Baseball Heaven (BBH) is a 27-acre baseball complex in Yaphank, New York on Long Island. The complex is located close to Long Island MacArthur Airport. Baseball Heaven attracts talent from the New England and Mid-Atlantic states. The complex features four ninety foot base path artificial turf fields and three are seventy foot artificial turf fields. Approximately 750,000 people visit Baseball Heaven on an annual basis.

The Brookhaven Rail Terminal (BRT) is a truck-train trans-load facility in Yaphank in Brookhaven on Long Island, New York. The 28-acre (11 ha) initial site was built with $40 million in private funds and opened on September 27, 2011. It is projected to take 40,000 long haul trucks off Long Island roads and handle 1 million tons of freight a year by 2016. It includes 13,000 feet (4 km) of new track, with three tracks for construction material, such as asphalt and concrete, and six tracks for merchandise, such as flour and biodiesel.

Caithness Long Island Energy Center is a 350 MW natural gas fired power power plant in Yaphank, New York on Long Island operated by Caithness Energy. It began operation in 2009 as the first major baseload plant to be built on Long Island in over 30 years, and by 2020 produced the second most net energy generated among power plants on Long Island. A proposal to construct a new unit tripling the capacity of the facility received initial approvals in 2013, but did not proceed and was shelved in 2018.

Brookhaven, formally the Town of Brookhaven, is a large suburban town in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York. With a population of 488,497 as of 2022, it is the second most populous town in the United States and in New York (after Hempstead, in the adjacent Nassau County) and the third most populous community in the state.The first settlement in what is now Brookhaven was known as Setauket. Founded as a group of agricultural hamlets in the mid-17th century, Brookhaven first expanded as a major center of shipbuilding in the 19th century. Its proximity to New York City facilitated the establishment of resort communities, followed by a post-war population boom. In the 2020 census record, Brookhaven contained 485,773 people.The township is home to two renowned research centers, Stony Brook University and Brookhaven National Laboratory. The largest traditional downtowns are located in Port Jefferson, a regional transportation hub for the Bridgeport & Port Jefferson Ferry, and Patchogue. The area has long been serviced by the Long Island Rail Road.

Camp Siegfried, a summer camp which taught Nazi ideology, was located in Yaphank, New York, on Long Island. It was owned by the German American Bund, an American Nazi organization devoted to promoting a favorable view of Nazi Germany, and was operated by the German American Settlement League (GASL). Camp Siegfried was one of many such camps in the US in the 1930s, including Camp Hindenberg in Grafton, Wisconsin, Camp Nordland in Andover, New Jersey, Deutschhorst Country Club in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, and a camp in Windham, New York.

Suffolk County Almshouse Barn is a historic hay and livestock barn located at Yaphank in Suffolk County, New York. It was built in 1871 and the large multi-story barn has a broad gable roof and wood shingle sheathing. It is the only extant structure from the Suffolk County Almshouse.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
