Goldson post office was established in 1891 and named for the first postmaster, J. M. Goldson. It ran until 1934. The community's elevation is 404 feet (123 m).As of 1990, there was no town center remaining at the site, but the Goldson Grange, 5 miles (8 km) to the west, remains active.

The reservoir is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers flood control project encompassing more than 12,000 acres (49 km2) and is a popular site for boating, fishing, and birdwatching.Surrounding portions of the reservoir is the Fern Ridge Wildlife Area, a wildlife management area providing a unique habitat for a variety of species including wintering waterfowl populations.

The Eugene Yacht Club (EYC) is a yacht club founded in 1940.EYC is fifteen miles west from downtown Eugene, Oregon. It has a long history of supporting all aspects of sailing, maintains a Sailing School for beginners through advanced racing, and sponsors National Class racing.The excellent wind and water conditions, the lack of current and commercial boat traffic, and the size and shape of Fern Ridge Lake allow the use of the standard Olympic circle racing course. This and the availability of camping on the grounds make EYC an ideal place for regattas and other organized sailing events. EYC's Memorial Day Regatta, first held in 1945, regularly attracts competitors from clubs from all over the West Coast. In June, EYC hosts the Live on the Edge Regatta, a competition just for multi-hull sailors. The Harvest Regatta in August draws competitors from around the region each year.

Faith Lutheran Church is a Lutheran church located in Junction City in the U.S. state of Oregon. The church was founded in 1902, with the help of Anders Christian Nielsen, in the Danish United Evangelical Lutheran Church of America synod. The present building was completed in 1908. Church services were conducted in Danish until 1951, when the church language changed to English and the name changed to Faith Lutheran Church of Junction City.The church was founded in order to promote the philosophy of N. F. S. Grundtvig, a Danish cleric who promoted Christian fundamentalism, Danish nationalism, and rural education. The church held lectures and other meetings, gymnastic competitions, and celebrations of Danish holidays. These activities helped to preserve the unique ethnic environment of Junction City.

Washburne State Wayside was a state park 4 miles (6 km) northwest of Junction City, in the U.S. state of Oregon. Administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, the wayside served as a rest stop for travelers on Oregon Route 99W and an interpretive center for the Applegate Trail. The state bought the land for the park in 1926 from William C. and Mae E. Washburne. It was located on the border between Lane and Benton counties.Amenities included picnic tables, a restroom, a nature trail, and interpretive signs about the Applegate Trail. The day-use park, formerly open year-round, was visited by about 131,000 people a year. The nature trail led into a forest of second-growth Douglas fir. This is no longer a park. It is private owned land and the big trees have been logged off.
