Tai O Road

Leung Uk (Chinese: 梁屋) is a village in Tai O, on Lantau Island, Hong Kong.

Buddhist Fat Ho Memorial College is a co-educational secondary school in Hong Kong. The school opened in 1977 and as of 2016 had approximately 350 students. It is run by the Hong Kong Buddhist Association and sponsored by Po Lin Monastery. It is a Direct Subsidy Scheme institution that charges tuition fees. Students can pick between English or Cantonese as their medium of instruction. Situated in Tai O, it is the first co-ed secondary school on Lantau Island. Around 2009 the school had annual losses of $5 million HKD with 280 students. In hopes of "reduc[ing] annual losses" the school a Direct Subsidy Scheme (DSS) school. According to Elaine Yau of the South China Morning Post, financial performance improved subsequently during the principalship of Eric Yuon Fuk-lung, thanks in part to significant staffing cuts.Buddhist Fat Ho Memorial College's motto is "Enlighten with Wisdom, Manifest with Compassion and Pursue kindness and virtue". The school is founded on the Buddhist value that everyone has an equal right to learn.

Cheung Shan (Chinese: 象山; lit. 'Elephant Mountain'), is a mountain on Lantau Island in Hong Kong at 449 metres (1,473 ft) in height. It is one of the Four Guardian Beasts (四靈獸) of Tai O Village.

Lantau North Country Park (Chinese: 北大嶼郊野公園) is one of two rural parks on Lantau Island, Hong Kong and is located on the north side of the island. The 22-square-kilometre (8.5 sq mi) park was designated in 1978.

Sham Wat (Chinese: 深屈) is a village of Lantau Island, in Hong Kong.

Shek Pik Reservoir (Chinese: 石壁水塘) is a reservoir in Shek Pik on Lantau Island in Hong Kong. Built between 1957 and 1963, it has a storage capacity of 24 million cubic metres and is the third largest reservoir in Hong Kong after High Island Reservoir and Plover Cove Reservoir.

The Ngong Ping Terminal is a terminal station of the gondola lift known as Ngong Ping 360, located on Lantau Island's Ngong Ping, in Hong Kong. It was opened on 18 September 2006.

The Battle of Ty-ho Bay was a significant naval engagement in 1855 involving the United Kingdom and United States against Chinese pirates. The action off Tai O, Hong Kong was to rescue captured merchant vessels, held by a fleet of armed war-junks. British and American forces defeated the pirates in one of the last major battles between Chinese pirate fleets and western navies. It was also one of the first joint operations undertaken by British and American forces.
