Valencia High School is a public secondary school located in the neighborhood of Valencia in the city of Santa Clarita, California, United States. It is a part of the William S. Hart Union High School District. Valencia High School is ranked in Newsweek's 2012 list of America's Best High Schools. The list is based on six components provided by school administrators: graduation rate (25 percent), college matriculation rate (25 percent), AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student (25 percent), average SAT/ACT scores (10 percent), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10 percent), and AP courses offered per student (5 percent).

San Francisquito Creek, in Los Angeles County, is a tributary stream of the Santa Clara River. It drains the south facing slopes of the Sierra Pelona Mountains of the San Gabriel Mountains within the Transverse Range of California, United States. The closest populated place to the creek is Green Valley that lies along the upper course of the creek, in the upper part of San Francisquito Canyon, southeast of the source of the Creek at San Francisquito Pass. At its mouth and confluence with the Santa Clara River is Santa Clarita.

Trinity Classical Academy is a classical Christian school in Valencia, Santa Clarita, California. It was founded in 2001 and offers education for K-12. It is committed to teaching a Christian worldview in all subject areas, and upholds biblical inerrancy in its statement of faith.Trinity Classical Academy is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and is a member of the Association of Classical and Christian Schools. It claims to be the "fastest growing classical, Christian school" in the United States.The Trinity Knights compete in the Heritage League of the CIF-SS. The girls' basketball team won the 5-A state championship in 2021. Former San Francisco Giants catcher Trevor Brown is coach of the baseball team.In 2021 and 2022 Trinity was fined by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health for not following COVID-19 regulations: once for allowing maskless students to engage in outdoor activities without adequate physical distancing, and three times for refusing access to a health inspector.

The Rye Fire was a wildfire that burned in Santa Clarita, California, in the United States, and one of multiple wildfires that broke out across Southern California in December 2017. The fire threatened over 5,000 structures, including Six Flags Magic Mountain, threatened the city of Santa Clarita and impacted traffic on Interstate 5. The Rye Fire burned a total of 6,049 acres (24.48 km2), before it was fully contained on December 12. The fire destroyed six buildings, including minor structures located at the Peter J. Pitchess Detention Center.

The Honor Rancho Oil Field (also Honor Rancho Natural Gas Storage Field, Honor Rancho Underground Storage Facility) is an approximately 600-acre oil field and natural gas storage facility in Los Angeles County, California, on the northern border of the Valencia neighborhood of Santa Clarita, near the junction of Interstate 5 and westbound California State Route 126. Discovered in 1950 and quickly developed, the field's oil production peaked in the 1950s, but remains productive in 2016. In 1975 Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), the gas utility serving Southern California, began using one of its depleted oil producing zones, the Wayside 13 zone, as a gas storage reservoir, and it became the second-largest in their inventory after the Aliso Canyon gas storage facility. The field shares part of its extent with the Peter J. Pitchess Detention Center, which includes a maximum-security prison. The only operators on the field as of 2016 were SoCalGas and Vintage Production California, LLC, a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum. The field produced approximately 50,000 barrels of oil in 2014, and the capacity of the gas storage reservoir is about 26 billion cubic feet of natural gas. Forty gas injection wells tap into the reservoir.

