Chestnut Hill Cove is an unincorporated community in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. Designated as a "city" by the United States Postal Service, Chestnut Hill Cove is a waterfront community situated on 100 acres of land, in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, containing 394 town homes. Located on Nabbs Creek in Chestnut Hill Cove Maryland, minutes from the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, the community offers a 30 slip marina, boat ramp facility, and a storage area. Development features in this community include extensive tree save areas and pioneering environmentally sensitive storm water management areas.

Freetown Rosenwald School is a historic Rosenwald school building in the historic African American community of Freetown at Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is a simple, one-story, gable-roofed, rectangular frame building. The exterior walls are sheathed in aluminum siding and the gable roof is covered with asphalt shingles and displays minimal overhang. It was built in 1924–25, by the school construction program of the Julius Rosenwald Fund, to serve the local African American community. It is one of ten Rosenwald Schools surviving in Anne Arundel County.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Curtis Creek is a tidal creek located in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It is a tributary of the cove Curtis Bay and is adjacent to the west of the South Baltimore community of Curtis Bay. The creek begins at the confluence of Furnace Creek and Marley Creek in northern Anne Arundel County, Maryland and flows north about 2.5 miles (4.0 km) into Curtis Bay (which now lies in the City of Baltimore) which opens to the east into the main branch and stem of the Patapsco River (serving as the Port of Baltimore) and Chesapeake Bay.

The Brandon Shores Generating Station is an electric generating station located on Fort Smallwood Road north of Orchard Beach in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, near Glen Burnie, and is operated by Raven Power Holdings, Inc. Brandon Shores consists of two Babcock & Wilcox coal-fired boilers and two General Electric steam turbines with a combined nominal generating capacity of 1370 MWe. Unit 1 went into operation in May 1984 and Unit 2 in May 1991.The station shares a 483-acre (195 ha) site adjacent to the Patapsco River with the Herbert A. Wagner Generating Station. The Brandon Shores plant dominates the site with its 700-foot (210 m) exhaust and 400-foot (120 m) flue-gas desulfurization (FGD) system stacks. In April 2023, Talen notified their grid operator, PJM, that they intended to close the station.

Green Haven is a neighborhood located within Pasadena in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. It was delineated as a census-designated place at the 2000 census, at which time its population was 17,415.

The United States Coast Guard Yard or just Coast Guard Yard is a United States Coast Guard operated shipyard located on Curtis Bay in northern Anne Arundel County, Maryland, just south of the Baltimore city limits. It is the largest industrial facility in the Department of Homeland Security. It falls under the Coast Guard's Engineering and Logistics Command. It is the Coast Guard's sole shipbuilding and major repair facility, and part of the Coast Guard's core industrial base and fleet support operations. Engineering, logistics, and maintenance responsibilities and complete life-cycle support; installation, operations, maintenance and ultimately replacement. Its annual budget is $88 million.

Maryland's Legislative District 31 is one of 47 districts in the state for the Maryland General Assembly. It covers part of Anne Arundel County. Up until the 2020 United States redistricting cycle, the district was divided into two sub-districts for the Maryland House of Delegates: District 31A and District 31B.

Maryland's 3rd congressional district comprises all of Howard county as well as parts of Anne Arundel and Carroll counties. The seat is currently represented by John Sarbanes, a Democrat. Three people who represented Maryland in the United States Senate were also former representatives of the 3rd district, including Ben Cardin, Barbara Mikulski, and Paul Sarbanes. The district's previously odd shape was attributed to gerrymandering to favor Democratic candidates, following the 2000 and 2010 censuses. In 2012, the district was found to be the third least compact congressional district in the United States, and in 2014, The Washington Post called it the nation's second-most gerrymandered district. John Sarbanes, the current Democratic Representative for the district, put forth the For the People Act of 2019 to address electoral reform, voting rights, and gerrymandering in the United States. Following the 2020 redistricting cycle, it now comprises Howard County, most of Anne Arundel County including Glen Burnie and Annapolis, and part of Carroll County, specifically the areas around Mount Airy, and its incumbent representative John Sarbanes no longer lives in the district.

Orchard Beach is an unincorporated community in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. The community lies outside the Baltimore Beltway, approximately four miles from its nearest interchange. It lies on a peninsula that has about two miles of shoreline and about a dozen named streets.

Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Curtis Bay Depot is a logistics center run by the Defense National Stockpile Center under the Defense Logistics Agency, and was a United States Army depot from 1918 to 1954. It is located in Curtis Bay, Maryland. Capital Gazette editor Jimmy DeButts proposed developing the currently unused land into a sports tourism complex.

Wagner Generating Station is an electric generating station located on Fort Smallwood Road north of Orchard Beach in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, just east of Glen Burnie, and is operated by the Raven Power Holdings, LLC, a subsidiary of Riverstone Holdings LLC. The H. A. Wagner station consists of natural gas fueled Unit 1, nominally rated at 133 MWe, coal-fired Unit 2 rated at 136 MWe, coal-fired Unit 3 rated at 359 MWe, and oil-fired Unit 4 rated at 415 MWe. Northeast High School is a senior high school in unincorporated northeastern Anne Arundel County, Maryland, United States. The school opened in 1964 and serves as one of two high schools for the "Census-designated Place" (CDP) of Pasadena. which is an unincorporated suburban residential area and community (unofficial town) 15 miles south of Baltimore. The school is situated in Pasadena's eastern coastal area community known as Riveria Beach along the south and west shores of the outer Patapsco River / Baltimore Harbor and Seaport where it flows into the Chesapeake Bay on its western shore. The school newsletter is called the "Eaglegram" and the school newspaper is called the "crybabys tantrum ". It opened in 1964. In 1992 and from 2012 to 2014 the building was refurbished.
