The Caribbean Policy Research Institute (CAPRI) is a public policy think tank based at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Kingston, Jamaica. The think tank's executive director is Dr. Damien King, Jamaican economist and lecturer in economics at the University of the West Indies, Mona.

Campion College is a public Catholic secondary school, located in Kingston, Jamaica. The co-educational school was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1960. The school is one of the top three choices for PEP exams and is widely considered to be a prominent educational facility due to its numerous top placements in academics for the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE).

The school is widely known for both its academic and sports achievements, and has produced many influential members of Jamaican society.

American International School of Kingston (AISK) is an American international school located on College Green in Kingston, Jamaica. it is a private day school that is open to both male and female students of all nationalities. The mascot is a hurricane.

Mona High School is a high school in Saint Andrew Parish, Jamaica.In 2015 the school reportedly had about 1,200 students, and in 2018, the school self-reported that it had 1,460 students.Five students and a teacher were injured in an explosion in a chemistry lab at the school in 2018.Keven Jones is the school's principal. In February 2018, 260 "unruly" students were sent home. In 2017 all male classes, additional training, and meetings were held to improve the educations results for male students at the school.Shenseea is an alumnus of the school.

Seven armed men raided the residence of reggae musician Bob Marley in Kingston, Jamaica on December 3, 1976, two days before he was to stage a concert in an attempt to quell recent violence. Politicians from across the political spectrum hoped to capitalize on Marley's support. While Marley remained neutral, many viewed him as tacitly supporting the prime minister Michael Manley and his democratic socialist People's National Party (PNP). Marley and three others were shot, but all survived.

The Bob Marley Museum is a museum in Kingston, Jamaica, dedicated to the reggae musician Bob Marley. The museum is located at 56 Hope Road, Kingston, and is Bob Marley's former place of residence. It was home to the Tuff Gong reggae record label which was founded by The Wailers in 1970. In 1976, it was the site of a failed assassination attempt on Bob Marley.There is a song called "56 Hope Road" from the album In the Pursuit of Leisure by Sugar Ray featuring Shaggy.popular for tourists.

Independence Park is a sports and cultural complex in Kingston, Jamaica built for the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. It houses a variety of sports facilities. A statue of Bob Marley marks the entrance to the site. The main sports venue at the complex is the National Stadium.
