The City of Brisbane is a local government area (LGA) which comprises the inner portion of the metropolitan area of Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, Australia. Its governing body is the Brisbane City Council. Unlike LGAs in the other mainland state capitals (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide), which are generally responsible only for the central business districts and inner neighbourhoods of those cities, the City of Brisbane administers a significant portion of the Brisbane metropolitan area, serving almost half of the population of the Brisbane Greater Capital City Statistical Area (GCCSA). As such, it has a larger population than any other local government area in Australia. The City of Brisbane was the first Australian LGA to reach a population of more than one million. Its population is roughly equivalent to the populations of Tasmania, the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory combined. In 2016–2017, the council administered a budget of over $3 billion, by far the largest budget of any LGA in Australia. The City derives from cities, towns and shires that merged in 1925. The main offices and central library of the council are at 266 George Street, also known as Brisbane Square. Brisbane City Hall houses the Council Chamber, the offices of the Lord Mayor and Deputy Mayor, meeting and reception rooms and the Museum of Brisbane.

Murarrie railway station is located on the Cleveland line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Murarrie. It opened in 1888 as Mooraree and the name of both the station and the locality were changed to Murarrie in 1907. On 15 July 1996, the Fisherman Islands line to the Port of Brisbane opened to the north of the station. To the east of the station a disused spur to Gibson Island branches off.

The major lease holder is W.C.A.Q (Warehouse Cricket Association of Queensland) with Senior and Junior cricket competitions conducted in Summer and Winter on Saturday and Sunday. 2 day games, 50 over and T20 games available. It is home the BEARs (Brisbane East and Redlands) district cricket playing fields and also host other cricket competitions. The park includes a dog park and 11 cricket fields. The park also has a four net cricket practice area and a canteen open on Saturdays during cricket season.

It is part of the Cannon Hill K-Mart Shopping Centre and is close to Cannon Hill and Murarrie railway stations. It is in a transition precinct between Zone 1 and Zone 2 of the TransLink integrated public transport system.

The Hemmant Gun Battery is a heritage-listed fortification at 214, 228 and 274 Fleming Road, Hemmant, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was built during 1942. It is also known as the Hemmant Gun Emplacements and 6 (390) Australian Anti-Aircraft Battery and 390 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Gun Station Class A. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 26 May 2000.

Gibson Island is a neighbourhood within Murarrie (27.4364°S 153.1224°E / -27.4364; 153.1224 (Gibson Island)) and, despite its name, is no longer an island.

Carina State School is a public co-educational primary school located in the Brisbane suburb of Carindale, Queensland, Australia. It is administered by the Queensland Department of Education, with an enrolment of 311 students and a teaching staff of 24, as of 2023. The school serves students from Prep to Year 6, and has been placed on the Brisbane Heritage Register as a Local Heritage Place since 1 January 2004, due to its historical significance to the growth of the surrounding area.
