Riverside, is a neighborhood in South Memphis. The neighborhood includes Kansas Street, Carver High (which is on Pennsylvania Street) and Martin Luther King Riverside Park.

George Washington Carver High School was a public high school in Memphis, Tennessee from the late 1950s until 2016. Prior to integration, it was a school for black students. It was at times a part of Memphis City Schools, and at the end it was a part of Shelby County Schools (SCS), as that district took over the former Memphis school campuses in 2013.It was also known as Carver Middle/High School.

The Metal Museum, formerly called the National Ornamental Metal Museum, is a museum in Memphis, Tennessee. Founded by artist-blacksmith James Wallace, the museum is devoted to exhibitions of metalwork and public programs featuring metalsmiths.

KWNW (101.9 FM) - branded as "Rock 102" - is a radio station broadcasting a classic rock format serving the Memphis, Tennessee, area. The station is currently owned by iHeartMedia and is licensed to Crawfordsville, Arkansas. The station's studios are located in Southeast Memphis, and the transmitter is located off Bridgeport Road in West Memphis, Arkansas, near Harahan Bridge and the Arkansas-Tennessee border.

The Memphis & Arkansas Bridge, also known as the Memphis–Arkansas Bridge or inaccurately as the Memphis–Arkansas Memorial Bridge, is a cantilevered through truss bridge carrying Interstate 55 across the Mississippi River between West Memphis, Arkansas and Memphis, Tennessee. Memphians refer to this bridge as the "Old Bridge" to distinguish it from the "New Bridge", or Hernando de Soto Bridge, upstream. The Memphis & Arkansas Bridge also carries U.S. Route 61 (US 61), US 64, US 70 and US 79 from Memphis to West Memphis; it also carried US 63 prior to its truncation (and later rerouting) in Arkansas. The western terminus of Tennessee State Route 1 (SR 1) sits on the Tennessee–Arkansas boundary halfway across the bridge.

President's Island is a peninsula on the Mississippi River in southwest Memphis, Tennessee. The city's major river port and an industrial park are located there.

The Church of the River, located in Memphis, Tennessee, is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association, a liberal religious tradition.Contemporary Unitarian churches have no creeds to which members must agree. Each congregation has its own covenant, or statement of purpose, which describes the spirit of how members are united in religious community. The Church of the River covenant states: The purpose of this church shall be to promote the high ideals of a rational, progressive, and exalting religion, in the love of God and service to humanity, and to hold regular church services in this community. To this end, all activities of the church shall be conducted without distinction related to race, color, sexual orientation, gender identity or previous religious affiliations; and the right of private judgment and the sacredness of individual conviction shall be recognized in all things. South Bluffs is a gated neighborhood located south of Downtown Memphis, Tennessee. The bluff was previously occupied by a 25-acre (10 ha) railroad and switching yard, until 1989 when ground was broken on developing a residential neighborhood. The location of the neighborhood and the views of the Mississippi River have drawn Memphians, such as Pat Halloran and Henry Turley, to purchase homes within the neighborhood.

T.O. Fuller State Park is a state park in the city of Memphis, Tennessee, USA. It consists of 1,138 acres (461 ha) of mostly forest located in South Memphis on Mitchell Road. It is the only state park within the city limits and is suitable for wildlife. The park is named in honor of Dr. Thomas O. Fuller, who spent his life empowering and educating African Americans. The park facilities were originally built for the use of African Americans in the Great Depression by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). It was the first state park in the United States east of the Mississippi River that was open to African Americans.CCC camp number 1464-SP-10, which was composed of African Americans, initiated construction of the park facilities in 1938. During excavation for a proposed swimming pool in 1940, CCC workers unearthed evidence of a prehistoric village. The site has since been developed as Chucalissa Indian Village and includes a village, preserved archeological excavations and the C.H. Nash Museum at Chucalissa.

Mitchell High School, also known as Mitchell Road High School, is a public 9-12 school in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, located at 658 West Mitchell Road in South Memphis. The school is served by the Memphis-Shelby County Schools district. As of 2022 the high school's student body was 97 percent black and 1.4 percent hispanic.

The Tennessee Brewery building stands at the intersection of Butler and Tennessee streets in Memphis, Tennessee. It is directly on the bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. The building once housed the Tennessee Brewing Company, a leader in early brewery production.
