regional High School was scheduled to replace Lambertville High and to open for classes in September 1959, but construction was unexpectedly delayed, and so the switchover did not take place until September 1960, with Lambertville High continuing to serve local students during that year. The old "school on the hill" was then used as a place to sell electronics for many years, until it eventually sat empty and abandoned, though structurally intact, until vandals set a fire in 1992 which destroyed most of the building's interior and essentially gutted most of the structure, including the roof. The school was demolished in fall 2012.

Lambertville is a city within Hunterdon County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the city's population was 4,139, an increase of 233 (+6.0%) from the 3,906 recorded at the 2010 census, which in turn had reflected an increase of 38 (1.0%) from the 3,868 counted at the 2000 census.Lambertville is situated on the banks of the Delaware River in southwestern Hunterdon County, directly across the river from New Hope, Pennsylvania. In the 18th century, the area was named after various operators of ferries across the river to Pennsylvania, ultimately becoming known as Coryell's Ferry, after its owner, Emanuel Coryell. Coryell's Ferry was the western terminus of the New Jersey portion of York Road, which became U.S. Route 202, connecting New York City and Philadelphia. The community was named Lambertville in 1810, when the post office was established, in honor of John Lambert, a resident who had served as United States senator and acting governor of New Jersey, and who was responsible for the opening of the post office. In June 2022, The New York Times described Lambertville as a gay-friendly travel destination with a quieter vibe than New York's Fire Island.

Headquarters is an unincorporated community located within the Amwell Valley of Delaware Township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The settlement is centered around the intersection of Zentek Road and County Route 604 (Rosemont-Ringoes Road). It is about 3 miles (4.8 km) from Ringoes to the east and 1 mile (1.6 km) from Sergeantsville to the west. The Headquarters Historic District was listed on the state and national registers of historic places in 2011 and had its boundary increased in 2016.

The Kalmia Club is a women's club established in 1892 in the city of Lambertville in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. It has used the house at 39 York Street as its clubhouse since 1893. The Italianate wood-frame house was built around 1870 and expanded in 1882. It was listed as a contributing property of the Lambertville Historic District on June 30, 1983. It was later added individually to the National Register of Historic Places on April 16, 2012, for its significance in education, entertainment, and social history. The Kalmia Club was listed as part of the Clubhouses of New Jersey Women's Clubs Multiple Property Submission (MPS).

The Lambertville Historic District is a 198-acre (80 ha) historic district encompassing the community centered around the intersection of Route 29 and Route 179 in the city of Lambertville in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 30, 1983, for its significance in architecture, commerce, industry, and settlement. It includes 680 contributing buildings, and two contributing structures.

The James W. Marshall House, located at 60 Bridge Street in the city of Lambertville in Hunterdon County, United States, was the boyhood home of James W. Marshall. Marshall's discovery of gold in the American River in California in January 1848 set the stage for the California Gold Rush. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 18, 1970, for its significance in architecture and history. It now serves as the headquarters for the Lambertville Historical Society, and is open to the public as an historic house museum.
