Stege Church

Stege Pharmacy was founded in 1706 in Stege on the island of Møn, Denmark.

Stege Town Hall (Danish: Stege Rådhus), situated at the corner of Rådhusgade and Storegade, is the former town hall of Stege on Møn, now part of Vordingborg Municipality, in southeastern Denmark. The Renaissance Revival style building was completed in 1854 to designs by Gottlieb Bindesbøll and served its original purpose for just over one hundred years. It was subsequently used as police station from 1968 to 2008. The building was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1979.

Stege is the largest town on the island of Møn in south-eastern Denmark. In January 2025, its population was 3,765. Stege is now part of Vordingborg Municipality and belongs to Region Zealand. Once a prosperous herring fishing port, tourism is now important to the local economy.

Mølleporten (lit. "The Mill Gate") is the former eastern town gate of Stege on Møn in southeastern Denmark. The building was listed on the Danish register of protected buildings and places in 1918. It is one of only two surviving Medieval town gates in Denmark, the other being Vesterport (Western Gate) in Faaborg. The four-storey gatehouse is located just inside Stege Town Rampart (Danish: Stege Byvold), a somewhat reduced earth rampart which runs from Stege Bay in the west to Stege Nor in the east. The building was restored with economic support from Realdania in 2019–2022. Its upper floor provides fine views of Stege's historic town centre.

Sukkerfabrikken Møn, formerly known as Stege Sugar Factory (Danish: Stege Sukkerfabrik), is a former sugar factory situated in Lendemarke, west of Stege on Møn, Denmark. Established by De danske Sukkerfabrikker in 1884, it was the first major industrial plant on the island and remained its largest employer until its closure in 1989. It is now operated as a local centre for business, culture and tourism.

Thorsvang, Danmarks Samlermuseum (Thorsvang: Denmark's Museum of Collectables) is located in the Lendemarke district of Stege on the Danish island of Møn. It displays a wide variety of old items collected over the years principally by Henrik Hjortkær. They are displayed in a former powdered milk factory from 1919 which has been fitted out to represent a series of small shops typical of the early 20th century.

Rødkilde Højskole is a folk high school just south of Stege on the Danish island of Møn. Founded in 1866, it is one of the older folk high schools in Denmark. Renamed Teaterhøjskolen Rødkilde (Theatre High School Rødkilde), it now offers both short (4 weeks) and longer (up to 22 weeks) courses for those wishing to learn more about the theatre, especially those aspiring to become actors. The main building by Ludvig Fenger, the student wing and the octagonal assembly building were listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places by the Danish Heritage Agency on 8 July 1982.

Nybøllegård is a 19th-century cottage situated southwest of Stege, on the island of Møn, in southeastern Denmark. It was designed by the architect Gottlieb Bindesbøll for Hother Hage in 1856. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1972.

Møn (Danish pronunciation: [ˈmøˀn]) is an island in south-eastern Denmark. Until 1 January 2007, it was a municipality in its own right but it is now part of the municipality of Vordingborg, after merging with the former municipalities of Langebæk, Præstø, and Vordingborg. This has created a municipality with an area of 615 km2 (237 sq mi) and a total population of 46,307 (2005). It belongs to the Region Sjælland ("Zealand Region"). Møn is one of Denmark's most popular destinations for tourists with its white chalk cliffs, countryside, sandy beaches and the market town of Stege. In June 2017, UNESCO designated Møn as Denmark's first biosphere reserve, consisting of "a series of islands and islets in the southern Baltic Sea, over approximately 45,118 hectares (111,490 acres). Its landscapes include woodlands, grasslands, meadows, wetlands, coastal areas, ponds and steep hills."

Ulvshale is a peninsula and small summer house locality in the north-western corner of the Danish island of Møn. Its long sandy beach and natural forest attract tourists, particularly in the summer months.

Keldby Church, famous for its frescoes, is located on the main road to Møns Klint in the village of Keldby, 4 km east of Stege on the Danish island of Møn. The imposing red brick church is one of the three Møn churches decorated with frescos by the Elmelunde Master, probably towards the end of the 15th century. In the Biblia pauperum style, they present many of the most popular stories from the Old and New Testaments. There are also a number of earlier frescoes in the church dating back to about 1275. The original nave and choir were constructed in the first half of the 13th century. Around 1480, the nave was expanded with cross vaults and the choir was heightened with limestone. The tower was added in the 16th century and a small sacristy was built about 1700. The richly carved altar triptych and the pulpit are probably from the late 15th century or early 16th century.

Lindholm is a small Danish uninhabited island located in Stege Bugt. Lindholm covers an area of 0.07 square kilometres (0.027 sq mi). Until 2018 the island housed a field station belonging to the veterinary institute of the Technical University of Denmark. Starting in 1938 a vaccine against foot-and-mouth disease was produced on the island. The Danish government considered but eventually shelved a plan to house, on the island, unsuccessful applicants for asylum with criminal records who could not otherwise be deported.
