Via Port Rotterdam

The Great Flats Nature Trail is a protected wetland habitat mostly located in the town of Rotterdam, New York, United States. It is situated just west of the city of Schenectady on West Campbell Road (NY 337).

Enlarged Double Lock No. 23, Old Erie Canal is a historic Erie canal lock located at Rotterdam in Schenectady County, New York. It was built in 1841-1842 as part of the First Enlargement. It is built entirely of large cut limestone blocks, laid regular ashlar, and mortared with hydraulic cement. The Northeast lock chamber is 110 feet (34 m) long and 18 feet (5.5 m) wide; the Southwest lock chamber is 220 feet (67 m) long and 18 to 20 feet (6.1 m) wide; and the Center pier is 100 feet (30 m) long and 26 feet (7.9 m) wide. The Southwest lock chamber was expanded in 1889–1890. Lock 23 fell into disuse after the opening of the New York State Barge Canal in 1918. The lock chambers contain no water and the area is open as a local park. The site was reclaimed and stabilized by local volunteers starting in 1999. A replica of a board and batten locktender's hut was constructed between 2000 and 2003 by students from the Union College Department of Civil Engineering.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Bellevue is a neighborhood in Schenectady, New York, United States. Within Bellevue is the General Electric (GE) Main Plant, built in 1886 and which was once home to the company headquarters from its formation in the late-19th century until moving to Connecticut in the mid-1970s. Historically many residents walked to work to the GE plant. Bellevue, along with neighboring Mont Pleasant, was annexed by the city of Schenectady in 1903 from the town of Rotterdam.

It is one of five nearly identical post office buildings across the state, all featuring elaborate detail and decoration. In the lobby a mural depicts a 1690 confrontation between Native Americans and an early settler family. In 1989 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2009 the Postal Service announced that it was considering closing it down, sparking a community effort to save it.

Scotia-Glenville High School is a public high school in Scotia, New York, United States. It is the only high school operated by the Scotia-Glenville Central School District. The school is located in a large suburb of the city of Schenectady, New York. The school's athletic mascot is the "Tartan," depicted as a Scottish bag-piper.

Scotia Naval Supply Depot was a United States Navy supply depot located in Scotia, New York, from 1942 to 1971.

The Abraham Glen House is located on Mohawk Avenue (NY 5) in Scotia, New York, United States. It is a white frame house from the 18th century that is currently used as the local branch of the Schenectady County public library system. Built in the 1730s, it is a rare surviving example in the region of a Dutch Colonial heavy timber frame house. It was extensively modified at the beginning of the 20th century but still retains its basic form and original materials. In 2004 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Scotia is a village in Schenectady County, New York, United States, incorporated in 1904. The population was 7,729 at the 2010 census. Scotia is part of the town of Glenville, and is connected with the city of Schenectady by the Western Gateway Bridge over the Mohawk River.

Mica Insulator Company is a historic daylight factory complex located at Schenectady, Schenectady County, New York. The complex consists of the four-story Micanite Works built in 1915 and the adjacent three-story Lamicoid Building built in 1946. The two buildings are connected by a third floor exterior walkway. The Micanite Works is of reinforced concrete construction and the Lamicoid Building is a steel frame building with brick curtain walls. Both features large multi-paned windows and open floor plans.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

SUNY Schenectady is a public community college in Schenectady, New York. It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system. It was established in 1967 in the Van Curler Hotel in Downtown Schenectady and has undergone multiple expansions through the following decades.
