The Fischbach Gallery is an art gallery in New York City. It was founded by Marilyn Cole Fischbach in 1960 at 799 Madison Avenue. The gallery in its early days became known for hosting the first significant solo exhibitions of now leading art world figures including Eva Hesse, Alex Katz and Gary Kuehn.In 1966 the Fishbach Gallery opened the groundbreaking exhibition Eccentric Abstraction curated by Lucy Lippard which is considered the first Postminimal, art exhibition. The exhibition included Alice Adams, Louis Bourgeois, Gary Kuehn, Eva Hesse, Bruce Nauman, Don Potts, Keith Sonnier and Frank Lincoln.The Fischbach Gallery would later move to two consecutive locations on 57th Street. In the 1970s Marilyn Fischbach hired Aladar Marberger as gallery director. Marberger shifted the gallery's emphasis from Avant-Garde Art to Realism. The gallery included artists Leigh Behnke, Lois Dodd, Jane Freilicher, Ian Hornak, Knox Martin, and Neil Welliver.In the early 1980s, Marilyn Fischbach decided to take on three additional investors in the gallery, although she remained a partial owner until her death in 2003. One of the investors, Beverly Zagor, became an active partner until her death in May 2011. Another investor and active partner, Lawrence L. DiCarlo, is gallery director. The Fischbach Gallery remains open and has relocated to 210 Eleventh Avenue in New York. It focuses primarily on contemporary realism.

Hasted Hunt Gallery represented emerging and established artists from around the world. The addition of two painters and a sculptor to Hasted Hunt's repertoire in 2011–2012 had marked a progressive turning point to expand the gallery's program from a former focus on contemporary and vintage photography. Tony Shafrazi Gallery is a New York City art gallery that was opened in 1979 by art dealer Tony Shafrazi. Shafrazi’s showcased the art of artists such as Kenny Scharf, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Francis Bacon and Futura 2000. In 1985, the Shafrazi Gallery displayed what The New York Times called a pas de deux of art by Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol. Throughout the years Shafrazi also exhibited the work of artists that included William S. Burroughs, Patrick Caulfield, Keith Sonnier, Enzo Cucchi, as well as Tom Wesselmann, Jasper Johns and Roberta Smith. Shafrazi's gallery closed in 2014. Some of his art clients included Donald Trump and Larry Silverstein.

The Chelsea Arts District, sometimes also called the West Chelsea Arts District or the Chelsea Gallery District is a region of Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood that runs from 18th to 28th Streets between Tenth and Eleventh avenues that is known for its concentration of art galleries. It developed as part of the neighborhood's rezoning and shift in the international art market in the late 1990s and early 2000s.While galleries have relocated to other areas due to rising rents and the distance from the subway, new galleries have taken their place and the area remains an arts hub.While many galleries feature a rotating series of exhibits, the district is also known for longterm or permanent projects, such as Joseph Beuys' 7000 Oaks which began in 1988 with five trees that marked Dia Chelsea's opening and was extended in 1996 and remains due to a partnership with the Departments of Parks & Recreation and Transportation.

Metro Pictures is a New York City art gallery founded in 1980 by Janelle Reiring (previously of Leo Castelli Gallery), and Helene Winer (previously of Artists Space). It was located in SoHo until 1995 when it moved to Chelsea. The gallery announced in March of 2021 that it will close in December.
