Battelstein's is a commercial skyscraper located on Main Street in downtown Houston, Texas, United States. From 1924 until 1980, it housed an eponymous department store founded by Philip Battelstein. Originally only two floors, it was expanded to its present ten-story form between 1934 and 1950 by architects Joseph Finger and George Rustay. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 6, 2020.

Main Street Square is a station on the METRORail Red Line in Houston, Texas (USA). This originally was the 3rd station heading south along the rail line and is in the heart of downtown. There are many shopping areas and offices nearby. The station is located on Main Street in Downtown Houston and has two separate platforms. The northbound platform is located between the Walker and McKinney Streets, while the southbound platform is located between Lamar and Dallas Streets. These two platforms are divided by the Main Street Square fountain.

The Kirby Lofts is an 11-story building at 917 Main Street in Downtown Houston, Texas, currently consisting of apartments with retail on the ground floor, originally built in 1926 and designed by Alfred C. Finn, a noted Houston-based architect.

811 Main (formerly BG Group Place and MainPlace) is a 630 ft (192 m) tall skyscraper in Downtown Houston, Texas. It was completed in February 2011 and has 46 floors. It is LEED Platinum Certified. When it was completed, BG Group Place became the 15th tallest building in Houston and features a skygarden on the 39th floor. It is the tallest building built in Houston in 23 years, after the Heritage Plaza was completed in 1987. The naming was done when BG Group Plc became an anchor tenant and leased 164,000sq ft of space. The primary monument & all core signage for the facility was built by Ad Display Sign Systems. Current major tenants include: Crestwood Midstream Partners KPMG Baker Hostetler Latham & Watkins Quorum Citi Kayne Anderson Reed Smith

The Stowers Building is located at 820 Fannin Street in downtown Houston. The building was constructed in 1913 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The building is named for George Arthur Stowers and his furniture company, which had moved into the new "skyscraper" after a fire at his Main Street store. The local firm of Green & Finger designed the ten-story building which was constructed out of reinforced steel by Pearson & Co. The building was representative of a period of skyscraper construction in Houston between 1908 and 1913. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The City National Bank Building, located at 1001 McKinney Avenue in Houston, Texas, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 3, 2000.

The JPMorgan Chase Building, formerly the Gulf Building, is a 37-story 130 m (430 ft) Art Deco skyscraper in downtown Houston, Texas. Completed in 1929, it remained the tallest building in Houston until 1963, when the Exxon Building surpassed it in height. The building is the Houston headquarters of JPMorgan Chase Bank, and was formerly the headquarters of Texas Commerce Bank.

Central Station is a light rail station served by METRORail in downtown Houston, Texas, United States. It serves as a major transfer point between the Red, Purple and Green lines.

The Niels and Mellie Esperson Buildings are a building complex in downtown Houston, Texas. Mary Ann Azevedo of the Houston Business Journal said that they were "among the most recognizable" buildings in Downtown.The Niels Esperson Building is the only complete example of Italian Renaissance architecture in Downtown Houston. Designed by theater architect John Eberson, the Esperson buildings were built in 1927 and 1941, respectively. They are elaborately detailed with massive columns, great urns, terraces, and a grand tempietto at the top, similar to one built in the courtyard of San Pietro in Rome in 1502.Mellie Esperson had the first of the two buildings constructed for her husband, Niels, a real estate and oil tycoon. His name is carved on the side of the building, above the entrance, in large letters. The name "Mellie Esperson" is carved on the accompanying structure, known as the Mellie Esperson building, although that structure is only a nineteen-story annex to the original Esperson building; thus is the newer of both buildings and it is not as tall. Also, instead of it being of neo-classical design, it was constructed in Art-Deco style. Sherry Thomas of USA Today said that rumors of the buildings being haunted existed. The ghost of Mellie Esperson is said to have haunted the building. In 2007 Cameron Management Inc. sold the Esperson buildings to Seligman Western Enterprises Ltd.

The Capitol Lofts is a building located at 711 Main Street in downtown Houston, Texas. Constructed in 1908, the building was originally used for office space and was converted to residential lofts in the 1990s. The building was the tallest building in Houston and Texas until being surpassed by the Praetorian Building in Dallas, Texas as the tallest building in Texas in 1909. It remained the tallest in Houston until 1910 when surpassed by the Carter Building. Designed by architect Alfred C. Finn, the building's original facade was covered with granite and glass in the 1980s.

The Great Jones Building is a building in Downtown Houston at the intersection of Capitol Street and Main Street. The Great Jones Building opened in 1908. Originally it housed the offices of the Texas Company, which later became Texaco. Jim Parsons of the Greater Houston Preservation Alliance (GHPA) believes that Sanguinet & Staats, a Fort Worth, Texas firm, may have designed the building. In 1922, the building received an expansion. When Texaco relocated to a building on San Jacinto Street, the building became the Bankers Mortgage Building. The GHPA stated that Jesse H. Jones kept an office in what is now known as the Great Jones Building while the Gulf Building was being constructed. In the 2000s Spire Realty Group decided to preserve the structure, and in 2003 the GHPA gave Spire the "Good Brick Award." During that period the building received its current name, the "Great Jones Building."
