Madeley Road railway station

Madeley railway station is a disused railway station in Staffordshire, England. The station was opened by the Grand Junction Railway in 1837.: 43  It closed in 1952.

Newcastle-under-Lyme Rural District was a rural district in the county of Staffordshire. It was formed in 1894 with the civil parishes of Ashley, Audley Rural, Balterley, Betley, Chapel and Hill Chorlton, Clayton, Keele, Madeley, Maer, Mucklestone, Tyrley and Whitmore. It was abolished in 1974, by virtue of the Local Government Act 1972, when it was absorbed into the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme.

All Saints' Church is an Anglican church in Madeley, Staffordshire, England, and in the Diocese of Lichfield. The building dates mostly from the 14th and 15th centuries, and the chancel was rebuilt in the 19th century. It is Grade I listed.

Madeley Old Hall is a black and white Elizabethan house, now a small hotel, in the village of Madeley in Staffordshire, England. It stands in 2 acres of landscaped gardens and is a Grade II* listed building.Built in the late 1500s, it is a timber-framed building with plaster infill standing on a sandstone plinth, originally with a cruciform floor-plan. Across the front gable of the house is carved the warning "WALLK KNAVE. WHAT LOOKEST AT".The property was acquired in 2007 by Gary and Simon White and run as a country house hotel. It is also licensed for weddings.

Madeley High School, established 1957, is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in the village of Madeley, Staffordshire, England. The school was founded as a secondary modern school. It became a comprehensive high school and then a Specialist Technology College with joint second specialisms in Arts and Cognition and Learning, before converting to academy status in September 2013. The school is now sponsored by the Shaw Education Trust.Madeley School caters to children in the 11-16 age group. It serves mainly the area lying to the west of Newcastle Under Lyme including the communities of Keele, Madeley, Betley, Baldwins Gate, Maer, Aston, Mucklestone, Ashley, Ashley Heath, Knighton, Whitmore, Wrinehill, Almington, Hanchurch, Onneley and Loggerheads and Westlands.

Madeley is a village and ward in the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme, North Staffordshire, England. It is split into three parts: Madeley, Middle Madeley, and Little Madeley. Madeley Heath is also considered by many to be part of Madeley. In the 2001 census, the population was recorded as 4,386, decreasing to 4,222 at the 2011 Census.

Onneley is a hamlet in the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.Situated within Onneley is the local Golf and Cricket club. Onneley Cricket club play at the Onneley Oval.

Maer is a rural village and civil parish in the Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, England, to the west of the pottery manufacturing town of Stoke-on-Trent. The parish church of St Peter dates from 1612. It has a funeral monument to Sir John and Lady Bowyer.Maer's main feature is the large 17th-century stone-built country house, Maer Hall, built on a slope above a small lake, or "mere", which gave the house and estate its name. The hall became the home of Josiah Wedgwood II and was frequently visited by his nephew Charles Darwin, who went on to marry Josiah's daughter Emma at St. Peter's Church, which stands higher on the hillside, close to the hall. When she was young, Emma helped her older sister Elizabeth with the Sunday School, which was held in Maer Hall laundry, giving sixty village children their only formal training in reading, writing and religion. The grave of Josiah Wedgwood II and his wife Elizabeth in the churchyard has a view down over the hall. Nearby is Berth Hill, an Iron Age hillfort.