The Newhall incident, also called the Newhall massacre, was a shootout on April 5–6, 1970, in Valencia, California, between two heavily armed criminals and four officers of the California Highway Patrol (CHP). In less than five minutes, the four CHP officers were killed in the deadliest day in California law enforcement history.At about 11:54 p.m. on April 5, CHP officers Walt Frago and Roger Gore conducted a traffic stop of Bobby Davis and Jack Twinning in conjunction with an incident reported to the CHP minutes earlier. Twinning and Davis initially cooperated with the officers but then opened fire, killing both of them. Moments later, officers George Alleyn and James Pence arrived on the scene and engaged Twinning and Davis in a shoot out. A bystander tried to help by firing an officer's weapon, but the three were out-gunned. Both Alleyn and Pence suffered fatal injuries, while the witness ran out of ammunition and took cover in a ditch. A third CHP patrol car arrived on scene, and the officers briefly exchanged gunfire with the perpetrators, who then fled. Davis stole a car and attempted to flee the area, but he was spotted by police and arrested. Meanwhile, Twinning broke into a house, taking an occupant hostage. It was surrounded by deputies of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and Twinning released the hostage. He committed suicide around 9 a.m. as the deputies entered the house. Davis was convicted and sentenced to death for the murders. His sentence was commuted to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole in 1972; he killed himself at Kern Valley State Prison in 2009. The Newhall incident resulted in a number of changes at the CHP, including procedural changes for arresting high-risk suspects, standardization of firearms, and firearms training used throughout the department.

Valencia Country Club is an 18-hole golf course in the Valencia neighborhood in Santa Clarita, California. The course is a Robert Trent Jones design and was established in 1965.In 1998, the course hosted the Los Angeles Open. Major champion and golf course architect Fuzzy Zoeller said, "Honest to God, from tee to green, this course is great". The course took over duties as the host in 1998 as permanent host Riviera Country Club was the venue for the 1998 United States Senior Open.Valencia Country Club also hosted the Champions Tour event the AT&T Champions Classic from 2001-2009.

The AT&T Champions Classic was a professional golf tournament on the Champions Tour in southern California from 1990 to 2009. A mid-autumn event through 2000, it was moved to late winter in 2001. AT&T was the main sponsor of the tournament for its final editions, held at Valencia Country Club in Santa Clarita, California. The tournament was founded in November 1990 as the "Security Pacific Senior Classic" at Rancho Park Golf Club, a municipal course in the city of Los Angeles, where it was played through 1994. Rancho Park hosted the Los Angeles Open on the PGA Tour from 1956 through 1972 (except 1968). The purse for the inaugural event was $500,000 with a winner's share of $75,000. From 1995 through 2000, it was played at Wilshire Country Club, then moved north to Valencia in March 2001. The purse in 2009 was $1.6 million, with a winner's share of $240,000 to playoff winner Dan Forsman, his first victory on the senior tour.

Valencia is a neighborhood in Santa Clarita located within Los Angeles County, California. It is one of the four unincorporated communities (along with Saugus, Newhall, and Canyon Country) that merged to create the city of Santa Clarita in 1987. It is situated in the western part of Santa Clarita, stretching from Lyons Avenue to the south (on the border with Newhall) to north of Copper Hill Drive, and from Interstate 5 east to Bouquet Canyon and Seco Canyon Roads. Valencia was founded as a master-planned community with the first development, Old Orchard I, built on Lyons Avenue behind Old Orchard Elementary School.

Hyatt Regency Valencia is a hotel and convention center in the community of Valencia in the city of Santa Clarita, California, United States. It is located at the southwest corner of McBean Parkway and Town Center Drive, across McBean Parkway from the Westfield Valencia Town Center. With a height of 73 feet (22 m), it is tied with the nearby Princess Cruises headquarters as the tallest building in Santa Clarita. It is adjacent to the Santa Clarita Conference Center and the Valencia Country Club. In 2018, the Vines restaurant and bar was converted into Greater Pacific, a high-end sushi restaurant.

McBean Regional Transit Center, also known by its acronym MRTC, is a transit center and bus station located at 24375 Valencia Boulevard in the Valencia area of Santa Clarita, California, near the intersection of Valencia Boulevard and McBean Parkway. It is located next to the Westfield Valencia Town Center.

Road Runner Express is a steel junior roller coaster at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California. On November 4, 2010, Six Flags had an investor meeting webcast where they released the new name for the kid's coaster and location in Bugs Bunny World. By April 2011, the entire coaster has finished construction on site. The ride opened on May 28, 2011, for Memorial Day Weekend.
